Interacting with @Remedy Norden

A nice stroll through the grounds. Tommy promised himself this time he would not do anything stupid on the grounds. Every other time he was here, his mischievous nature got the best of him. This time WOULD be different. It didn't take long for someone to catch Tommy's eye.

A girl with thick, straight black hair seemed to be brooding. She seems familiar. Where had he seen her face? Oh, of course the quidditch game! Why was she gloomy? She had won! Maybe a friendly face is all the girl wanted, someone to celebrate her win with. "Excuse me, I hope I'm not bothering you but you're a member of our house's quidditch team, right? You were really amazing at evading that bludger during the match, however if it was one I had hit you would have had no chance. Luckily for the both of us, we will be on the same team when I make the team!" Tommy tried to keep a serious face when talking to the girl, but mere seconds later his facade cracked. Not really a lie, a half hearted jest.

"I'm only kidding, of course, not about wanting to be a beater, but who would I be to taunt a member of our team? You must be amazing to have made the team as a first year. You'll only get better from here." Tommy thought if the girl was feeling down, then maybe a compliment would help. If anything, he did look up to the girl. Making the team as a first year was a big deal. What could Tommy offer the girl to keep him talking to him, making a friend on the team would be useful for two reasons: 1) He completely blew his prediction with June and 2) If he made one friend on the team he could not only work with them in a game but he could also have a practice partner and meet other members of the team.

What could make this girl feel better? "Unfortunately, I'm a little lacklustre at spells, or I'd suggest a competition to see who could Flipendo each other further, but alas it would be no competition." Come on brain, work, think, think, think, what would this student like? They were a chaser, they were alone and gloomy. What would Tommy want in this moment...

It was no use. Tommy didn't know the girl. How could he even possibly guess what she would like? It was uncomfortable, but Tommy thought it best to be honest. "I'm sorry, the truth is I saw you alone here and thought you looked sad, so I wanted to cheer you up." Tommy's face was a little red from embarrassment. Yes, he was still a kid, but he felt like a toddler. Pathetic. He knew what it was like to be alone and thought if he could make the girl less lonely for even a few minutes, it would be worth the effort, but how childish and immature would he come across due to all his foolish suggestions?
