Welcome to Ravenclaw | PV: Eden Blackwood Closed

Em sat down, halfway listening to Eden, and half watching the remainder of the first years being sorted.

The nerves in his system finally started to settle down, and the scene before him came into final focus. He was officially sorted; the anxiety that was fighting with him all day was finally satiated (though, replaced with a new dread of informing his Grandfather, though he figured he'd reach out to his parents first).

Em's previously all-black robes now donned a sapphire blue lining, and the crest on his chest transformed from the 'H' surrounded by the four colors of Hogwarts (Red, Green, Yellow, and Blue), to a bronze eagle infant of a shield of blue. Em quite liked how it looked, and quietly cheered for the other first years as they got seated.

Em refocused himself onto Eden, hoping that the boy didn't feel ignored. Em was just bit overwhelmed, as he was sure all first years were.

"I'm Em, really nice to meet you," Em smiled, reaching to take a gulp of pumpkin juice. He didn't realize how dry his mouth had gotten until now. "My Mom was a Ravenclaw. I'm sure she'll be excited. How was your train ride in?" He asked, casually trying to make conversation, without trying to pry.

Eden didn't cheer, disliking making unnecessary noise, but they clapped politely as each first-year was sorted.

Though some of their anxiety remained at being somewhere so loud and crowded, much of it receded now that they were no longer the center of attention. They started a bit as they realized their Hogwarts crest had been replaced with the shield of Ravenclaw but appreciated the color all the same. They did like blue, after all.

Despite having been speaking to Em, Eden still started a bit when he spoke. "Ah...nice to meet you as well," they replied with a somewhat weaker smile, but a smile nonetheless. They took a sip from their drink as well, a plain cup of water - Eden didn't much care for pumpkin juice and didn't enjoy trying new things, so they had decided to stick to the comfortingly familiar liquid. "My moms were in Gryffindor and Hufflepuff...I think my grandma might have been in Ravenclaw, though. I'll have to ask when I write them," Eden said, growing a bit more comfortable speaking to Em. "The train ride was..." They considered the question. They had sat alone in an empty compartment until a group of clamoring third-years had come in, seated themselves without asking, and proceeded not to speak to Eden for the remainder of the train ride. It had been rather uncomfortable, but the view out the window had been nice, at least. They finally settled on responding with, "...it was fine." They fiddled with their robes a bit, a nervous habit, and didn't meet Em's eyes.
