There was a lot of snow, but what could you expect from a snow themed summer camp. This wasn't going to stop Jamie in any way shape or form from practising for the upcoming Quidditch matches against the others schools that were here. Although there was a smaller chance she would be playing as she was a second string chaser, practice could never hurt and she would rather practice now and not have to play than not practice and have to play badly.

The morning had started quite simple, with Jamie getting dressed in a nice warm black jumper and some gray trousers with a few layers underneath to keep her warm, adorned with her usual rings and necklaces. She had had breakfast and then walked around the stadium looking at some of the students hanging around, mostly seeing if there was anything going on as there weren't any official activities today.

After lunch she decided to go and find a spot to practice, carrying her Nimbus 1700 and a small ball, to replicate a bludger or quaffle, around and looking for a spot that wouldn't bother others too much, although as long as she could practice it didn't matter who was there or not. After a while she spotted a nice place that was unoccupied, except for as she looked up to judge the flying space she already saw another student occupying it. She seemed to be quite at home on the broom.

The girl was probably also practising for the upcoming games, which meant that there was a chance they would be playing together. This gave Jamie an idea, if she could practice with the girl she could kill two birds with one stone, she'd heard the muggle saying from some of the other students and quite liked it, by practising her own skills and also gathering information on the other girls weaknesses and strengths, and maybe some of her teams weaknesses and strengths if she played her cards right.

Putting on her best smile she walked over to where the student was flying above the ground, mounted her broom and flew up to her. "Hey! I saw you practising, would you mind if I join you? It's not quite as easy to practise on your own and maybe we can help each other!" She asked enthousiatically, hoping the other girl would comply.

As the Suzuki girl cruised around in her broom, she couldn't help but think if she would even be able to play in the match this summer. Sure she was a player but she was only a second string, a substitute. A chaser was quite a perfect position for Kanae, she was quite fast, good at evading, and was pretty accurate at scoring. Even if she had even a minute on the field, she'd be happy. She would be representing her school after all, who wouldn't be happy to show Mahoutokoro pride?

Since this was a new broom, she wasn't as used to flying with it. Kanae hadn't used it yet so it still had some breaking in to do. The Mahoutokoro girl was used to her old Nimbus 1700 but since the Nimbus 2001 was a better model, she was it by her older cousin, Peter when he stopped by Japan during Spring Break. Since the Nimbus 2001 wasn't technically allowed yet in the match, so she would be using her 1700. But practicing on it wouldn't hurt right?

A random girl flew up to her. Kanae was quite confused but the extrovert within her was booming with joy. She tried to understand their speech as best as she can since the girl was still learning English. "I would..." she thought of the word for it, "I would love it if we would practice with eachother! Because you're right, practicing on my own is hard" she replied. Her grammar and speech isn't perfect but she tried her hardest, her accent was evident though. Kanae tried to make up for it by giving the other girl her signature warm smile which enchanted many back home, to her own obliviousness. "What is your ehm .... role in the Quidditch?" she asked curiously. She herself was a chaser, a second string one.

She was more chatty in her native language so she was quite disappointed that she wasn't able to hold much of a conversation with the other person. But at the same time she was relieved that she didn't have the opportunity to annoy the other person because of herself being a chatterbox. The Mahoutokoro student tied up her hair in a low ponytail before gripping her broom once again.

Jamie was very glad when the other girl accepted her offer to practice together, agreeing with her that practising on your own is quite hard, although Jamie thought her willingness to practice with someone who could be your opponent was either quite naive or the other girl was planning the same thing she was and wanted to gather information on the Beauxbaton team. Not that Jamie would let her of course.

Jamie thought on whether or not to answer the girls question about her position, it could give her an advantage, but she wasn't sure if she could uphold the lie and whether or not it would give her any advantage. So deciding to just tell the truth, but to then not practice at her best, she smiled at the girl.

"I'm a chaser, the best position in my opinion. I'm Jamie by the way, sorry for not introducing myself earlier, what's your name?" She asked, realising she didn't know the other girls name. She seemed like someone who Jamie could coax into given up info about what she wanted to know, so Jamie was planning on playing it safe and being polite as to not scare the girl away. So smiling her signature 'kind' smile she let herself slip into her deceptive persona.

"Well Jamie, it's nice to meet with you." Kanae smiled. "I am chaser as well." The Suzuki tries her best to not put the "-san" at the end since she wanted to appear more fluent. Though she knew there was a possibility of other intentions, the girl was quite certain the girl was from Beauxbatons which would mean they would not be playing a match since Mahoutokoro would be playing with the South Americans of Castelobruxo. Though she wasn't a first string player, she was still practicing.

Even if she's not going to play, that wouldn't change the fact that she had a family game during the remaining weeks of summer. You could say it's a tradition. "Its great that we are er.. both chasers because we can practice together for our matches." God she hated sounding like an amateur.

There wasn't an ounce of deception in the almost-thirteen year old's mind. Back in Japan, Kanae was known as the pretty girl who was genuinely nice and caring. People loved her. She was seen as an intelligent upperclass-woman and a loveable underclassman. She had an unbreakable reputation. Rumours said that by her fifth year she'd be a guarenteed heartbreaker. "What school is you playing with?" the brunette asked.

The other girl was a chaser as well, that was good as it meant that Jamie could maybe snag even more information from her. She knew they wouldn't be playing each other this summer as the girl didn't seem to be from Durmstrang, but maybe in upcoming summers they would, and Jamie wouldn't pass up on an opportunity like this, even if it was just for practice as that could never hurt either.

Jamie's smile dropped ever so slightly, so slightly that the other girl would only have noticed if she was paying close attention to the chasers face, at the fact that she seemed to have completely ignored her question, and although Jamie now knew she would be practising with another chaser she still didn't know her opponents name and that annoyed her as she had clearly asked for it. Though still not wanting to mess this opportunity up and be rude to the girl she had to politely ask again somehow, as she couldn't keep calling her 'the girl'.

"Yeah, it's great! Quite the coincidence actually." She chuckled. "Sorry, I might not have heard you, but what was your name? It's just that I can't keep calling you 'the girl' in my head." She once again let out a soft laugh, hoping that it would put the other at ease and wouldn't have her come across as rude or anything that would scare her away.

"I'm playing for Ilvermorny this year, they needed an extra player so here I am! Usually I'd play for Beauxbatons though, I hope they'll do alright." She said, offering up a bit of information to hopefully get the other girl to not see her as threatening. "You?"
