First Lesson

Emily scribbled frivolously in her parchment of notes while her eyes darted between them and the textbook. If there was one thing she could do, it was devour a book and every word written in it. The notes were there as physical proof for the Professor that she knew her stuff, otherwise she would happily recite the whole textbook proudly.

"Gargoyles". The list of new creatures just keeps growing. While she was no stranger to the term, the fact that there was a whole section dedicated towards them in the textbook solidified the theory that the world of magic was more expansive than Emily could possibly understand. Not for her first day, at least.

The fact that there was a section detailing a feud between them and wizards was surprising - but honestly, it shouldn't be given everything Emily was being put through. Wands, cauldrons and a talking hat were enough proof to show that she was yet still not in a dream.

She was starting to feel a wave of empathy upon learning of the Gargoyle Strike of 1911. Even for initially perceived inanimate objects, Emily couldn't help but give a face that showed her unease over such an event. It stuck with her as she continued to fill out a full roll of parchment on the topic alone.
