A new Friend
Lamona entered the Leaky Cauldron, and took off her coat, shaking the rain off it. She walked up to the counter, and ordered some stuff from the bar-keeper. Lamona sat down at an empty table and drummed her fingers on the hard wood, bored. She was lonely at Hogwarts, she had no friends to hang out. Lamona opened the first page of the ‘Daily Prophet’ and read it, closing it almost immediately. She had barely talked to anyone at school. Now Lamona regretted it.
After her drink arrived Lamona sipped it lightly, still thinking. She remembered the first time she had done magic, the electric thrill of it. How the rage had coursed though her, and the muggle boy had flown backwards and hit his head on the fountain. The only reason Lamona had come into this bar was to get dry, still sipping her drink she opened the ‘Daily Prophet’ again with a sigh. I’m lonely ,Lamona realised. In her village she had no friends as well, but she had her mother then at least. Now Lamona was truly alone. Vaguely she noticed someone else enter the bar as well, but wasn’t really looking. I wish I had a friend….

A new Friend

She didn't have a coat and there was little places where she could take shelter.
Just then, Ehsi remembered about the Leaky Cauldron. A bridge between muggles and witches and wizards.
She entered the Leaky Cauldron with soaked clothing and hair. She went up to the counter and ordered a hot drink.
London was not what she expected. Having not really been anywhere all her life Ehsi had this itching need to explore... I mean as long as she didn't use magic she couldn't get in trouble for going to the muggle world...right?
Ehsi received her drink and took a seat at one of the nearby tables.
A few tables down, Ehsi noticed a girl reading a page from the new issue of The Daily Prophet. She looks lonely... She remembers when she first came to Hogwarts with no friends and it her first time away from family, therefore, Ehsi willed herself to get up and go over there and start a conversation. Despite her low social battery telling her not to.
With half a mind and heart, Ehsi stood from her seat and walked towards the lonely girl.
"May I sit here?"

A new Friend
Lamona had been sitting at her table, reading the ‘Daily Prophet’, rather blankly.
Then a girl voice said “May I sit here?” It was the Slytherin girl.
Lamona started, “Oh, of course.” She said.
She glanced at the girl, studying her face Ah, it was Ehsilat Wilst, First Year. That was if Lamona remembered correctly.
“Your Ehsilat Wilst, right? I’m Lamona, Lamona Lith.” She said.
Lamona turned back to her newspaper, still sipping her drink, and drumming her fingers on the table again.
The air inside the Leaky Cauldron was cold, but at least warmer than the frigid outside.
“Cold.” Lamona muttered to herself.
Outside was a snow globe of white powder, flakes falling into snowdrifts.
Lamona had grown up in a cold environment so at least she was used to it.
Her life had been so happy before her father died, Lamona’s mother had been happier too.
But then her father had died, then her mother sunk into a deep state of depression.
Until then Lamona’s letter had come, and her mother had seemed to wake up.
She helped Lamona pack, and told her about Hogwarts.
Lamona’s mind was wandering, and she steadied her mind on reading the ‘Daily Prophet.’

A new Friend
The Leaky Cauldron was bustling as always. Even though I wasn't quite accustomed to the chilly air, I think I am dressed warmly enough. Being a first year, it's hard to make friends. While the sorting ceremony had just concluded and the castle has been familiarized to us all, I fail to find some forever friends to spin some mischief with! I am outgoing, yes, but it seems not all friendship sticks along at the beginning. Nevertheless, I am here to socialize! I usually can tell at a glance which table has the first years, but it seems like this place is filled with seniors. I make my way through, glancing one table to another, when I find a somewhat quiet table. No one dancing on the table with a butterbeer or playing any weird games with those magical chocolates they bought from somewhere. It felt as though they were getting to know each other, and seemed young enough to be first years! Nice. I hopped along to the seat with 2 Gryffindor girls and a Slytherin girl seated at a table. One had the Prophet in her hand, turning pages, the Slytherin girl seated by her, and the other Gryffindor girl looking awkwardly at the one holding the prophet.
I impulsively broke the ice.
"Hello! Myself Shubhangi! Can I join you lot?"

The Slytherin wizard looked up with a slight annoyance cascaded in her eyes. "Of course you can join us. Have a seat." Ehsilat offered, and as I sat down, continued, "It's nice to meet you, my name's Ehsilat Wilst, but please just call me Ehsi." she paused and took a sip of her tea. "So what brings you to the Leaky Cauldron?" she smiled at me politely.
"Nothing much really. I am out here to get to know about this place and socialize a little." I smiled as I slipped out a bar of chocolate from my pocket and started unwrapping it. I could see many students ordering up at the counter. Some a butterbeer, or perhaps some tea or coffee. There were many more odd colored brews being tossed around. I don't have much nickels on me to afford that, and plus, who knows what else I am allergic to. Anyhow, coming back to the convo, " To be honest, I have just entered Hogwarts, its a tough time to find friends to hang out with, so it's quite boring around here. No one seems too keen in having...you know, fun? I still await to be a part of the Quidditch Team. So, until then, life is quite boring."
I take a bite of my milk-heart-chocolate, and turn to Ehsi, "How about you? What brings you out here in this chilly weather?"
