O.W.L. Exam Studies

There is a time for focus and now was the time for Tristan. It was the time for O.W.Ls and his goal was to succeed at all of them. There would be no Trolls from him. He would not let himself fail as such. There was no guarantee of course but oh, he would study hard into the night to ensure that he knew the majority of the test's contents. Today was the day to study for Defense against the Dark Arts, a subject, that those who knew him would say was his favorite subject. He was interested in the Dark Arts not in the way that others may be but curious about the reasons why anyone would fall into its temptations. When he was younger, he had hoped to delve into dark magic in order to be as powerful as he could be, but now he sought the opposite, to be successful at defending against any and every dark magic or creature that could harm the people around him. Although Tristan's goal was to advocate for revolution, a revolution for a future where Muggles could be saved with magic in dangerous situations and Wizards could hopefully one day invent a way to combine electricity with their magic, in order to learn the scientific marvels of the muggle world, he knew that first, he would need to pass all his O.W.Ls so that he could one day have the knowledge and wisdom necessary to fight for his dream. He hoped to start by creating a program where wixen could travel into the muggle world and be taught by squibs, scientific reasoning and technological skills, with no magic allowed. In essence, wixen would get the experience of being a muggle. Then he hoped to create a program where wixen children could learn the necessary schooling equivalent to what the muggles learn all the way to university so that they could unite both the muggle and wixen world in a sense, so that when muggleborns entered wixen society, both sides could be informed of their respective worlds.

Logan sat nearly silent in the library, listening to the flipping of pages and muttering of other students as many others studied around her. Sitting in front of her were multiple pieces of parchment, a few quills, ink, and several Care of Magical Creatures books. The Hufflepuff wanted to do well on all of her exams, but the COMC OWLS was the most important if she wanted work with magical creatures in the future.

It had not been until recently that Logan decided she wanted to work with magical creatures, having gone through a phase of wanting to become a mediwitch as well as a phase of wanting to be a dance teacher. It was becoming a magical creatures rancher that had hit her mind the most recently and she decided that maybe taking care of magical horses the rest of her life was not that bad of a job in the end.

Humming to herself, the brunette flipped to the next page of the book she was currently on and skimmed through the information, scribbling down the notes that she knew she would need to review again before the exams. At least it was something she was very interested in and not something she was feeling forced into studying.

O.W.L. Exam Studies

In response to the stranger's question, Tristan replied, "Well, at first I would like to travel for a little bit, in the muggle world and in the wizarding world. After that, I hope to join either the Ministry or work in the muggle world. I do not have complete plans for my future but generally I hope to do research, or something of the sort. My name is Tristan Theramin by the way" He was certain that this person speaking to him was a stranger as he had never seen the student before but he was also a fifth year and supposedly the young woman was named Logan and was also a fifth year. He truly did not talk to anyone his age if this was the first time seeing anyone of his own year. He sometimes confused himself with how little friends he truly had in the school even though he talked to a lot of people. He was almost graduating soon and still all the people he talked to were random first years each year. It was hilarious at this point and something he needed to change if he wanted friends after he graduated. It would be quite embarrassing if he went into the Wixen World with no wizarding friends although he did plan to move out to the muggle world if possible so it would not matter if that happened.

Logan glanced up from her book, startled by the presence of the boy next to her and the sudden speaking. The Hufflepuff honestly had not expected anyone to actually come over and talk to her since most people were quietly studying. "Oh, hello" she muttered. She knew who Jacob was, but she could not say she actually knew anything about him other than that he was in Gryffindor and the same year as her.

Listening carefully, she looked over at the Slytherin who was brought into the conversation. "Those are both very interesting ideas." She began, speaking to them both. "Being an Auror is definitely going to be difficult but I believe working with Muggles or the Ministry could be just as interesting." Logan glanced back down at the book resting in front of her and marked the page just in case it was to accidentally get closed, she did not want to have to flip through the book again in an attempt to remember where she had previously been.

"It is nice to meet you Tristan, I am Logan Baird" The Hufflepuff smiled softly. She was not used to introducing herself to people as often anymore unless it was to younger students, but it was nearly impossible to meet every single person in the school with how large it was. The girl then remembered that she needed to actually answer the question. "I want to work with magical horses. I have worked with non-magical ones almost my entire life and would like to shift that to taking care of and training magical ones after graduation."

Tristan smiled and nodded in return to Logan’s comment about being an auror and replied, “Oh, why yes, actually, I considered becoming an auror because I romanticised becoming a dectective as a child. In some ways, I believe that I still want to be but directly in the muggle world. It is a sense of justice that drives me to desire such a career yet I also wish to do many other things and I do not know yet which one I shall eventually pursue. There is something enchanting about the prospect that I can do whatever career I so choose and I keep that door open. Perhaps I shall flit around and do many careers, from researcher to potioneer, from auror to writer. Above all however, I plan to advocate for Muggleborn rights and attempt to improve the stigma of blood status. Squibs and Muggleborns are just as equal as purebloods as I believe and there is nothing I would like more than a society that supports such a belief. Perhaps it is an unachievable dream but I hope to make it come true. The utopia that I completely dream for however is a world where magic was freely known to muggles so that we can heal their sick with our magic and save people when their muggle medicine cannot.”
