Professor I Beg Of Thee
There was no need for this boy to be in the classroom, honest to god, but it was simply just a way for him to be acknowledging his new professor. His brain told him she would be odder than Trelawney was, and he felt his brain was right.
His books were set down on his part of the table as he stared at the crystal balls with deep ponderance lurking deep in his mind.
Of course, maybe this 15-year-old would get lucky and snag a new boyfriend this year.. and that was PART of why he was there. If this professor was truly a nutcase like he thought she was, then he definitely would take the opposite of what she was teaching in her lessons.
Ah, that was why the boy was the smartest kid in his grade, and probably the reason why he was the oldest..
He threw his head down on his resting arms on the clothed table and tried to put himself to sleep. He continued to mumble under his breath, finding the incantation rather soothing. "Serenate." He would repeat that ten times before shutting his mouth and slamming his eyes shut as an attempt to actively sleep. He tried to empty his brain out so he wasn't distracting himself with thoughts.

Professor I Beg Of Thee
Sereia's Calming Presence is in effect
"Now, I want you to all try reading the residue in your cups. Try think back to your first lesson in tea leaf readings; reading coffee grounds is not so different." Sereia drank the rest of her coffee to reveal the residual beans in varying shapes. She smacked her lips a few times until the bitter taste vaguely sat on her tongue. Gods, she was not going to be able to sleep tonight.
"Try to remain calm and open-minded; most of divination is rooted in being able to clearly process even the foggiest of readings, so do not rush it. Okay?" Sereia paused to give them all time to respond. "When you're ready, go right ahead. Call me if you need anything! I'll walk around in a bit."
Sereia turned to the chalk board and began wiping away the nonsense scribbles that had accumulated. It took a few moments for the chatter to begin behind her, some of which she could tell wasn't relating to the lesson.
In the corner of her eye, she found a boy staring intently at the tablecloth. Sereia felt her soul evaporating. Was she really that boring? As she placed the board wipe down, she headed over to the sleeping boy and tapped his shoulder. "What's got you so mesmerised on the table?" She asked. They weren't doing crystal ball scrying since that was reserved for fourth years, so Sereia could only wonder what had the boy so intrigued that he wasn't looking at his coffee grounds.
