Open to interaction with anyone!
Minor assumptions of reactions by Arden, like a nod or frown or shrug in reply, are okay. Just nothing too major that would be considered godmodding.
Outfit: Ivory coloured shirt with thin black (horizontal) stripes, and a moss green long-sleeve shirt underneath, both slightly oversized. Baggy emerald green cargo pants. Black high-top sneakers with dark red laces (just for design, the shoes use hook and loop straps) and white soles.
Arden speaks in a quiet voice that can vary from uncertain to impassive, with a clear English accent. Her accent is accurate to a native Filipino's when she speaks Tagalog, although her vocabulary in that language is very limited.

It’s a peaceful evening in Hogwarts. Classes had ended a while ago, but the sun is still high enough to shine its rays of light into the school. Arden has walked into the “Rehearsal Room”, her music binder tucked under her arm.
She’d played the piano since she was four. Thanks to her private lessons (which she took against her will), Arden could sightread most moderate to advanced sheet music without as much as a stumble.
Now, if only she was that good at the piccolo. She rolls her eyes, grinning to herself wryly.
Walking over to the grand piano, Arden sits down on the bench and quickly skims through her binder. Her mum had provided her with a few (muggle) music books, from classical to modern songs, to make sure she would practice at least a little during her year away from home and wouldn’t completely forget how to play the piano.
Arden takes out a book and flips over the pages.
Something Just Like This
Set Fire to the Rain
A Sky Full of Stars
Somewhere Only We Know
The last song catches her eye.
Arden nods to herself, setting the book on the music rack, and plays a quick A-major scale to test out the key signature. The countless chords filling up the pages make her feel unsure, but she’s heard this song a million times, so it shouldn’t be too much of an issue sightreading all.. that.
She takes a breath. Her hands find the first chord on the piano, and she begins to play.
The gentle melody, only a bit loud, floats through the air as she plays; she lifts the sustain pedal and immediately presses it down again, the tempo loud and steady in her head.
Arden isn’t one to get “lost in the music”. That’s how she gets distracted and forgets where to move her fingers. Instead, she listens to herself and minds the dynamics, trying to match her own sound with the original song she’s playing. It always works.
Mezzo-piano shrinks into piano right where the lyrics is supposed to come in. (Arden isn’t exactly the singing type, though.)
I walked across
an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand..
The rhythm has changed significantly. The chords have now mixed with dyads, almost fumbling Arden. (Almost, but she’s a master at figuring out things like these right at hand.)
I felt the earth
beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.
Oh, simple thing
where have you gone?
I’m getting old and I need something to rely on.
So tell me when
you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired, and I need somewhere to begin..
The song grows louder as she continues on into the second verse.

There’s two sides to having no friends:
1) There’s nobody behind you to protect your back.
2) There’s nobody there to stab it, either.

Emily wandered the Castle like a lost soul, the energy completely drained out of her and replaced with a substantial weight of boredom. She had revised enough for the summer exams and she hadn't seen anyone she knew for a while. Not only was the boredom gnawing at her but she was starting to get tired of being on her own too.
She climbed up the staircases and ran her finger along the bannisters as she ascended. She had never felt so devoid of activity in her life - it was a strange first for her given her tenacity for exploring. She guessed it wasn't the same when there was no one to talk with, let alone get active with. Even her secret strolls in the Forbidden Forest felt too quiet to excitedly write on in her journal.
Her head buzzed with emptiness until a distant voice managed to sneak its way into her ear. It made Emily stop and she listened closer. It came from the Rehearsal Room. She tiptoed to the door and peeked through the crack in the door. She got a glimpse of a girl singing confidently inside the room.
Emily knew nothing about music despite all the books she read on the topic, but she knew this girl was good. There was clearly energy in her voice as she sang. Emily couldn't help but smile a little at the passion she was putting behind it.
However, she accidentally leaned too far against the door and somehow managed to push it open until she was in full view. Emily's face turned pale as she stared at the girl.
"O-Oh... Heh... Hello," She waved with an awkward chuckle.
Emily, you nutter...

@Emily Shephard @Arden Sayre
First Year lessons were not that difficult, and she often found herself either in the Library reading, or, like she was now, strolling around and around the castle. There wasn't even a lot more to explore, now that she had spent a few months here.
And that's how she found herself on the fourth flour, and- guess who she saw? Emily. Her friend's brown hair was unmistakable. She was peering inside a room. Oho! Another place to explore! Elisa almost skipped to where Emily was standing.
From where she was now standing, she saw that there was someone inside the room already. A black haired girl, sitting at the piano. The piano! Elisa never knew there were Muggle musical instruments in Hogwarts! Not that she knew how to play music, but- wow. The piano really was big. Bigger than any one she had seen before.
Obviously, the girl had been playing the piano. She had music sheets laid open. And she might have been singing, too.
Elisa turned to look at Emily. "Hi! So... What's going on? Another awkward situation?" She grinned.
Just another afternoon of strolling aimlessly around the corridors. She had to admit it, she was bored. Bored, here at Hogwarts. Elisa wouldn't have believed that if she told her past self, that she would literally, be bored, at Hogwarts, the greatest school of magic there was! But she really was.
