Akari had been going to the day program since she was nine, but this was her first official year!!
She was a first year!!! An actual first year!! She had a goal to get perfect grades all year. She hoped that maybe, if she studied hard enough, it could happen. Her parents had suggested she do sports as well, but... Akari didn't really want to. She had read plenty about the different sports, and while they WERE interesting, she just didn't want to be the person playing them. It would be very cool to watch...
Although she did want to get perfect grades, Akari really couldn't keep her mind on schoolwork! Like, there were so many more interesting things to think about! That prank she was planning to play on her cousin... The new friends she might meet... and to add on to that, she was finally a first year at a WIZARDING SCHOOl! She could finally be herself, she didn't have to worry about people finding out she was a witch, she was with other witches and wizards just like her!
As she continued walking, a sudden sound made her jump in surprise. She turned around to see what, or who it was.

It's been a month since Mateo set foot in the school, and he's very excited to be in the school, and so far, his robes aren't exactly the color they were when they were first given to him. They are a lavender color, but he's working on having them be a purple color.
Mateo was glad that his robes weren't pastel pink anymore, but he found it hard to concentrate on his school work, especially since he wants to make more friends, and he and his childhood friends are trying to get themselves onto the Quidditch team of the school.
Quidditch was pretty much in Mateo's blood, since both of his parents are famous Quidditch players. And they both went to different schools and are playing for different teams. Mateo's father attended Mahoutokoro, but Mateo's mother didn't, which is why, Mateo has a Spanish-Japanese name.
Mateo also didn't know what school he would be going to, which is why his parents didn't put him into the day program, and he didn't mind. He liked being homeschooled. It allowed him to learn more about Quidditch as well as a basic understanding of what he'll be learning at Mahoutokoro.
Mateo left the library and walked to their next class, but as he was walking, he wasn't looking where he was going, and walked straight into a statue, which made a big noise, but good thing is, Mateo wasn't hurt, nor did the statue fall. Mateo stepped away from the statue and saw a girl around his age turn around, probably startled from the sound.

She didn't recognize this person. Did they go to the day program? Why don't I remember them?
Akari had made quite a lot of friends during the day program. She had been going for THREE years, and she knew a bunch of people, maybe even everyone, or most people, and had made a lot of friends. She wasn't sure how she would feel if she had forgotten somebody. It almost felt like... an ending. Like if she forgot everyone, her life would change as she knew it. Even in my head that sounds weird and WAY too dramatic. And I'm overreacting. Akari told herself. Just because you forget ONE person... and they might not even have been in the program. Realizing that she had zoned out, Akari apologized and said, "Oh- um sorry. I zoned out.. did you say something?"
Akari winced slightly. She hoped that the boy wouldn't think she was being rude or ignorant. Maybe they could even become friends?

Mateo noticed that the girl looked relieved when she saw him. He then heard the girl ask if he was ok, even though he was perfectly fine and looked perfectly fine as well. He was about to answer, but he noticed that the girl had zoned out as soon as she had asked if he was ok. Mateo didn't want to speak, since he knew that she most likely wouldn't be able to hear him, so he took this time in trying to figure out if this girl will become his first friend or not.
Like the girl, Mateo was also zoned out, his mind wondering to all the possibilities of this girl becoming his friend or not, but whatever the relationship that they form is, he knows he'll be seeing her around a lot, since their in the same year.
Mateo returned to reality when he heard the girl apolozie and say that she had zoned out. He then heard her ask if he said anything, so he shook his head and held out his hand before saying,
"It's ok. I noticed you had zoned out. I kinda did too. Oh, and I didn't say anything. But, yeah, I'm ok. I wasn't looking where I was going, and bumped into the statue, nothing bad happened. I didn't mean to make any noise. Oh, I'm Mateo Yamamoto by the way. What's your name?"
