Emily was going to be a first year this year. Hopefully a Slytherin like she hoped. There was so much she wanted to buy but knew she had to save her galleons. But one thing that was number one on her list: a pet. Emily wanted a Pet so bad. She already knew the name she wanted and the type of pet she wanted.
She was currently at Fleurish and Blotts waiting for her family to finish looking through books. She got so impatient that she turned to her mother. "Mother may I please go to Magical Menagerie and go buy myself a pet?". Emily's mother was so tired of her asking that she nodded and gave her 30 galleons. "Yes go. Be at the Leaky Cauldron by 3 this afternoon." Emily nodded and took the money heading straight to the store.. She walked in and a little bell ran the minute the door opened and an tall elderly man turned to her with a smile. "Hello my name is Ernest . Here to buy a pet? What kind are you looking for?"
Emily gave the man a small smile. "Hello. I am looking for a owl. I don't know what breed I want as I dont know all the different breeds" she told the gentleman and he smiled and nodded. "There are several breeds. We sell several such as the Indian Eagle, the Great Horned, the Snowy, the Morepork, the Tawny, the Arctic, the Barred, the Eastern Screech, and the Great White owls." Ernest said as he led her around and showed her each different breed. Emily listened and asked, "What os the difference between the Snowy owl and the Artic owl?"
"The Arctic Owl is a large, white owl that is native to the Arctic regions. Males are almost all white, while the females have more flecks of black plumage. Most owls sleep during the day and hunt at night, but the arctic owl is active during the day - especially in the summertime.
Now Snowy Owl is a large owl that is recognisable due to its white feathers, yellow eyes and black beak. It is also active during the day Just like the Artic owl." Ernest explained as Emily walked over to an Artic owl. The owl loomed at her interestedly and she slowly poked her finger in the cage and rubbed its beak after it eyed her for a few minutes. "May I take this owl please?" she asked and Ernest nodded and took the owl out of its cage and put it in another cage and handed it to her while she payed his wife 15 galleons. She thanked the couple and took her owl back to her family. "I think I'll name you Luna or Lila."
