The Letter That Changes It All
date: June 30th, 2024 (last day of school!)
time: morning
interacting/mentioning: no one
OOC note: what happens next??
Hey, Spice.
Do you remember when your mum gave you that nickname? It seems like forever ago. Though, I suppose it was. You were only a baby when she decided on that nickname. I guess no one will have used it much since...
It's been so long, Spice. I saw you at the picnic, but that reunion was cut short. I wish I could have told you what I want to tell you in this letter. I hope you'll pass the message along to Kora and Cassie after you read this.
Before I tell you what I need to say, I have to ask: How are you going? I haven't spoken to you properly in a long time... I know you'll be studying at that school when you receive this, and I hope it's okay that I wrote to you while you stay there. I also understand that you'll get this on your last day of school. How does it feel to have finished your first year?
Ah, I'm just procrastinating what I really need to say. You'll understand better than anyone how much I tend to do that. I've been trying to cut down on how much I do that. There I go again.... I'm just going to blurt it out, I hope that's alright.
Sage, I'm sorry.
Seriously. I should have said it a long time ago, but I'm truly sorry. For everything. I shouldn't have kicked you, Cassie, and Kora out of the house when I found out. It's just that when I found out you shared the same gift your mother had, I was terrified. The way I was raised, I couldn't believe that the same thing showed in your mother, and now in you. I was scared it wouldn't be able to save you the same way it couldn't save her.
It was foolish for me to do what I did. I hope you'll understand the fear I had when I found out. I loved your mum very much, and believe it or not, I miss her. I miss you just as much as I miss her.
I am willing to try and be in your life. I was awful, and I hope you'll still accept me as your father. But I also get it if you turn your back on me for good. I didn't act like a father to you for most of your life, and look how that ended.
I hope you'll forgive me, my daughter.
Missing you always,
Christopher Albert Willows
