The Perfect Friend For Me
Liliafax sat on a bench and stared at her wand. The sun seemed to shimmer off it, it was as if she could feel the magic inside. The wind tickled her cheeks, blowing strands of hair from her face. She looked at her father. He was still talking to the man with the black beard. His voice was gruff, but friendly. He made eye contact with Liliafax, but she quickly looked away. Her father noticed and pointed to the shop in front of them. Liliafax squinted against the bright sun. She stood up and walked over to the entrance. She opened the door and smiled. The store was filled with animals. She scratched a cat 's chin before observing a speckled toad. A gentle hoot turned her head towards the owls. A tawny brown owl with golden eyes booted again. She stroked it. It was a beautiful bird, no doubt. But before she picked him up, a white owl caught her eye. It was sitting in the corner, with its ocean blue eyes fixed on her. The snowy owl had something special about her. She and Liliafax had a connection. She lifted the silver cage it was perched in. She brought the bird to the counter. A witch soon greeted her. Liliafax paid for the owl and brought her outside. The wind was really blowing now, and the little owl cowered against the force. Liliafax brought her over to the bench, with all her other supplies. The man left, and Liliafax stared into the owl 's eyes. She named the owl Lumina, and stroked her new friend. The owl hooted quietly. Liliafax knew they were going to be good friends.
