Using Images Not Working?
Hi! So I used to be pretty active on hio around 2020-2022 but the last couple years due to irlbusy-ness I've only really done the occasional login and I think I may have missed some coding updates during that time.
I used to be pretty familiar with all the coding features and such but today I was messing around with my ency and noticed that old images I had embedded a while ago were fine and still worked but if I tried to upload new ones using the image address obtained from an image-hosting site such as imgur or ibb like we used to do with .jpg or .png typed at the end, when I clicked preview it only showed the link and the \img\/img/ brackets around it turned to \url\/url/ brackets in the code section.
However, I tested this out with a copied image address from a pic from Google images without putting it through the image-hosting site (imgur) like I used to do and it worked. Are we not supposed to use those anymore? This wouldn't be a problem except I like to resize images (i.e. with a site like Befunky photo editor) and once I do that there's no place to copy the image address from my computer downloads/files, only the image itself which obviously doesn't work. If I place the resized, downloaded-to-files photo in a new tab by itself and copy the image address from there, it comes out as "[my name]'s-computer-[a bunch of random numbers and symbols like &%4#%$6]" and doesn't work as an image address on hio (instead presenting itself as just a link and the brackets in the code section change to \url\/url/ like with the imgur-hosted images. So I used to use imgur to get a valid image address I could use in the \img\/img/ brackets to get an image, but that doesn't appear to work anymore.
Also, while typing this I noticed that if I place empty \img\/img/ brackets on their own or even in the \code\/code/ brackets to try to show what I'm talking about, they disappear from the code-writing section when I hit preview and don't show up as displayed code in the preview section when they're inside \code\/code/ brackets. Is this a glitch or is there an updated way of embedding images that I'm unaware of? I'm pretty confused

So, the issue here is that some image hosting sites simply don't work anymore, unfortunately (there haven't been any changes in coding or how it functions since you've been away). This just happened one day, not sure about the specifics, but that's just how it's been. You may also notice that the site will also eat image and gif quality, which is also something that happens, we can't really do anything about it. Imgur doesn't work and will keep converting the image into a url, as you've experienced, and discord doesn't work either anymore since a recent update (on discords end).
You'll have to use a site like Imgbb or Postimages, both work well for image hosting! Hopefully this helps!
