Drake wondered, briefly, as he looked around at the many faces filling the hall, if perhaps his fears were shared by the other first years or those that had come before them. Though of course, he still wasn't entirely sure it was fear he was feeling and not over-excitement. It wouldn't have been the first time in his life that he had mistook one feeling for another.

White noise filled his ears when his name was called and he'd just about managed not to miss his cue to wander up to the platform. The stool felt cool beneath him despite the many who had sat on it before him. The hat hovered above his head and he waited with bated breath for the house that would become his part time home for the next seven years.

"Ah.. nervous and yet here you sit. One can only truly be brave when they are afraid.. Gryffindor!"

It was better than the kitchens, he thought for a brief moment, putting all of his worries from the train to bed and he couldn't help but smile as the table erupted in cheers and applause. He followed the noise to an empty seat and thanked those beside him as they patted his back with congratulations. He'd expected, perhaps one of his parents houses but that was not to be. The hat had placed him amongst lions and he certainly was no sheep.
