If there was anything else Luna loved as much as magic it was performing arts. She was quite fascinated by them, whether they'd be theatre, dance or music. She was interested in performing as far as she could remember being alive in this word. Before Hogwarts, in usual school, following her curiousities watching other people perform, she wanted to join the arts. Since she was interested in all types of performing arts (excluding some type of dances) she had to choose one art to focus on, and she had chosen theatre (even though in her heart, music was very close!).
Her acting teacher had told her that she was quite natural on that role and that made her feel so good over the years. She still could recall the feeling of excitement mixed with a bit nervousness when they all completed their rehearsals and then they got on stage! There were many "main character"s in that play so the focus wasn't exclusively on Luna but she remembered doing a pretty good job and gaining lots of applauses after the play ended. Luna is still quite proud of that experience she had there.
Honestly, performing arts was one of the things that kept Luna happily occupied while waiting for her hogwarts letter, so she can't say she had just a boring time waiting!
It was such a good miracle that Hogwarts had a rehearsal room for those performing arts so Luna didn't have to give up on her multiple passions!
It was one of the days where she was trying to discover the whole Hogwarts castle..well at least the places she could go to, where was not forbidden or dangerous to be in. She didn't know Hogwarts had a rehearsal toom before, so when she found it out she was very delighted. The room was really big and tall, with a few musical instruments and more for the types of art. She was quietly singing to herself when she found a guitar next to a piano. She never played piano before but she knew how to play guitar a bit and enjoyed it, she even knew a few songs. So she got the guitar and started with playing a few chords and melodies. Then as she was thinking about which song to play the door opened..

Minnie was a bit of an all around nerd. She loved music, history, facts, art, and even theater. She also was a troublemaker, so you could say she knew it all. So she frequented the rehearsal room, playing the piano and violin and trying to compose a song she was calling, A Forest's Dream. No one seemed to go there or care it existed, so she hadn't seen anyone yet. So she was completely caught off guard when she stepped into the room to play and found someone already there.
"Gaa-!" Was all she said as she saw a girl her age playing the guitar. "Oh...I'm sorry." She squeaked. The girl had long ginger hair and amber eyes that were very pretty. She noticed that the girl seemed like she was pretty good at the guitar, and immediately felt bad about walking into her practice.
Say something! Her mind screamed. Don't just stand there like an idiot! Minnie finally came to her senses and swallowed, stepping backwards. "I didn't mean to walk into you practicing. Um...would you mind if I practiced here as well?" What did you just ask? I can't believe I said that. I don't want her to hear me singing the lyrics I'm trying to make up with this song. Or the fact that I'm really bad at composing A Forest's Dream! Ugg. This is not going to end well.

A sudden squake-like voice caught Luna out of guard and made her jump a bit, causing a very off sounding guitar string noise that made her wince. She immediately turned around and noticed a girl with blonde hair, an hufflepuff Luna assumed a first year like her. The blonde girl was quiet for a moment as Luna just watched her with anticipation. Then she noticed her stepping backwards from the ginger haired girl, was she nervous?
"I didn't mean to walk into you practicing. Um...would you mind if I practiced here as well?"
Oh so the girl seemed nervous indeed. Luna smiled in hopes to uplift her spirits a bit. She didn't really expect anyone here, she wasn't even sure if many students knew about the rehearsal room, Luna herself just learned about it 2 days ago!
Nevertheless, seeing someone else wasn't a problem, maybe it could even be a frienship in the end so Luna was quite open to the new girl.
"Hey dont worry about it" Luna assured the girl with a small wave and smile. "You can practice, I don't mind it!" Ginger girl got curious, "What are you gotta practice though?" She asked, narrowing her eyes a bit in a slight questioning mode.
She took notice of the girl's appearence a bit, she was wearing glasses and her skin was quite pale. Luna noticed a dragon shaped necklace on her neck. "Oh i like your necklace!" Well..Luna liked dragons.
"I didn't mean to walk into you practicing. Um...would you mind if I practiced here as well?"

Minnie swallowed as the girl asked her what she was practicing. I...ice mice! This isn't good. She then grasped onto the other thing she had said. "Oh...I...thank you. I love your hair." She replied quietly. "My name is Minnie Duke. I...I'm here to practice my violin." She finished, not exactly telling the whole truth. "Thanks for letting me practice with you."
But she seems so curious and innocent. Ugg. Minnie you are too nice for your own good! Even if you are a troublemaker. Snapping back to the present, Minnie shyly took out her music.
"Okay. Promise not to tell anyone?" But before the girl could answer, she started talking again. "Right. So...this music...isn't music someone else made. I made it. Or...am making it. I'm trying out composing and...um...yeah?" She ended awkwardly.
That went well. The dark part of her mind thought. Oh well, at least I got it over with. Let's set up so that you can bury yourself in music if you have to. So she went to her usual chair and set up her stand and started to take out her violin and rosin and tighten her bow. She finished that, and looked back up at the girl, expecting an answer.

The girl still seemed shy despite Luna's attempt to be encouragingly nice as she quietly complimented Luna back. She again smiled and nodded and before she could say thank you the blonde girl introduced herself as Minnie.
"...Thanks for letting me practice with you."
"No problem" She quickly said back. Then they both turned back to their instrument for a sec.
"Okay. Promise not to tell anyone?" Luna turned back to Minnie as she started talking again, but before she could reply "sure" or something like that Minnie continued her speech. Despite her shyness she seems quite talkative too, Luna thought.
"Oh you make your own music?" Luna felt genuinely interested in that. "That's so cool!"
She would love to make her own music too someday.. perhaps not with a violin but guitars and more.
In fact she could imagine it in detail now, with all the instrument noises, the band members (herself included) and even a big crowd shouting and cheering her own band who made their own music.
Luna might just have discovered a new dream..
"But why you seem so nervous about that? You didn't like what you made?" she asked as the other girl set up on a chair and took out her violin. Then Luna remembered that she didn't introduce herself yet.

"No...it's just that..." Minnie searched for the right word for her feelings, but found none instead, going with another answer. "I just get nervous." She finished. "And...thank you. Oh, erm...sorry for not letting you agree to not tell anyone, I just really wanted to finish saying it. And...Luna is a very pretty name." She looked away, blushing. Then she looked at the music and tried to focus.
What note to put next? It's so awkward composing with her here. Maybe I can put a low E? What if she asks to see it? Minnie shook her head, trying to clear the thoughts. "So...what are you going to play?" She asked. "Um..." She searched for a topic to talk about as she knew that she could focus with the thoughts swirling around in her head. She sighed inwardly as nothing came up.
