It must be a record. Minnie thought as she picked out what to wear. For someone to get invited to a birthday party for someone who they barely know by someone who they barely know-twice. I must be an idiot for agreeing to be in the party. Slipping on a brown shirt and jeans, she looked at herself in the mirror. "I hope I'm not under dressed. It is only a birthday party though." She bit her lip and then grabbed one of her few hair ties. Then she put her hair in a braid, now feeling ready for the party.

As she walked over to the birthday party area, she froze, remembering she'd forgotten to bring a present. Pepper imps! I hope no one notices. So Minnie sighed as she walked into the room-full of only one person. Canary creams! I'm early! In her mind, being early was almost as bad as being late. Both involved people looking at her and her blushing. Speaking of blushing, the blush started creeping up her cheeks. "Um...how early am I?" She asked, looking at the decorations instead of him. People better start showing up, because this is really embarrassing. She thought, then looked at him, hoping he would answer.

Leaf carefully folded up the wrapping paper around the box of sweets they had put together. Once the wrapping was complete, they wrote a little note on a small sheet of parchment, wishing Linda a happy birthday, before tucking it into an envelope and sticking it securely to the box.

Then, they rushed down the stairs from the Ravenclaw common room with the present held tightly under their arm. Soon enough (after a good long while running), Leaf arrived - out of breath - at the party, where two people were already. Minnie, they recognised her. And an older student, whom they had definitely seen before, but couldn't quite place a name on him. They placed the present in the corner and waited by a table nearby for more people to arrive.

Linda was not really someone they knew well at all, but thought maybe it would be nice to attend the party any way. After all, your birthday only happens once a year.

After a little time passed, Leaf began to grow bored of waiting, and so took out a book and began to read whilst sitting on the table because somehow that felt far more comfortable than sitting on a chair.

Kaitlyn skipped into the small hall, carrying two items. One was an impeccably wrapped gift, wrapped in Gryffindor scarlet and gold. Inside was a selection of freshly baked cookies of different varieties, each clearly marked. There were also two books. Both were muggle books. The first was a copy of one of her favorite muggle books, Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie. The second was a muggle Astronomy book, giving detailed accounts on how muggles viewed Astronomy and what they thought the different Zodiac signs meant. She was also carrying a tray of freshly baked chocolate chip scones.

Quickly noticing where to place the gifts, Kaitlyn slid her present next to the one that she saw. She noticed a guy there, no doubt the host for this party, her friend … crush …. good friend that she had a crush on, Minnie, and a third person she remembered from their pets playing around. “H-Hi!” She greeted in hopefully a friendly manner. “Um, I brought c-chocolate chip s-scones … W-where would y-you like t-these?” She asked. She looked to Minnie, giving her a bright smile and a cute little wave. “Hi,” she called out to Minnie and the other student.

Despite her 'extremely busy' schedule, Violet managed to create some time for the birthday party she was invited to. Having talked to an older student, not too long ago, she had started being less tense and had made her schedule a bit flexible, giving her some free time.
She did not know Linda personally but thought she could make some friends at the party and that is why she had decided to go. All she knew about Linda was that she was a second-year Gryffindor and that she was a broom racer. She had only been to one of the broom racing events held in the school but had found it interesting.
The young girl had written a letter to her mum asking for ideas for a perfect gift as soon as she had received the invitation. Her mother, in turn, had sent her a broom compass, and some cookies she had baked at home not too long ago, wrapped up in a Gryffindor-themed paper with her best regards. Violet was thankful that her mother had saved her indecisive self. She had decided to wear a simple dress to the party, cautious to neither be too underdressed nor to be too overdressed.
Fully dressed, she picked up the gift sliding a small bit of parchment into the packing, on which she had written in her best cursive writing.

Checking once again, making sure not to leave anything behind, she climbed down the common room, taking the stairs to reach the small hall where the party was being held.
As soon as she entered the hall, she looked around trying to find someone she recognised. Soon enough she found her dormate, Minnie and her dearest friend, Lyn. They were conversing with each other. She never knew they were close. She approached them, calling out "Hello Lyn! Hello Minnie!" She looked around to find other students before her too, two of them looking older than she was while the other one looked around the same age as her, and waved to them.

Quinn wasn't quite sure what to bring. She was currently in a situation where she was too nice for her own good. She was going to a party for someone she did not know. At all. It was a older girl named Linda. I hope I know someone at the party. Quinn thought. Quinn looked around then smiled. She did recodnize a certain somebody.
"Kait!" She shrieked. Her Quill Pal! The name Linda was familiar for a second. Oh-she hosted Minnie's party before I even knew Minnie or Kaitlyn! Quinn picked up her feet and sped walked over to Kaitlyn.
"Do you know Linda?" Quinn asked Kaitlyn. Quinn set her present -a spiral bound notebook- down and turned back to Kaitlyn. Those scones smell good! I wonder if she made them herself? Quinn wondered. Quinn tugged on her hair before she looked around the room to see if their was anyone else who stood out to her. Quinn noticed the guy who must be the host, and some other people who she didn't reallly know but had seen a little before. geez, everyone seems to know people and I only know one- Quinn’s thoughts trailed off. speaking of Minnie!

RP Date March 6, 2024 Speech Reducio "Ara's Speech" 'Thoughts'

It was just after class. Instead of going straight to the library, the black and white haired girl went straight to her dorm to change. She picked out a rather casual ensemble before going to the Small Hall. Linda was just supposed to be an acquaintance Ara would make at a family gathering but they actually turned out to be friends. She also became Ara's first ever friend from Hogwarts. It was quite delightful to have her as a friend for Ara. After all, they did show a common liking for music and gardening. But now it was Linda's birthday party which was set up by an upperclassman.

The Slytherin girl got in and realized 'Well I don't know anyone here...' She couldn't see anyone familiar and the people were mainly first years.

Ara held a light lavender bag with a gift for Linda inside of it but not like she knew where Linda was nor knew where to put it. The second year has her usual frown on her relaxed face as she subconsciously side-eyed the first years having a convo amongst themselves. Slowly, but surely she went to a not so crowded area of the room and leaned against the wall while observing everyone and everything just as much as she was observing silence.

As much as she hated people, Linda was quite a dear friend for she has helped Ara open up quite a bit to a person her own age. So, the girl had to make time for this birthday party thing.

But then Ara found a familiar looking face from the sidelines. Violet Rohr, a first year whom she'd met before the same way she met Linda but this was their second time meeting outside Ara's estate and inside Hogwarts. 'At least someone's familiar' she thought to herself. But since Violet was already talking to someone, the older Slytherin thought it would be best not to disturb the younger bunch. At this point, Ara looked like a Russian spy at a party planning to assassinate people with her unwelcoming glare but in reality she just didn't know anyone and wasn't planning to know anyone new either.

Reyna could not be late to this party. I mean it was her best friend's party after all. But of course, like half the things she did, she was late. This time it wasn't her fault though. her cat had somehow gotten out of the dorm and Reyna had had to go searching for it.
So then she had to change once again and so she was late. Of course. That was just how the world worked. So she ran through the halls with her gift so she wouldn't be too late for Linda's birthday party.
Linda was already here and she was talking to Ara who she also knew and was also her friend. She quietly snuck in and set her gift down on the table. It was a photo album from their time during the summer that she had carefully crafted with many pictures. She loved it and she hoped Linda would as well.
She waved at the others, at Linda and at Ara. She then stood next to a person in a black jacket who was sitting on a table. That was strange but Reyna was not about to say anything. And then I began to wait. I wasn't sure what was happening now. Were we supposed to sing or?
I didn't want to interrupt Linda and Ara from their reunion so I just stood there, fiddling with my nails and trying to pull cat hair off of clothes.
