It was a warm Saturday morning, the clouds in the sky taking various shapes, as the sun warmed the earth. Regardless of the rather early time of day, Diagon Alley bustled with many witches and wizards of various ages. The young witches and wizards stared at the newest brooms and the oldest of the witches and wizards sat and had a conversation between themselves.
Ehsilat walked through Diagon Alley with a small smile on her face. She was incredibly happy today, seeing as though she had finally saved up enough money to buy a pet.
She didn't know exactly what kind of animal friend she'd want, but she did know she wanted a lifelong companion. Her parents had said she couldn't have a pet until she was older and could take care of it. She'd longed for a companion all this time and now she could finally get one!
Ehsi continued to walk at a regular pace, taking in the many sights Diagon Alley had to offer, she walked passed Ollivanders and even the ice cream parlour, 'till she stumbled upon the Magical Menagerie. Finally,I swear it took forever to get here.
Ehsilat entered the shop to find an array of different kind of animals. Warm and cold blooded. Rabbits and Rats, Lizards and Cats. They had them all!
Ehsi walked around the shop glancing at all the animals and pet products on some shelves. Suddenly, a tall old man emerged in front of her. He stood at about 6ft and stared down at her. Ehsi had to crane her neck upwards so that she could see his face. He wore a neat pair of glasses and had a bit of a pot belly, just as her father does!
Ehsi smiled at him. She was happy to be engaged in conversation and couldn't hold her excitement. She told the shop keeper all about her wanting to get a pet and about how she didn't even know what kind of pet she wanted specifically.
"Well dearest how about you start by thinking what kind of personality you'd want your greatest companion to have?"
Ehsilat thought about what the tall old man said.
"I want a pet that's super reliable and has amazing flexibility!"
"That's a great start!"
The kind old man guided her over to a section filled with little bunnies.
"How about these bunnies? They are quite energetic and flexible."
Ehsilat looked around They are quite cute...
A tiny bunny rabbit hopped over to her side thumping its feet on the floors, she bent down to pet the little bunny when suddenly a loud squawk echoed throughout the room. Ehsilat jumped at attention, immediately grabbing her wand ready to face any dangers. She looked over to the old man who seemed relatively calm "What was that sound?"
The man looked at her and laughed at hearty laugh What was so funny?
"Follow me" the man said as he walked towards a section filled with different kinds of birds. He walked with Ehsilat close behind him and stopped in front of a golden cage. There sat a beautiful brown owl. It almost looked golden as the sun shined down on it.
"This is Eilac. He's a Tawny Owl and as you can see quite the drama king." the man said with a small smile on his face.
"Why's he screaming?" Ehsilat asked him truly curious as she'd never seen an owl with Eilac's personality.
"That my dear is the effect of being spoilt for years"
Ehsilat stared at the brown owl as it immediately stopped screaming "I want this one."
The old man looked down on her and smiled "Then let's get you sorted out."
Ehsi's left the Magical Menagerie feeling warm inside, her new friend in her hands as she walked back to Hogwarts.
