Stopping Distractions of the Imagination
This was one of those rooms he was never sure what to make of. As while he loved reading books, he found the reality of the subject was a bit beyond him. After all, it was always easier to say that the perfect defense against someone casting a Incendio was to cast an Extinguo than to actually do it. A feat he was yet to manage in reality on either front - not that he was going to point that out.
After all, he was a Slytherin and had learned lesson number one of his house was to not point out ones own failings - it just gave ammo to others.
The catch was while he wasn’t sure of what to make of the subject the room itself was more than interesting. As often in class he’d glance and notice a strange object or even an oddly titled book that caught his imagination more than the class being taught. An imagination that tended to make up stories of how the weird object got into the castle, or what he thought the book was about. The result of which meant he’d usually been so distracted from lessons he missed the point.
Furthermore, considering he rarely tried to figure out what the thing actually was the same thing could distract him later with his imagination making up something completely different about it.
The pattern wasn’t practical, as his failures in spell casting were beginning to become a problem for him. Mostly a problem of pride. So he decided to give the room a good look as if he gave the objects and books a good look then perhaps he’d stop making up stories about them in his head during class.
Looking at the first bookshelf he came to in the room he said to himself “ Weird. “ Then his gauze looked at a book title and he smirked and said to himself “ Giant or Troll Territory “ with a chuckle he added “ Giant “. Then he reached out for the book with the name of some weird place and opened it trying to to see what kind of place it was about.

Stopping Distractions of the Imagination
Noah approached the room yawning. He was tired of being a third year, he wished he was in the same year as... well.. Nicholas. The fifteen year old sat down at a desk, laying his head down, the right side of his head on his arms as he laid on the desk. His youthful eyes but slowly blurring eyes as tears of exhaustion dripped out of the corner met its sight with a boy. Was he in the wrong class?
Was he too late for his own? Or was he not thinking straight. He really needed to get a decent sleep schedule so he wasn't both mentally and physically exhausted. His fathers argued with him over his extended break from Hogwarts that a lack of sleep would cause him to struggle in school, therefore he needed to hit the hay.
Noah stood up, rubbing his eyes and approaching the boy. "Hi, I'm Noah Jupe. I'm a Gryffindor." He threw his left hand out as if wanting to shake hands. If he didn't that was okay, he was not planning on leaving. "What are you up to?"
His eyes darted over to the door and back. "I'm a Third Year, though.. I admit I did not really put in any effort to learn any spells taught in this class this term, at least not right now. I'll work on them later, I'm just too tired. I know the Boggart Banishing Spell... but I don't know where the Boggarts are.." Maybe the boy wasn't interested in watching him, maybe he wanted to do something else. He didn't know.

He heard someone behind him introduce themselves and didn’t even turn as he said “ I’m Eli. “ Leaving off the rest of what Hogwarts seemed to deem required for an introduction. Mostly as those other bits didn’t really tell much about him. After all, he was still more than confused how he got in Slytherin and it had been months.
The question was what in the end distracted him from what he was looking at curiously and he smiled at Noah who seemed to either be tired or have dry eyes. He said “I’m just looking at the odd things in the classroom.“
With a nervous shrug he said "I’m not sure I want to know where the Boggarts are. Aren’t they the ones that turn into monsters that one is scared of.“ Or whatever the person was truly afraid of which he hoped was something not embarrassing and was a monster of some sort. After his experience with the sorting hat he wasn’t going to just assume what he feared most was what he expected.
Then he bit his lip nervously and said “But you said you could banish them right. Maybe they are inside something like a box or a cabinet?“ Which would make searching for boggarts potentially safe. Seeing a small box on the next desk over he opened it tilting the opening towards Noah as he jumped back and said "Like this". As if there was a boggart in the small box he opened he certainly didn’t want it aimed at him - though due to size he doubted it.
Now he was more curious about everything in the classroom - and oddly nervously scared.
