With his beloved Silver Arrow in hand, Aaron Jones was using the light of the moon to navigate as he flew up to the Astronomy tower. He was absolutely breaking rules to do this, but he was no stranger to that. After a very rebellious third year, he had taken to using the rules more like guidelines, especially when it came to flying. Being only allowed to fly on the Quidditch or Training pitch? That was such a ridiculous rule.Friday | 12 April 2024 | around 11:30 pm
The unwritten rule about not standing on the castle roofs was probably more reasonable, but Aaron didn't care. As he landed on top of the Astronomy tower, he did a quick glance through the windows. It was dark from what he could see. There were no classes at 11 on Friday nights, just one at 10. So his suggestion of meeting at 11:30 had been a precaution, hoping they'd have the tower to themselves. He suspected they wouldn't be on the tower for long anyway, if Amina's idea was anything like he was thinking.
Just that morning, he had met the Durmstrang witch while he was practicing his trick riding. The Hufflepuff and his snowy owl had been training some dives and some prop work together when she approached him and struck up a conversation. She seemed like a talented flier herself, and after just a few minutes of introductory banter (exchanging names, years, interests in flying), she had suggested they meet up for a competition.
"You seem like a worthy opponent. Let’s meet on your highest tower to see what Hogwarts students are made of. You might redeem the bad impression I have from them so far." The grin and wink that accompanied her words were ultimately harmless. He had a girlfriend whom he was loyal to, but the sixteen-year-old certainly didn't mind a cute girl's attention.
Aaron grinned when he saw Amina flying up to the tower just a few moments later. He was feeling pretty excited about the competition ahead, even if he didn't know for sure what it would be.
"Hey," Aaron greeted, a knowing grin on his lips as she landed near him. "Enjoy the view as you flew up here?" The view of the castle when flying in the night was pretty spectacular.

Amina was glad to finally feel the freedom again that always washed over her as soon as she took off with her loyal and fierce Silver Arrow. If her feet remained on the ground for too long it was like she lost touch with part of herself. And yet, she had been down there the whole day! BORING! She closed her eyes and enjoyed the cool wind that plucked on her black sweater and blew the red hair from her face. It was unusual for her to wear a dark color like that, but even Amina knew that what she was doing and yet planning to do, wasn’t exactly within the rules. Not that she cared. But better to remain unseen or someone would interrupt their funny little game.
The Durmstrang girl was more than thrilled that she had finally found a worthy opponent to do the ultimate dare with. From the first time she had laid eyes on this tower, she had been itching to try out what she had in mind. And if she could compete with an, admittedly rather cute, boy, all the better. That would give the whole thing an extra kick.
She casually laid down in a curve and described an arc around one of the smaller towers. She was actually surprised that she hadn't noticed Aaron before. He was the first Hogwarts student to share a similar passion for risky flying maneuvers as she did. How glad she had been when she had spotted him doing his tricks this morning. Truly impressive. Finally someone who could possibly keep up. Possibly. Well, time to find out, right?
As she headed for the parapet of the astronomy tower, she realized that he was already there. Good. She hadn't doubted for a second that he would show up. She thought she saw the same glow in him that made her heart beat faster. Love for adventure!
When headed down to land, her stomach jumped with anticipation. Her skin seemed to crackle with excitement and she wouldn't be surprised if she actually glowed in the dark. Not because of him, no. No boy in the world could make her nervous, but because of her incredible plan.
Before she even touched down, she skilfully jumped off her broom and caught it in her left hand. “Hi yourself!” Everytime she spoke English, her American accent came back to the surface. She returned his grin and her teeth flashed. “Pretty good view, alright!” Her grin deepened and then she made a sweeping gesture across the incredible lands. “And the lands aren't bad either from up here.” She stuck her tongue out at him and giggled before also stepping up to the seemingly dark windows to peer in.
Then she turned back to the boy, placed her free hand perkily on her hip and tilted her head. “Pretty good timing you picked. Not your first time ‘night flying’?”
Then she walked to the parapet and leaned dangerously far forwards so that she was only touching the ground with her toes to peer down. “That's perfect”’ She nodded and pushed herself off the railing to tip back onto her feet. “It's going to be amazing. Are you ready to make history?” Exaggeratedly pompous, she raised one arm in the air like the presenter of a Quidditch World Cup and turned to Aaron. Her cheeks were flushed with excitement. Damn, he really was cute. Hopefully, that didn’t distract her. But at the same time, she felt somewhat comfortable and calm with him, maybe even more focused. Interesting mix of impressions. He for sure was a special boy.

Aaron immediately took notice of the other girl's broom. He had seen it that morning on the pitch, but he just wanted to confirm it was the same one - a Silver Arrow. It meant they'd have the same broom for the endeavor ahead, putting them on equal grounds. Not that the broom mattered when in the hands of an experienced rider, but he certainly didn't want Amina saying that "having a worse broom" is why she lost against him. No excuses.
"Definitely not," Aaron answered with a chuckle, when she asked if this was his first night flying excursion. "Though I haven't been back to this particular spot in a while." Back in second year he'd tried to use the Astronomy tower as a jumping off point in an effort to go to space - a silly idea, he realized now that he was older - but it had been thwarted by the arrival of the Astronomy professor. That had resulted in his first ever detention. It had put him off breaking rules for a really long time, but once he'd gotten back into flying partway through third year, night flying was a pretty casual occurrence.
"And I imagine it's not your first time, either," he guessed about night flying, gesturing to her clothes. The all-black nature of them was smart, and Aaron had done the same thing. He was wearing a long-sleeved black Henley sweater and black joggers. It was an outfit chosen for both comfort and stealth, but maybe he should've thought more about aerodynamics given the competition ahead. No matter. His dark eyes lingered on her for a moment, thinking that the dark clothes were rather attractive on her, but he was pulled from that train of thought when she spoke again and gestured exaggeratedly.
"You still haven't told me what exactly we're going to be doing," Aaron reminded her, though he had a good guess. He couldn't help that he was grinning from ear-to-ear, he found her enthusiasm rather infectious. This would surely be fun. "And you haven't told me what we're competing for. Fame, glory, money?" He was teasing with the ideas he threw out, but he did want to know if there would be something on the line.

Of course it wasn't his first time flying at night. "Thought so. And yeah, definitely not my first night excursion either. They tried to pluck me from the castle roof every week at least once. Although, if I were you, I would come up here all the time. Worried girlfriend?” She rolled her eyes. That was the only thing she knew about that made her cool friends lame and careful. Maybe, it was the same way in England.
“Nice broom by the way.” Noticing the Silver Arrow, she made a small bow to Mr. Broom. Brooms were part of their body and needed to be acknowledged.
But back to Mr. Aaron. She tilted her head as her eyes slowly wandered over his appearance. He looked like he worked out - of course, with the tricks he was doing, he needed that strength. His outfit perfectly matched hers. They must have looked like flying ninjas. “I hope you went for pleasure rides and not assassinations, right? You look so stealthy you probably could sneak up like an owl on a mouse.” She looked into his friendly, handsome and open face again with mock concern. Shit, she would have loved to tousle his hair. But even she realized that they didn't know each other well enough for that. After all, this wasn't Slava.
He pulled her back to this world as he reminded her that she didn’t share the actual plan yet. “Oh, right. Don’t worry, you will love it!” She was sure of it. The fact that he was grinning playfully and mirroring her good humor and enthusiasm confirmed her impression. He was really into it, not to win, but because of the spirit of adventure. However, he had also raised a question that she had not yet thought about. Apart from the adrenaline rush and proving that you could take a risk, what was it all about?
Well, one thing at a time. She stepped back to the parapet, leaned casually against it and pointed her chin into the abyss.
”So the rules are quite simple. We jump. Down there, broom in hand, no flying. And it's all about who dares to fall the longest before breaking the fall with flying.” Her grin was now so wide that her eyes formed crescent moons and the broom in her hand absorbed the energy and vibrated slightly. It was at least as expectant as she was.
But there was one worry she wanted to dispel right away before her fairness was questioned. “And I've never done this myself. This is my first time.” If he'd let her, she'd give him a playful punch in the side. “I was saving it for someone special, so don't screw it up. You're doing pretty well so far.” The twinkle in her eyes emphasized the teasing tone.
Then she thoughtfully bit her lower lip.“But it's a good question, what are we betting on? Fame and honor is implicit, of course. But I'm absolutely prepared to go one better.” Her head jerked up and she began to beam again as a thought occurred to her. “Hey, what do you say we let the winner set the loser a task? Like a dare task, being the butler at breakfast or something?”

"No," Aaron shook his head almost immediately as Amina spoke of a worried girlfriend. "Well, I mean - girlfriend, yes. Worried, no. Well, of course she probably worries, but I've been trick riding since before we got together so she's used to my stunts. It's just she's not much of a flier herself, she worries about herself falling, not me," the Hufflepuff was rambling at this point, and he didn't know why he was overexplaining the situation with Opeila. Amina probably didn't care to hear about his love life.
"Oh, thanks, you too," Aaron said, grateful for the change of subject when Amina complimented the Silver Arrow. "I only got this back in January after saving for years," he explained. He could've mentioned that Opeila's Christmas gift had been the last few galleons needed to purchase the broom, but he didn't. "I had a Moontrimmer before this upgrade."
Aaron's grin morphed to a slight smirk when she mentioned him being an assassin, and he played along with the insinuation. "Well if I tell you my secrets, then I'd have to kill you, so best to keep you in the dark on that one," he said, winking at the mock concern she showed. He chuckled and walked closer, leaning his arms on the railing beside her and looking down over the edge. This was the tallest tower at Hogwarts castle, so the view of the castle below bathed in moonlight was a good one. As she finally explained the premise of the competition ahead, Aaron merely nodded along, a smirk on his lips as he looked over at her.
"Sounds like my kind of challenge," he said in a bit of a cocky manner. But you had to have confidence in a situation like this or there would be no chance of winning. Aaron could practically feel the adrenaline coursing through his veins already, and they hadn't even jumped. This would be fun, and he was buzzing with the excitement now that she had confirmed what he'd been thinking. He noticed the way her eyes twinkled in the moonlight as she spoke of never having done this before, and he couldn't help thinking that her excitement matching his own was an attractive quality.
Amina playfully punched Aaron's arm, helping to snap him out of that thought train. He fake grimaced, rubbing the spot she punched as if it had hurt, "You trying to wound me before the competition's even started? How unsportsmanlike." It would be clear he was just teasing her though. "Glad to hear you think I'm special though," he said, his tone turning cocky again and his smirk returning.
As she contemplated what they should be competing for, Aaron also tried to think of some ideas. Money was no fun, and the fame and glory were indeed implied. They'd have bragging rights over each other for quite some time. The idea of knowing her beyond just tonight was an enticing one to Aaron - the thought they may become good friends bonded over their love of adrenaline-filled flying. When Amina pitched the idea of a dare, it was Aaron's turn for twinkling eyes. His grin grew and he nodded as dare ideas flooded his mind.
"You've got yourself a deal," Aaron said, moving his Silver Arrow to his left hand and holding out the right one to Amina for a handshake. If she allowed it, he would not let go of her hand after the handshake. Instead he would step on top of the parapet wall and, with their hands already locked, he would help Amina onto the parapet beside him. Now standing on the edge, there was nothing between them and falling if they took a step forward. Aaron released her hand as he looked at her. "Ready?"

Amina bit back a chuckle as the boy went into a ramble about his girlfriend. Aw. He really must love her if he wanted to be with her although she wasn’t a flier. But he seemed to share his love for her with the one towards his broom. That was something she could relate with.
“Happy for you, dude. For your broom, I mean. I really love mine, too. I got it from my dad for my eleventh birthday. Oh, and happy for you too, that you found your match. I could never be with someone, who doesn’t love flying as much as I do.” She paused for a second and then shrugged with a cheeky grin. “And no one can ever match that so I am destined to be alone and spend my life loving what I do without anyone distracting me.”
Ooops, now she was the one rambling. She really wasn’t sad that she was alone. She loved Quidditch more than anything, so she didn’t feel like missing out. Buther resentment towards that topic came from first hand experience of what happened to friends and teammates who ended up in relationships. Love was an unnecessary distraction in her eyes that took people the freedom of flirting and kissing. Boring.
Thankfully, his topic of the assassin picked back up their normal mood and Amina smirked at his remark. “Pun intended?” She gestured around the dark night sky and stuck her tongue out at him again.
Well, two could play this game. She cleared her throat, struck a pose and put her hand over her heart, keeping up her concerned manner. "Oh no, I'm always innocent and don't want to be drawn into dark intrigues. Please don't tell and don’t kill me!" She raised her hand dramatically in defense and stepped back from him. She maintained her pose for exactly two seconds, then broke into a muffled giggle and joined him back at the railing.
While he was listening to her, the girl's eyes rested on his profile that stood out sharply against the starry sky. She couldn't deny that she felt attracted to him. Especially because he simply nodded during her explanations and looked just as excited as she felt. No hesitation, no flinching. He was brimming with confidence. Just like her. A true kindred spirit. She probably stared at him in fascination for a second too long, but Amina didn't care what others thought of her. After all, he really was fascinating.
However, due to her successful multitasking, he probably didn't even notice because she kept talking and her playful punch released the crackling tension that was in the air for her.
"Pff, a real champion doesn't let something like that throw him off track." She shook her head teasingly. “But thanks for pointing that out, princess. In future, I'll only touch you with silk gloves." She wiggled her eyebrows meaningfully and was on the verge of sticking her tongue out at him again. He tapped her cheeky side and gave her a valve. She enjoyed it to the full.
When he held out his hand to her to seal their deal, she took it without hesitation. His hand was warm and she felt a pleasant tingling sensation emanating from where they touched. Probably because of the tension in the air - the anticipation inflating inside her like a balloon.
She was so focused on the fact that they were about to jump that it took her a moment to realize that he was pulling her onto the railing with him.
She quickly straightened her shoulders and stood close to him so that they were almost touching. If he let her, his hand would still be in hers. His dark eyes sparkled mysteriously as he looked at her. “Ready. I count to three”
She turned towards the depth in front of them. They would have to jump away from the wall to avoid hitting it. Holding the broom firmly in her hand, she began to count. “One, two... three!”
At the same time, they jumped forwards, away from the tower. Amina let go of Aaron's hand (if she was still holding it) and then... she fell like a stone. And she seemed to have left her stomach at the top of the tower.
“Wooooooohooooooooooooooo!” Amina screamed out her excitement and enjoyed how the wind whipping her face tore the words straight from her lips. It roared in her ears and the electrifying tingling sensation shot through her body as adrenaline coursed through her. She spread her arms and legs to stabilize her fall and stop herself from whirling incessantly. It actually worked quite well.
The wind made her eyes water and she had to squint them into slits. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Aaron next to her, falling as fast as she was. He had not hesitated. Not a second. Man, this boy was awesome. As she was falling with him, she felt like he was the missing puzzle piece in her life, the person she was able to share those things with while her other partners in crime were busy with their love life. Maybe…
It was windless enough that they weren't blown towards the wall, which rushed past them with its many windows.
The broom in her hand vibrated and she tightened her grip on it. Damn, it was hard to make out the ground in the dark. There, a tree! That was a good clue. The Durmstrang felt her mind clearing. The cool focus she always felt in extreme situations pushed all other emotions aside. She had no time to look for Aaron anymore. It would be hard to tell who won if they couldn't keep track of each other.
It was almost time. The ground was approaching at breakneck speed.
Her Silver Arrow vibrated more strongly, almost a little impatiently. Just a little further. A little further still.
Just before she hit the ground, she pulled the broom underneath her and straightened the broomstick with maximum concentration and strength.
It almost felt as if the broomstick was going to shatter in her hands, the broom was fighting so hard to get horizontal and break its fall. And she succeeded. Just barely. Her feet brushed against the dew-wet grass and she came to a horizontal spurt just centimeters above it. However, the lawn was not level and Amina hit her knees against an uneven patch, lost her hard-won balance and was thrown from her broom. Because she was not high up anymore, she did not fall far, but she was so fast that she rolled over several times, as did her broom, which bounced across the ground next to her like a fallen mikado stick.
Each impact squeezed the air out of her body and when Amina finally came to rest on her back and her broom hit the ground beside her with a thud, she was sure that grass was sticking all over her clothes.
She struggled for air for a second, then blew the hair out of her eyes and began to laugh. Still no sound came out of her tortured lungs. Shaken by fits of giggles and the way she was lying there, it probably looked like she was badly injured, but nothing had happened. Just a few bruises.
Amina had never felt every muscle in her body so intensely. She felt so alive. That had been fabulous. Again!

Amina said she could never be with someone who didn't love flying as much as her, and that idea gave Aaron pause. It was true that Opeila was not a flier, but she did support him in his trick riding endeavors. She was one of his biggest fans - but is that only because she had to be? No, of course not. The thought was fleeting and left as quickly as it had come. Maybe because Amina made a joke next about being single forever. Aaron grinned to go along with the humor, "Maybe they won't match your exact level, but I guarantee I can surpass it."
"Pun always intended. My humor's one of my best selling points," Aaron told the Durmstrang girl. "Seems like it's one of yours too," he added, chuckling at her damsel-in-distress routine. He rolled his eyes playfully as she giggled, and then she went on to explain the challenge. After another playful routine around the silk glove bit, they were standing on the edge of the tower. Aaron had moved to release her hand once they were up there, but Amina held on. He hesitated, but ultimately let their hands stay together. They'd have to let go once they jumped anyway, and having a partner-in-crime for such a dangerous stunt? Well, it felt kind of nice to have someone there willing to jump beside him.
Aaron nodded as she said she would count to three. He could feel a rush in his ears already, but as he turned to look out at the darkness below, he focused on the sound of her voice. When she said three, they jumped. Everything that followed seemed to happen in slow motion, but also way too fast.
Their hands parted almost immediately - a safety necessity. Amina yelled, and so did Aaron. "Wooooooooooooooooooooooo!" His voice was being carried away by the wind, but the Hufflepuff was way too into the rush to be worried about getting caught at this point. He spread out his limbs, trying to adjust his body to the wind flying by so quickly. He could feel his stomach in his throat, but it was a good feeling. The feeling you get from a rollercoaster, knowing that it was just a fun ride. With one hand still gripping the handle of his Silver Arrow, he knew he had an escape route.
Dark eyes squinting against the wind, he focused on the little he could see from the moonlight. There she was - Amina. He couldn't make out the details, but the fact that she was there with her hair flying behind her - she was so impressive. He didn't know a single other person that would've actually done this - let alone been the one to suggest it. His eyes traveled down now, checking to see how close the ground was. They were cutting it close. Closer. Now a little too close. Aaron raised his eyes quickly to Amina's form again, but she wasn't making any moves to get her broom underneath her. Eyes back to the ground. Way too close. With only a few seconds left to confidently pull out of this fall, Aaron made the split-second decision to mount his broom. The Silver Arrow was moved beneath him, legs secured, and he began to pull the handle with all his might. It all happened quickly, but it was still long enough for him to process the skip in his own heartbeat when he doubted his own ability to pull up.
But no, Aaron was fine, he was flying just a couple meters above the ground now. He quickly did a 180 to look back and see if Amina was doing the same, but his eyes widened. She was only just now pulling out of her dive? The sixteen-year-old watched in awe as the witch successfully pulled out of her dive. She was... amazing. Fearless. But then came the crash as she tried to straighten herself.
"Amina!" he called in horror, zooming over to her as she rolled across the ground like a ragdoll. It was an awful sight considering he didn't know if she was okay. Aaron dismounted his broom in one easy movement, falling to his knees by her crumpled up form. When he saw her laughter, he released a breath he didn't realize he'd been holding.
"My god, Amina! Are you all right?" Aaron said, hands hovering over her body and unsure what to do. He pushed some hair out of her face to at least make eye contact with her, making sure she was actually alive and the fits of soundless giggles weren't just post-death shakes or something. Brown eyes met her pale green ones. "Do you want me to get the nurse? I could fly to the Hospital Wing right now," he offered, the idea of getting in trouble not even crossing his mind. "Just focus on breathing."

“Oh, please. Don’t make me laugh. You are in love” Amina pulled a face that expressed her disgust about people who felt that way (of course all in good fun). “Your attention is divided which already proves my point. And by the way” Her eyes sparkled with genuine passion. “No one loves flying more than I do. Believe me.”
The short flicker of jealous tension about the art of flying was gone quickly as they returned to their joking. She winked at him and her smile broadened even more. It spread from ear to ear. “Great selling point indeed, even if not the only one.” She wiggled her eyebrows and tilted her head with a cocky smirk as she agreed with his perception about her and her jokester side. “Like a pair of boots on a shelf. Both extremely funny, handsome and almost equally passionate about flying. ”
But enough talking, more action! Amina enjoyed that he didn’t pull his hand away when they stepped towards the edge, ready to jump. This was a moment that should be stepped (or more so jumped) into together. Bound to experience something great. Something amazing! She enjoyed the closness to another human. To someone willing to experience this with her.
And then they jumped. And woom. There she was on the ground, after being accompanied through the air by an amazing boy who now rushed to her rescue. He had screamed his joy into the night, just like her. He had jumped into nothingness with her. And now, he was shouting her name. She couldn’t deny that the fact he came to her and was so worried about her, touched her. The bond that had formed between them when they had been standing on the edge of nothing, felt stronger. Maybe it was just the rush of adrenaline in her veins, but she felt a warm feeling washing through her body as he was calling out to her.
Amina was still shaking when he landed next to her. Look at that, he pulled out before her. Or, Merlin forbid, he did it at the same time and managed not to crash?! Unfortunately, she neither was able to address her concern that he bet her nor make him see that she was okay. Her lungs were still struggling to retrieve air when his voice reached her ears. She couldn't tell him that she was okay, not a single sound created by her body, just the silent giggle and the radiant smile on her face. She didn’t even feel pain from the bruises. All she was able to access was the intense and overwhelming feeling of being alive.
And then his hand on her skin when he brushed the hair from her face. Still shaking and gasping for air, she looked into his dark eyes and for a moment, she just wanted to wipe the worry off his handsome face. He shouldn't cloud this wonderful moment with worry about her. She wanted him to be just as thrilled about the evening's adventure as she was. She wanted him to feel the same wild joy and connection she did.
Still struggling to breathe, she sat up and grabbed his arm to hold him back in case he really wanted to get on its broom and get someone to aid her. “Calm down, I’m… fine! Just… no air!”
She took some deep breaths and her lungs filled with air again. She coughed and laughed at the same time which probably sounded like the sneeze of a hippogriff. Then she finally had words again to express her feelings. “Wasn’t that absolutely amazing?!” Still holding his toned arm in her grip, she squeezed it even tighter, carried away by her excitement. “When did you start flying? Before me or at the same time?! Please don’t tell me I lost to a Hogwarts student!” She buried her face in her hands and parted her ring and pointer finger to peek at him, making sure he saw her one eye like a kid that was trying to catch a glimpse of something they were actually afraid of, ready to hide again any second.

As soon as he pushed the hair out of her face, the cut across her forehead and the blood were his center of focus. He could tell now she was alert and reactive, she just seemed like she was struggling to breathe. Was there a spell to help with that? Even as he thought of grabbing his wand, Aaron knew he wouldn't be much help. He wasn't the best caster, and didn't trust himself to perform healing spells on someone else. What if he messed up? But all the blood on Amina's forehead didn't look good, and her labored breathing was concerning.
Just as he truly contemplated grabbing his broom and riding for the Hospital Wing, Aaron felt Amina's hand on his arm. Her grip was incredibly weak, but it was clear she was trying to hold him back. She told him to calm down, prompting a frown on the sixteen-year-old's face. How was he supposed to be calm when she could hardly talk to him? But he took a deep breath as she did, only now realizing just how fast his heart was pumping. The thrill of the jump and the adrenaline in his veins still lingered, just masked by the immediate concern for his new friend. He watched her breathing stabilize as she finally took in air, and he felt a little calmer. She was probably incredibly bruised having impacted and rolled across the ground so much, but the only real evidence of injury he could see at the moment was the cut on her head. Ouch. Did she have a concussion?
Before he could ask, Amina seemed to get her energy back. The Durmstrang witch's grip on his arm tightened and she spoke of how amazing it was. A grin appeared on Aaron's face, happy that she could talk again. "It was pretty amazing," Aaron agreed, a sigh of relief escaping his lips. He relaxed slightly beside her, reliving the minute they spent falling. Gosh, he couldn't believe they'd actually just done that. He wondered if Jack would believe it. Opeila probably wouldn't be happy about it, but he was uninjured and surely she'd be impressed after the initial scolding. Aaron's eyes had traveled up to look at the Astronomy tower as he let himself feel the buzz of the jump, but he looked back at Amina again when she asked who had won. The sight of the blood on her face put him back in reality though. He shook his head, reaching forward and gently removing the hand she held over her face. If she looked down at her hand now, she'd see the blood on some of her fingers.
"Funny you're so concerned about losing when you're bleeding all over the place," he chuckled. Aaron wished he had a piece of cloth or something to wipe the blood from Amina's face, but he hadn't brought anything with him except his broom and wand. He grabbed his wand and considered using Episkey, but didn't trust himself. Instead, he used the wand to cast, "Diffindo." This cut the lower half of one of his sweater arms off, exposing his forearm, then he folded up the cloth before pressing it against Amina's forehead. "You have a head wound, hold this here and press hard." He was purposefully avoiding the "who won?" question so she wouldn't get distracted. But also because he'd have to tell her that she won. Best to put off her gloating.
"Tell me your full name," Aaron instructed next, taking his role as the uninjured one very seriously. Even if she was back to her more energetic self, he knew that adrenaline could keep the pain and injuries at bay for a little bit. And head injuries could be pretty serious. "Date, time, and place, too. We have to make sure you don't have a concussion." Not that he was an expert, but he'd had enough concussions to know these basic routine questions. If she failed them? He'd probably have to take her to the nurse - or maybe a Healer intern he knew? "And do you feel like you're gonna throw up or anything? That's also a sign, I think."

Amina was relieved he didn’t jump on his broom and stayed instead. Not because she needed company, of course, but because she didn’t need help or him to make a fuss about some small scratches and bruises. She definitely had lived through worse. For example, the time where Romeo almost killed her and smashed several bones in her body came to mind… This was nothing. She had no idea how badly her face looked since she didn’t feel the cut or the blood running over her features.
So, she must have looked kind of creepy, grinning like an idiot on drugs at the boy next covered in blood, as he relaxed and admitted that it indeed had been amazing.
“Blood? What are you…. oh..” Only when he removed her hands from her face, she noticed the moisture on her palms and face. Taken by surprise, she blinked a few times and then just casually wiped her hands off on her sleeves.
“Look at that, what a mess. Thankfully, I am not wearing something white or I would have a lot of explaining to do tomorrow.” She giggled and just got ready to use her shirt once more to clean her face, as he already jumped in and sacrificed part of his clothing too.
She automatically put her hand on his when he pressed the improvised bandage against her forehead to take over from him. Now that she knew it was there, she felt the pulsing sensation where the cut must be. Not too big of a deal. Romeo could fix her up later on. “Thank you, doc. Don’t worry. I had much worse, it’S just a scratch.” She smirked and shifted her weight, ready to get back on her feet, when he apparently decided that his doctor role wasn’t over yet.
“Amina Petrovic, at your service. Daughter of the great Bulgarian keeper Ioan Petrovic and the greatest chaser to be in all history.” She saluted with the free hand that was not pressing fabric against her head and straightened her back, another smile painting dimples on her cheeks. She would not let him get away with slipping on her most important question. She needed to know! “And it’s Friday, the 12th of April, reveal the winner o’clock. Not feeling sick or having a headache. No, Sir.”
Her eyes sparkled in anticipation and although she was still pressing the fabric against her head, she was hoping to present a very secure deminer, looking like a winner. “Come on, Hogwarts. Don’t leave me hanging. If you pulled out of the fall before me, it still would be a draw anyway. Since I didn’t finish with a perfect landing, so to say.” She rolled her eyes and raised her shoulders, to underline her willingness to admit to failure. As long as she actually made it longer than him.
