There is a first time for everything
There is a first time for everything. First time to speak. First time to walk. First time to dance. First time getting on stage. First time having friends over. First time showing signs of magic. And then first time getting your wand.
It was at the very beginning of August that Lily entered for the first time Ollivander's shop. The one she always looked at when she went shopping on the Diagon Alley, eager to one day take her first steps there and finally have a wand.
Her parents had left her at the entrance with just enough money to buy her wand. The wand. She wanted to experience that alone. To have the full experience just to herself.
It was like walking for the first time on stage, but instead of having spots on you making you blind, there was nearly no light.
Her steps echoed on the floor as she looked all around her. This is magic.
"Charlie Paracelse. I have waited for you."
Charlie nearly jumped from fear as an old wizard appeared.
"Sir Ollivander?"
"That is myself. Now now now, what will suit you best?"
Just like the old man appeared he disappeared again into his stock of wands. She heard a lot of noise, of "no", "maybe...", "well let's try this!"
Charlie was at the counter when Ollivander reappeared with a box and more importantly a wand inside it.
"I... I have waited all my life for this"
She took the wand and then....
"NO no no no definitely not"
And this went on, again and again and again... Until she heard a big "YES" from thr very back of an alley.
Ollivander came back with a wand that instantly caught Charlie's eyes. Like the wand was calling her. So she took it and the world disappeared. It was only her and the wand. Her and magic.
"my... my first wand" she whispered
"Yes dear, the perfect match. A mix between your mom's and your dad's. 30,7 cm chestnut wood and dragon heartstring. You will do just as great as them, or even more."
Ollivander smiled at her while she paid and went back outside were her parents where waiting with a surprise for her. Candice and Terry were here! And they had a big smile on their faces.
Today was going to be one of the best of her life.
