Trick Riding

The worst part of summer vacation for Aaron Jones was the fact that he couldn't fly in the muggle world. Of course he loved the time he got to spend with his family, but attending summer camp was practically a given for him because it meant more opportunities to fly. And this summer camp was off to a pretty good start. The Hufflepuff had gotten to introduce his girlfriend @Opeila Winters to his family during camp dropoff. And when he found out they would be tenting together, it was the icing on the cake. Going to sleep and waking up next to her was an experience he was definitely treasuring.Closed to interactions
A couple days into the camp on Wednesday morning, Aaron was up much earlier than his other tentmates. He kissed his girlfriend's forehead before leaving the tent that morning, whispering that he was going for an early workout. The Hufflepuff took his Silver Arrow and headed out onto the London Quidditch Pitch. He was almost immediately joined by his snowy owl Chae-rin. The diurnal bird was used to the early morning training, and she was probably looking forward to her daily dose of treats.
His owl was enjoying the winter theme of the camp more than Aaron was. While the sixteen-year-old didn't mind the theme, he had definitely been hoping for a warmer experience. As it was, he was currently dressed in a pair of dark joggers, dark boots, and a long-sleeved white T-shirt with a skateboard logo on it. He knew he'd get pretty sweaty from the upcoming workout so he wasn't dressed that warmly, but it meant the journey over to his training area was a bit chilly. He decided to jog though, which helped warm him up, both in temperature and in preparation for his training. There weren't a ton of people awake in the camp, but there were enough - he waved at a couple of familiar faces as he jogged by, or shot a friendly smile at others. OOC Note: Feel free to claim Aaron waved or smiled to you and that's what caught your attention.
Aaron had been honing his trick riding skills for several years now, and he was quite proud of that. As he arrived at the edge of the tents area, he mounted his broom and pushed into the air, unable to help the giant grin appearing on his face. The air was where he felt the most free, and as he maneuvered higher and higher into the air with Chae, Aaron felt at peace.
The next few minutes he spent doing some warmup laps around the pitch, tossing treats to his owl from time to time as he whistled and instructed her to perform her warmup moves. Eventually, he settled on a section of the pitch near the stands. He would use this area to practice one of the many performance routines he had.
Aaron began close to the ground, whistling for Chae-rin to join him. She landed on his arm and he offered her a treat before the show began. "Ready for this?" he asked with a smile, and Chae seemed to hoot in affirmation. "Let's go!"
With those words, Aaron and Chae-rin shot into a beautiful spiral together. Heading straight up into the air at a 90 degree angle with the ground, Aaron applied pressure to one side of his broom and spiraled opposite his owl in a maneuver they had spent weeks perfecting. Once they were about thirty feet off the ground, Aaron did a low whistle and they broke their spiraling maneuver. Chae went in one direction and Aaron went opposite. Aaron removed both hands from his broom, using core strength and balance to stay upright, using his wand in one hand and the other pulling out small colorful hoops from his pocket. "Engorgio!"
In just a moment's time, Aaron now had full-sized hula hoops grasped in one hand, while the other hand tucked his wand away. He used his free hand to regain control of his broom and do a sharp 180 in the air, coming to a full stop. In the distance, he saw Chae-rin hovering in the air and waiting for instruction. Another grin seeing his partner was prepared, then Aaron threw the hula hoops at an angle into the air. This action immediately prompted his snowy owl to fly towards them.
As Chae-rin flew through the hoops in a figure-eight pattern, Aaron focused on his own trick. He got to his feet on his broom, a technique he had gotten the hang of last year, and took on a low stance like he was surfing. Hands out for balance, knees bent for a lower center of gravity. The fearless Hogwarts student felt a rush of excitement and triumph at how easily he could do this now. No time for patting himself on the back, though, because this was just the start of the trick. Using his feet now to angle himself, he began to surf his broom upwards towards the hula hoops that were still arching upwards. Another whistle to signal to Chae-rin that he was on his way, then he was flying himself through the hula hoops. Perfect! He didn't catch the edge of the hoop this time, he went straight through! A fist pump in the air was the only signal at how excited he was.
Now feeling a bit more confident and daring, Aaron started to stand up straighter on the broom. It was more dangerous to stand like this on the broom - but that was part of the fun. As he slowly straightened his knees, he turned at the same time. The technique of actually turning in the air while he was surfing the broom like this was a new one he was still working on - going higher and lower was much easier than left and right. But here he was, turning 180 as he stood straight in the air, his grin never leaving his face. Another moment and he was rushing back towards the hula hoops that had started to fall. He caught both of them, one in each hand, then held them above his head so Chae-rin could fly through them once more.
Once the snowy owl had done so, Aaron tossed the hoops towards the ground (he'd get them later), and decided to work on one of the hardest tricks he had attempted so far. He had yet to perfect it, but practice makes perfect. From his standing position, Aaron slowly crouched back down until he could place both hands on the broom. He took a deep breath, making sure that he still had control of where the broom was going (he had definitely slowed down the broom a lot). In the next moment, Aaron pushed off the broom with his feet, sending them into the air as his hands maintained their grip. Now in a handstand position on the broom, Aaron felt a chill on his stomach from his shirt riding up, but that was of no concern to him. He wobbled a little in this position, but he kept his brown eyes focused on what was ahead of him. Controlling the broom with just his hands on the broom was difficult, and maintaining his balance in a handstand was difficult, but he was doing it! After weeks of practicing this before school end, he was actually doing it!
He couldn't control the broom beyond maintaining his height and speed yet, but this was enough. With another whistle from Aaron, Chae-rin was now perched on one of his feet. Another whistle, and Chae hopped over to his other foot. He could feel the bird's weight on each foot, but he maintained his balance. All in all, the handstand trick was only lasting a minute, but he could feel beads of sweat falling from his forehead. He whistled to tell Chae-rin to leave his feet so he could start the next part. The hard part.
Arm muscles straining a bit, Aaron started to perform a handstand pushup on his broom. He lowered his chest closer to the broom, but instead of slowly raising up again, he pushed off the broom as hard as he could. His goal was to pushup from the handstand hard enough to jump back to his feet. It didn't go as planned. Aaron failed to get enough space between himself and the broom when he pushed off, so he landed on his stomach instead of his feet. Ouch. Aaron grimaced, the impact to his chest unpleasant. But the Hufflepuff was quick to recover, and he was back to a traditional broom riding position now. Up next? Some very risky dives with Chae as his race partner.
Aaron Jones was unaware of the fact that he had an audience down below.
Aaron is a Lovely Creature.Aaron is Fearless. You are so incredibly beautiful, it is hard to take ones eyes off of you.Aaron has Beast Master. You do not scare easily. In fact, they might even call you fearless. Those with this skill have a pet that can perform actions depending on the animal.
OOC Note: This thread is a bit like a spectator thread - it's intended for anyone who is watching Aaron to interact with each other. I will likely post once more with tricks before Aaron flies down; he might interact at that point, but again, this thread is mainly for the people watching him to be in awe and to be impressed and to become fans.

Interacting with @Aaron Jones ♥ ♥ ♥♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Date & Time: 17th July, Morning
Metamorphmagus: Not Active ♥ ♥♥♥ ♥ Outfit: Jeans, sneakers and a long-sleeve top
♥♥♥ Summer Camp had only just started but Xiomara was already in love with everything she had seen. People, for the most part, seemed very nice and it was just so fascinating to be around all of these new things. Everything was new to her. Magic as a whole, the people, the activities. Ah, it was just so great. She had been to a few summer camps in her primary school but nothing could compare to this experience - there was magic involved. Of course, she did not really know much magic but hey, she was looking forward to learning more about the world anyway.
Deciding to go for a walk around the camp before breakfast, she left her tent quite early. She was ready for an adventure. If anything, she had kind of wished that she had brought along her camera so she could actually capture the amazing scenery and such but for now, she would just have to rely on her memory to remember these beautiful moments.
She often would leave her tent to be outdoors, as she did love a good hiking adventure - something she used to do regularly with her mother. However, she did not expect to see someone flying on a broom! Xiomara blinked, curious to see what was happening. Perhaps they were training for one of the upcoming sports - wasn't there a few matches happening between the different schools soon? Broom Racing or Quidditch or something, according to the schedules! Yes, she was pretty sure they were sports that she had seen on the camp itinerary. Out of curiosity, she walked closer to watch the training session - trying to figure out which sport the figure was practicing for as she knew very little about either of them. Though, judging by the name, she figured that the former was a race on, well, brooms.
What she did not expect to see, however, was a boy flying around the sky with a beautiful snowy owl and performing what looked like some sort of aeroplane show but as people! It had been a while since she had seen an aeroplane show happening but they were so cool when they did! It looked like the owl had been trained too - and was going through the hoops and such as part of this.
Was this some sort of aerial circus show?! Xiomara's jaw dropped opened as she quickly found herself hooked to the show she was seeing. She had no idea if maybe this was a bit rude of her. It probably was but she was far too distracted by the figure and the owl to think about politeness. This was so intriguing. Was there going to be a performance later or was this it? She could not recall something being on the itinerary and it didn't look like there were a ton of others around, so maybe it was still far too early for that. Either way, she found herself sitting down against a tree and just watching the unknown broom artist do their thing!
She had no idea how long she had been sitting there but Xiomara had suddenly forgotten all about her adventures or even getting breakfast. Whatever this was, it was FAR more interesting, in her opinion. Was this what Quidditch was? It was so cool.
