I've sat at this desk for several hours, just trying to figure out how to say hello to you. If I'm being completely honest with you, I'm terrible at this. Writing takes time because I sometimes struggle to sit still and think about what I want to say. I am quick to act but slow to think. I want to impress you, so I'm willing to choke out sweetness if that's what you want of me. Even now, I have a need to be unnaturally formal while writing this.
The point I'm trying to get to is, why are we using owls to write letters when we can just talk face-to-face? Not to mention, I'm still using George's god-forsaken owl, Cadmus, who is the most enormous prick of an animal.

To the esteemed Mr. Warren,
I must say I was genuinely surprised with your decision to write that letter. It is very considerate of you, and I had my doubts that you would take another step in what seemed to be a playful interaction. It is not that I had thought poorly of you, but it seemed as if a dangerous endeavour like this was not something you would be taking with all the seriousness and dignity.
Sincerity, Mr. Warren, is something that I value in a human being. It is better to be sincere about every single thought, slowly crawling around in your head, than to hide or lie, even if it's a white lie. There is simply no such thing, as lies tend to come back, biting you in the most unexpected areas.
When someone acts quickly — it is a sign of confidence and strength of character. And don't think low of yourself, quick-to-think behaviour happens in the same head. So it's either something slowing you down, or you're just not being honest with yourself.
As you mention that you are ready to 'choke off sweetness' as if it is me, who desires that, let me clarify that I have no expectations about anything from you. It is you who can write history, and it is you who can make choices that may or may not lead to whatever goal you desire to reach. You are free to use any language or figure of speech, any level of formality, as long as you're staying true to yourself, sincere in your heart, and clear in your head.
As for why I chose letters, it's simple: I needed to see how serious you were when you were saying the things you were saying. I am very busy with all the responsibilities I have and all the studying to do, so it is also more convenient for me to use my nighttime to write.
If you want to meet, you should find ways, but if you want to converse, the paper will listen.

I'm pumped that you got my letter. I was afraid that Cadmus was never going to deliver it. But to keep things brief, for my sanity in attempting to write, and yours for having to read it.
So, with that being said, name a time and place, and I will be there. We can continue our sparring match or move on to something more 'fun'. I enjoy the buzz when your eyes pierce through mine, and I hope to experience it soon.
