Once her classes were over, Ash abandoned all her textbooks on her dormitory bed and hopped towards the owlery with her quill and parchment grinning. It was her first day in Hogwarts and she was super excited to tell her elder brother about her experiences as she had promised him.

ALEXXXXXXX!!!

Thanks for the chocolates!! How'd you find them? Where did Mum hide them? And what are you going to answer if she scolds you? Well, just tell her I stole them. She'll forget it till I come back home.

Anyway, how are you? Hope you're good. And how are Mum and Dad? Are they back from Aunt Marley's?

You know what, I've got loads of amazing stuff to tell you! Remember the girl we saw at the barrier between platforms 9 and 10? The one who had long brown hair? Her name's May Snow and we shared the same compartment and we're best friends now! I made one more friend- Sarah Sailor. They're really cool.

Hogwarts is enormous, a lot bigger than we imagined- it's a castle! It almost looks surreal. I'm not exaggerating.
I'm sorted into Hufflepuff house. You see, we've got four houses here- Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Slytherin, and Hufflepuff. Hufflepuff is for the loyal ones. Jeez, am I loyal? I never knew I was. But anyway, I love this house.
We had a lot of delicious food last night at the Great Hall. I've had a lot of desserts.

Now, about the classes, they're freaking so interesting!
I'm already in love with Charms, you know, spells and stuff like that. And Potions- it's more like chemistry and I like it too.
And flying! Yeah, flying!!! We can fly on brooms here! That one is the best part. I guess I'll apply for broom racing or Quidditch. Well, History of Magic is cool, but it made me a little sleepy today.

How was your school today?
And... I know it sounds hysterical, but I miss you. I mean, there's no one here I can annoy the crap out of, right? I know you know I'm kidding.
I just noticed I've written so long so I'll stop now. Enjoy your day without me!!

Are you serious the owl was scary? Come on, it's so cute! Never mind, I'll send you a scarier owl next time. Kidding. Many students have pets here. Should I get a pet next year too? And what should I get? An owl, a cat or a ferret? Well, spiders are cool too, but mum will probably kill me if I get one...

How are you, anyway? And how are mum and dad? Anything funny going on in the school? Who are Rose and Amelia disturbing this time?

How are you? Hope you're really good. How's school? And... how's the day treating you?
And what? Why are Rose and Amelia disturbing younger students? And I did not expect this— how can Archie join them? I thought he was a good kid. Well, jokes on them..

Sorry I didn't write to you for almost two months... there were things I was caught up with here. I'm having a lot of fun here! Made a lot of friends in a little time, and they're cool!! I've learned a lot of stuff here lately— you can emit light out of your wand with a simple spell, which means you don't need torches and batteries here. I wish I could show you how to do it back at home, but we can't use magic outside Hogwarts unless we're seventeen.

How are mum and dad? Are they still busy like before?

I'll write to you again very soon, IF YOU'RE NOT BUSY WITH MAEVE. Bye!!
