The bell rang as Elena walked into the store. The library was overflowded with books, shelves threatening to collapse and stacks going up to the ceiling. Elena spinned around, marveled. It didn't matter if it was already the fifth time she walked into Flourish and Botts, the shop still had the very same effect on her : pure amazement. Libraires were her sanctuary, but this ? It was heaven

That was why she practicaly begged her mom to return there one last time. Bookstore brought her a sense of inner peace nothing in the world has matched before.

Walking amongts the shelves, Elena ran her finger on the dusty books's spines, coughing slightly when that dusk filled her lungs. She stopped in front of an unknown book, its leather cover used by time. Elena gently grabbed it, opening it.

A dragon was drawn on the very first page. She ran her finger across his wings, marveled. It's so beautiful... She slightly stepped back to get a better light.

Rose stepped into Flourish and Blotts for the first time, with wide eyes and excitement. The moment she crossed the threshold, she was enveloped by the rich scent of parchment and ink. Shelves upon shelves of books towered above her, filled with texts on every imaginable subject. The store was a labyrinth of knowledge, and Rose couldn't wait to explore every corner.

She walked slowly, her fingers brushing the spines of the books. Titles glittered in gold and silver, some whispering softly as she passed. Rose's gaze darted from one section to another, her curiosity piqued by everything from ancient runes to modern spell-casting techniques. She felt like a child in a candy store, overwhelmed by the sheer volume of information

As she wandered deeper into the store, she found herself drawn to a section on magical creatures. She picked up a heavy tome, its cover adorned with a fierce dragon. The book was surprisingly warm to the touch as if it contained a living essence. Rose flipped through the pages, captivated by the detailed illustrations and descriptions.

Completely, engrossed in her reading, Rose took an inadvertent step back, bumping into another girl. Startled, she looked up quickly, clutching the book to her chest. Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she realized what had happened.

"I'm so sorry," Rose said softly, her voice tinged with nervousness. She glanced around briefly, noticing the bustling environment of the shop for the first time since she had picked up the book. The other shoppers moved about, engrossed in their own quests for knowledge and magic.

Rose's thoughts raced as she wondered how the girl would react. Would she be annoyed, or would she brush it off? Rose hoped for the latter, eager to make a new friend before the school year began. Taking a deep breath, she prepared herself for whatever response might come, clutching her precious book tightly.

Flourish and Blotts. The store was filled to the brim with knowledge that Danielle's eager Ravenclaw mind ached to discover and find. Danielle had been at her grandparent's estate in France for the first week of her summer break. Danielle didn't mind, yet she was secretly bothered by the fact that her father decided he had no time to say hello to his children who had been away at the boarding school all year. Thankfully, the beautiful French Countryside cured her negative feelings.

Now, Dani, her grandma Louise, and her little sister Charlotte were on a girl's day shopping trip before the three Alden children were to return to their family residence back in Southampton. Her grandma Louise had noticed her lingering stares at the bookstore and couldn't help but give the young girl some galleons and freedom to go choose a book or two while she took Charlotte down the street for ice cream.

Dani had no complaints as she stepped into the busy store, breathing in the scent of parchment, ink, and older books. Weaving her way through the crouded shop, Danielle made her way back towards the section which held information on Magical Beasts and other creatures.

Finally approaching the section she wanted, Dani began to scan the books, her hand running gently oven the spine of the books as she searched the titles. "Excuse me." she said softly as she approached a few girls in the way of her path. She smiled softly at the duo, noticing the books in their arms. It seems she'd found a few more book lovers.

Lost in her thoughts, Elena ran her fingers on the yellow paper. The heavy red book was indeed a dragon encyclopedia, each page heavily detailled. Suddenly, she felt something bumping into her. Surprised, she raised her eyes and faced a young brown-haired girl. Her wavy hair framed her face, and her hazel eyes stared at Elena with an anxious look.

"I'm so sorry," the girl immediatly said, her voice tinged with nervousness. Elena stared back at her for a second, before snapping out of it and smiling. "No problem, I wasn't looking where I was either." she said, chuckling.

She slightly tilted her head, nodding towards the large book the girl was holding. "What is that about ?" Before she could answer, a voice raised behind them. "Excuse me." someone said softly. Elena turned around, facing this time a blonde girl, with stunning blue eyes. A few second later, understanding the girl wanted to pass, she stepped back. She kept her mouth closed, too shy to start the conversation.

She forced herself to relax, remembering how people said she looked too closed at first glance. Those girls seemed nice. Elena really wanted them to like her. Should I say something ? Ask them a question ? Would I appear pushy if I asked for their names ? Her heart bumped loudly in her chest, her fingers tightening around her book.

Rose felt her heart skip a beat as she stood in the crowded bookshop, trying to collect herself after the accidental bump. The warmth of embarrassment still tinged her cheeks as she glanced nervously at the girl she had just apologized to. The girl had beautiful dirty blonde hair, freckles scattered across her nose, and striking grey-blue eyes that seemed to hold both curiosity and a touch of anxiety. Rose noticed a thin scar next to her chin, a small detail that made her wonder about the story behind it.

Rose took a deep breath, reminding herself to stay calm and confident. She clutched the book on dragons tightly, the familiar weight of the book providing a strange comfort.

The girl began to ask Rose something, probably about the book she was holding, but her anxiety had caused her to miss the question entirely, leaving her flustered and unsure of herself. Before Rose had time to ask her to repeat the question, another girl approached them.

"Excuse me", the girl said quietly, smiling as she navigated through the crowded shop. Rose felt a surge of determination. She wanted to make a good impression, to prove to herself that she could handle this social situation.

"Hello! Are you here to find a book too?" Rose said, her voice growing a bit stronger with each word. She looked between the two girls, hoping to include both in the conversation. "I was just talking to... um..." She glanced at the first girl, realizing they hadn't exchanged names yet. "What's your name?" she asked softly, a blush creeping back up her cheeks.

The first girl, had a frown on her face as she analyzed and observed. Danielle assumed it was a habit. Her dirty blonde hair looked darker in the dimmer lighting of the shop as she clutched her book tighter, anxiety seeming to radiate off the girl. The second girl, looked slightly less nervous, she too gripping a book tightly. Danielle squinted slightly, finally reading off the title to be about dragons. The second girl began speaking, her confidence growing as she asked questions and began some basic conversation.

"Yeah! I am." she said softly, "My grandmother gave me some galleons and told me to go pick out a couple. I'm hoping I'll be able to take them to Camp with me." She spoke, smiling.

The Hogwarts Summer Camp was a bit of an interesting subject for Danielle. She knew her father was sending her and her brother there so he wouldn't have to keep them with their grandparents all summer long. Her sister, on the other hand, was being sent to a summer camp for younger witches and wizards who weren't quite old enough to attend the Hogwarts Summer Camp. Nevertheless, Dani kept an optimistic attitude about Camp, hoping that it would be a great way to make new friends over the summer.

"I'm Danielle Alden, by the way." She introduced. "Second year Ravenclaw." She paused for a second before asking another question. With their wide eyes full of curiosity and anxiety, she was sure they were the incoming first years. "Are you guys some of the incoming first years?"

Flourish and Bott was slowly staring to get more crowded, eager students and attentive readers flowing in. However, a calm bubble seemed to surround the three girls, making Elena feel at peace. The smell of old parchment lingered in the air, and the lights flickered above their heads.

As Elena observed the two girls, her sixth sense on high alert, the brunette spoke up. "Hello! Are you here to find a book too?" she said. "I was just talking to... um..." She glanced at Elena, who tilted her head slightly. "What's your name?" she asked. Elena tightened her grip on her book, praying her voice wouldn't tremble. "Elena."

I should ask her too, right? That's how it's done, isn't it?

Before she could speak, the other girl chimed in, mentioning that she was going to summer camp. Elena looked up, her eyebrows raised, and a small smile broke through her voice as she spoke. "You're going to summer camp? Which tent are you in?"

The brunette beside her fidgeted. "Are you guys some of the incoming first years?", Danielle asked. Elena nodded, turning to the other girl. "I mean, I am."

Elena started to open up little by little, seeing the friendly attitudes of the other two. She looked at Danielle. "Do you know which books you're going to get?"

Rose felt a wave of relief as the conversation continued, her initial anxiety slowly ebbing away. The blonde girl, who introduced herself as Danielle, seemed friendly and approachable. Rose was intrigued by the mention of Hogwarts Summer Camp.

While talking, Rose learned that Danielle was a second-year while Elena was also an incoming first-year. She felt a kinship with Elena, recognizing the same anxiety she often felt herself.

While Elena and Danielle talked, Rose's thoughts raced. She imagine herself at the summer camp, surrounded by new friends and exciting activities. The idea of possibly being in the same tent as these two girls filled her with hope. They seemed kind and welcoming, and she already felt a connection with them. Maybe they could be her first real friends at Hogwarts.

"You're going to summer camp? Which tent are you in?

With this question, it seemed that Elena might be having the same thoughts as Rose. Rose's mind buzzed with anticipation of her answer. She wanted to know more about the camp.

After some more conversation between Elena and Danielle, Rose got up the courage to introduce the subject of camp again. "I've heard that Summer Camp is pretty amazing! Do either of you already have a tent? If not, maybe we could find one together!"

Rose hoped they could all be in the same tent, sharing stories and adventures. For the first time, the nervousness about starting at Hogwarts seemed to fade, replaced by the thrill of new friendships!
