What a Purr-chase! Pet

The Magical Menagerie was a beautifully frightening place. What a good place to start. Trickles of water dripped down from the ceiling, and Audrey wondered why couldn't they cast a spell to seal the water-dropping hole. Ignoring the dripping water, she wandered upon a group of caged animals. She felt as if she couldn't bear it anymore. They just all look... so miserable. She darted towards the cashier, who was scanning the animals people were holding on and repeatedly saying '15 Galleons', with each saying earning 15 Galleons, as you would've guessed. She took no notice to the little Second Year with her casual Muggle clothing; in fact, the wizards and witches would already start peeping and spying on her with her 'Muggle' blouse on.

Shuffling among the what-seemed-like-moving pictures, she gazed at a silvery, (sort of) white cat staring at her, as if she was saying, "Take me. Take me," Audrey looked a little closer, just to see her licking her paw as if she was trying to divert her attention on other useful things. Her wool-like fur and soft 'meow' had melted her heart. The only thing she could describe her is using the word "Charming," she panted, her heart beating faster than ever. She asked (even though it looks dumb), "Would you want to take me as your owner?" She tried using American Sign Language, but found it hard to do so, then shrugged and waited for her response. She then ran around in a circle happily, and Audrey beamed: she took it as a yes. She then thought of her name, and boy did she take a long time to think of the word 'Akari'. Realising that it's about to go dawn soon, she dug her purse and managed to find twenty Galleons. Should be enough, she thought silently, unable to hide the happiness in her. She then put the coins back, careful not to spill them as she went, clicked on the handle of the silvery cage, and went to the cashier counter.

The counter was a disaster. It was as if they never learned how to civilise themselves. Well, Audrey thought. At least Muggles knew how to, at least, behave themselves in public. She looked at the people, curling her lips while caressing the cage. "Next, please!" the voice of a sweet lady echoed around. Glancing around, she quickly took the spot and handed the cage over. She then readjusted her glasses and looked closely, trying to note down the pet's characteristics. "Silver-white, female, greenish eyes..." She then looked profusely at one of the long lists that she held in front of her and said in a casual, professional tone, "That'll be 15 Galleons, please," Audrey then shuffled among her ruffled pockets and handed them out five by five. "Thank you! Make sure to take good care of your pet!" she winked before saying, "Next, please!" Giggling happily, she trudged through Diagon Alley, grateful that she had finally got her another half. "Akari," she mumbled joyfully.
