Clarke couldn't spend another moment in this household with his mother flitting around like an over excited bird. She was going room to room, singing loudly and swishing her wand, moving furniture around and cleaning up anything even a little out of place. Clarke knew she was having friends over that night for dinner and He didn't have a lot of interest to be around her then or now.

He watched his mom from the door way with his bag slung over his shoulder before clearing his throat and saying "I'm headed to the park."

She didn't look up from where she was fussing with some photoalbums she had found under the coffee table. "That sounds great honey! come back before dark," She called to him.

"I will," He promised, knowing she already stopped listening. He just rolled his eyes and headed out the door. The walk to the park wasn't far so Clarke took his time, enjoying the warm weather and the way the soft breeze felt against his face. He could smell the ocean from here and rejoiced in the way it all felt like home still.

Ever since his parents were divorced he was worried his mother would move him away and he wouldn't get to be so close to the ocean anymore. With Hogwarts coming up he was already going to have to spend most of the year away from it, but his mom seemed to love it here as much as he did.

Clarke eventually made it to the park and walked over to a picnic table, throwing his bad on it and sitting on the table, his feet on the bench. Just sitting out here was enough to clear his overactive mind, but still, he got bored easily. Clarke rifled around in his bag and pulled out the most recent chocolate frog card he had received from his father the last time they saw each other. It was some historic wizard Clarke hadn't heard about before and he didn't do much more than roll the card between his fingers. It felt smooth in his hand and he knew to the outside world it would just look like some sort of decorative card, so he wasn't worried about being noticed with it. Although part of him wondered what would happen if he did show it off to some unknowing muggle in his hometown.

Sorry I took so long to reply. I decided to take a quick bike ride before it rains.

Amara was thrilled to hear that her great grandmother was taking her out on a trip before the new school year started in September. Getting to see the sites of Falmouth was sure to make Amara feel closer with her great grandmother. Pendennis Castle, a castle built by Henry VIII; the many beautiful beaches (even though there were already enough beaches back in Whitby); the National Maritime Museum; St. Mawes Castle, and so many more places to visit. However, Amara was not so thrilled to hear how long the drive was going to be.

"At least seven hours?!" the redhead had exclaimed as the car pulled away away from Upgang Lane. At that time Amara hadn't a clue what she was going to do for seven whole hours in a car, but her worries were quickly put to rest as she came to discover that, despite being the age of nearly ninety years, her great grandmother had the voice of a should-of-been famous singer and the sense of humor of a should-of-been iconic comedian. The seven hour trip turned into what seemed like a quick ride of entertainment and fun. In fact, the ride wasn't even seven hours. The traffic was so clear the trip ended up only being four easy hours full of singing and joking.

The two arrived at the Falmouth Hotel and had their luggage taken up to their room. Amara ran up the stairs to their room and unlocked in, bursting in and looking around with excitement. The beds were made neatly with expensive looking blankets, the side tables had strange looking lamps. The room was beautiful, but it wasn't nearly as beautiful as the view outside the balcony. Amara hurried over and opened the double glass doors. From the balcony the ocean could be seen, heard, and even smelt. The salty breeze strung itself through Amara's furiously red hair. It was fresh and clean. Amara's emerald eyes looked around the land below before spotting a park that wasn't too far off. She smiled excitedly and turned around to see her great grandmother unpacking her suitcase.

"Great Grandmother?" she questioned. "Can I go down to the park? I need to stretch my legs really badly!" Her great grandmother looked to her, smiling and nodding.
"Of course, Amara," she answered in her elderly voice. "Just be careful, alright?" Amara nodded, giggling excitedly as she sped past her grandmother and by the doorman, down the stairs, and out the doors. Her eyes looked around wildly before she went on sprinting for the park, following the sidewalk. Those skinny legs of hers carried her all the way to the park. Amara's little heart was pounding, both from her sprinting and from her booming excitement. Her lungs were worn and out of air, though, by the time she had arrived at the park, and the best course of action was to sit and relax a moment before finding something to do.

Amara looked around a bit before finding a picnic table o settle at. She sat herself down, huffing for air and glancing around at the passer by-ers. It was then that she realized there was another boy sat across from her with brown hair and eyes, a tan, and a good collection of freckles like her. In his hands, he seemed to be holding what was a Chocolate Frog card with a historical figure on it. 'He must be a magical child, just like me!' she thought with much excitement. She looked to him with a welcoming and friendly grin. "Whoa, you have a card of Josiah Jackson??"

Clarke quirked an eyebrow up when he heard the girl across from him call out to him. He looked down at his card and saw the name Josiah Jackson printed on it before looking up to her and showing her the front of the card. "Good guess," He said back, "You collect them?" He asked, "My dad gave me this one."

He didn't collect them much or pay them too much attention. He was focused more on the chocolate inside of them whenever they were passed around. Back at home in a box he had a few that he kept that he knew to be extremely rare but he never went to look at them again. Some of the other wizards he grew up with were huge collectors, not to mention his father, so he knew it was something people did. Maybe something he was supposed to do as well?

"Is it a good one?" He asked, because he really wasn't sure he didn't even know who Jackson was although he seemed like a relatively serious man and the little blurb on the card said he was American, he still didn't know much. Clarke relished in the ability to talk to other magical children as well, especially living in a town so full of muggles like this one.

Amara shrugged a little. "He's pretty cool," she replied, the gears in her brain starting to turn quickly as she started to recall what she read from her magical history books her great grandmother gave her. "He was the first president of the Magical Congress of the United States of America. He helped with the problems of the Salem Witch Trials in, uuuuuh... 1693!" She grinned a bit with excitement, though her cheeks flushed a bit as she realized she was beginning to roll out more information that was probably wanted.

"Sorry," Amara apologized shyly. "I haven't met another magical child before. My parents are, uh, whatda call them... Mongles? Which I guess makes me Mongle-born... I live with my great grandmother, who's a witch, but I don't really know her well... Or much of anything about the magical world..." Her cheeks burned more as she realized that, again, she was speaking far too much about herself and asking less about the magical boy. "A-Anyway! I'm Amara Harmony, visiting from Whitby. I've never met another magical child before, so you must know a lot about the magical world!"

Amara rested her head on the palms of her hands, her emerald eyes bright with excitement and energy. "I'm, um, sorry for talking so much and so quickly," she apologized once again. "I'm just really excited to be here and to meet another magical child." She grinned a bit. "Tell me about you! What's your name?"

Clarke smiled and shook his head, he got off the picnic table he was sitting at and moved over to sit at hers. He didn't think it was a good idea to talk so openly about the wizarding world and if they were closer it would reduce the chance of any passerby's hearing them.

"Don't worry about it," He assured her, "My name's Clarke, and I'm used to it, my family is full of chatterboxes. It's cool that you know so much about the magical world and this card when you're just a muggle born. I'm a pureblood myself and I never cared to learn so much" he laughed, "but i guess it's all old news to me. Did you find out because you got a letter from Hogwarts? I bet it's a lot cooler to get that letter when you aren't expecting it."

He sighed and shrugged, "I Guess I know a good amount, I haven't studied it a lot but my dad is a pretty famous Quidditch player and both my parents went to Hogwarts. So I was raised in this world, even though I live in mostly muggle town now. But there's still a good amount of wizards and witches here. They have shops and everything that they keep secret from the muggles. But if you're looking for an encyclopedia I might not be able to help, I didn't even know who this guy is" he said and showed her the car again with a wry smile. "You can have it if you like," he offered.

"Oh, no," Amara said. "You can keep it! Grandmother gave me all of the ones she collected when she was younger." She grinned again and shook her head a bit. "I kinda found out about it before the letter. Well, not really. Just sorta, I guess. Um..." The redhead nervously fiddled with her red locks. "It wasn't the best way to find out, really. I kinda had these episodes of what great grandmothers calls 'accidental magic.'

"The first episodes occurred when I was like... eight, nine or something. I got so mad at this kid for lying to a teacher about being a bully, his pants sudden burst into flames!" She began to giggle a little. "You know, like 'Liar, liar pants on fire! Besides being funny, though, it kinda scared everyone in my class. Then another time, this woman kept saying real nasty things to an elderly lady, and I became so irritated that she suddenly went mute! And then.. um.."

Amara seemed to be losing her glow a bit. "I guess the final straw was when I became angry with my uncle and suddenly had an outburst of energy and made a really big mess of everything.. Then a few weeks later, after my birthday, we got that letter from, uh, Hogwarts!" Amara's glowing energy seemed to have returned. "My dad was super confused, but Mum knew what it was because her grandma was a witch, and so they sent me to go live with her now!"

After finally finishing with her story, Amara looked to Clarke with glowing eyes of curiosity. "But that's enough about me and my story. What about you? How did you find out about it? And whatsa Pure-Blood?"

"Oh yeah," Clarke nodded sympathetically, "Accidental magic happens to most of us. It's good that you had someone around who understood, I've heard stories from other muggle borns where their accidental magic was very misunderstood and got them in a lot of trouble. For me I got in trouble a little bit because I used my first accidental magic trick to steal a piece of candy from my grand mother" he laughed at the memory, "My mom didn't appreciate that really, but I had already eaten it so she couldn't really take it back."

He shrugged, "our stories are pretty different" he said, "I always knew, I was raised knowing. Being pure blood means both my parents are magical and so were their parents. I grew up knowing I was going to Hogwarts and that I was going to have accidental outbursts of magic" he waved his fingers around as if to mime accidental magic, "witches and wizards are taught to look out for that in their kids. Wandless magic is pretty difficult except for when you aren't trying I guess."

Clarke looked off into the distance at the park and tilted his head a little to the side as he thought about his childhood. "I guess I can't really recall the day I learned about magic. It's like trying to recall the day I knew the sky was blue or the first time I realize my mother was my mother. Those are just things you base your world around. That's what magic was like for me and most every other pureblood. Magic is just part of our world from the day we are born."

Amara nodded. "Ooooh, I see," she replied, sighing a bit. "I'm a bit nervous, though, about the whole thing... I mean, I'm really excited to go to Hogwarts, but I've never had to stay at school the entire school year. Muggle school was just go for like seven hours and then go home." Her green eyes looked to her newly made friend again. "I like you. I think we could be friends! I don't really have any anymore since I had to move in with my great grandmother... And to have another magical child be my friend would be most beneficial!"

After a quick moment of thought, an idea popped into the young girl's mind. "Say, since you're from here, Falmouth, do you think you could show me around a little? I'm just here on holiday with my great grandmother, so I don't really know where anything is. I've heard lots about the Pendennis Castle, built by Henry VIII. Or the, um, National Maritime Museum. But I really wanna see know about that St Mawes Castle, that Stalwart waterfront artillery fortress?"

Amara's mind was now buzzing with ideas of what to do in Falmouth. She had done her share of reading up on the sites to see on the coast there. She also tried to see if there were any secret magical towns nearby there, but to her misfortune, there were none that she could find.

Clarke nodded as he listened to her worries about Hogwarts, "yeah I can see how that could be hard if you're used to school being for only short amounts of time. But I think it's good to get away from your family every now and then. And from what I hear, soon Hogwarts becomes home and you don't want to leave for the summer at all. I feel like that's what'll happen to me," He shrugged.

Clarke let out a small smile when hearing everything she wanted to do around Falmouth. "I never really paid a lot of attention to all the muggle tourist attractions around here. My parents always said they were boring. There is some cool Wizarding stuff around here though. There's the Quidditch stadium! That's pretty cool. The Ministry has to hide it with an invisibility charm so muggles don't see it or the game being played," he told her. "I basically grew up there because that's where my dad plays when he's home."

When he said it he realized he wasn't totally sure where his dad was that night. He'd have to check the Quidditch schedule to see where he was supposed to be. Or maybe there wasn't even a game that night and his father was just in London or even here in Falmouth and Clarke just didn't know. Maybe the most worrying thing though was thatClarke wasn't concerned that he didn't know where his dad was. He was so used to it at this point it was just life.

I'm really sorry for not answering earlier. I was having myself a Harry Potter day yesterday and was traveling back home today.

Amara nodded to what Clarke was saying. She understood what he meant entirely. When she thought about it, to her, the entire magical world was a whole new mystery to be unraveled to her in the upcoming school year. All she knew now were a few things: collecting cards from chocolate frogs was cool, every wizard and witch has to have a wand, Muggle are humans who can't use magic, Quidditch is something, and that there were more types of wizards than Muggle-Borns.

However, out of everything Amara now knew, she was very interested in hearing the word "Quidditch." Her great grandmother had mentioned it, but didn't really talk about it. From what she knew, it was some sort of wizard sport played on broomsticks and that she was now in the very town that the national stadium was at! How someone could play a sport while flying was a complete mystery to Amara, but then hearing how Clarke's father was a Quidditch player eased her curiosity. Perhaps her newly made friend would be able to help her with understanding?

"I've heard of Quidditch," Amara piped up. "My great grandmother mentioned it to me once before, but all I know is that you play on broomsticks. I don't know anything else about it. I'd like to though, if you'd like to tell me." Amara started to feel rather embarrassed. She wished she knew more about the sport, or even more about the wizardly world in the first place. 'If I keep asking questions, he might become annoyed with me...' Amara thought gravely. 'He's a Pure-Blood, so he knows everything and is so used to it... But here I am with barely any wizardly history, annoying the only other magical child I've ever met to death with questions...'
