Home alone in my home away from home
Dear mother and father,
My first week at Hogwarts has already passed. Classes are going well, and I've also got some friends. Hogwarts is a place like home, a home away from home. I love it here, and I mostly feel at my ease. It's very fun to explore the castle, learn Defense Against the Dark Arts, and most other classes too. I'm learning a lot, both in the lessons and out. Slytherin, my new house, is just where I belong. The crowd is like me, and also the atmosphere in general. I miss you, but not so much that I don't like it here. It's the perfect balance.
The dorms are also great. You choose the best fit you, and the dorm you choose always fits your personality and character. I wish I could say so much more just in this letter, but I've got to go, to keep living my Hogwarts life. There's even fun activities like dueling, and quidditch! The also have broom racing, but I'm not really that interested in that.
Well, I've got to go, I'm going to keep exploring the castle on my Sunday off. Answer soon!
I love you,
Your daughter Lyra Snapdragon, 1st year, Slytherin
