I've lived a thousand lives and I've loved a thousand loves. I've walked on distant worlds and seen the end of time- because I read.

2. Skeletons in your Closet
Art Form: Poem
When shadows start to creep
Across a clear cerulean sky
And the stars begin to whisper
And sunlight waves goodbye,

You can hear the trembling voices
Of the secrets found within,
As the skeletons we've locked away
Stir when the night begins

Their bones grate and clatter
As the people lay asleep,
They don't hear the tremor
Of those old creaky feet

They giggle and they chatter,
A simple, happy tune
Their legs loosen up and spring
Under the crescent moon

They laughed with the monsters
That hide under your bed
As she skeletons begin to dance,
What's hidden won't stay dead
Explanation: It's pretty self-explanatory. The poem just symbolizes secrets, fear, and, well, skeletons in your closet.

6. Facing the Darkness
Art Form: Writing
He was used to facing things alone. Not that he liked it- in fact, there was almost nothing worse than the agonizing fear and sense of dread that he felt while he was huddled all by himself, with no one there to tell him it was all in his head. The creepy-crawlies and toothy beasts that he feared above all else were closing in on him.

He was afraid of the dark.

It was nights like this that were the worst; the wind howled in its whispery, crackly voice and the rain pitter-pattered on the roof like the lurking feet of monsters that lived in the corners of his mind. It wasn't real, he knew, but somehow he couldn't convince himself. The boy huddled in his bed, the sheets tangled around his scrawny, sweaty body, his eyes squeezed shut against the shadows. Every shift of the crabapple tree outside his window was a ghost hunting him, ever flutter of a moth was a terrifying beast. A whimper escaped his lips, and he knew that he had to succumb. For the twelfth time in two weeks, he was knocking on his mother's door.

He knew she was exasperated. He knew that she needed to sleep, and that he needed to stay in his own room, and that every time he woke her up she was thinking here we go again. But he couldn't help it. When she opened the door, the boy said in a trembling voice,

"Mummy, I'm scared." And she knew that she was going to have a long night ahead of her. The woman led her son back to his room, their hands clasped so tightly together they could each feel the other's heartbeat. In a strange way, this calmed him.

"You need to go to bed and stay there, love," She told him with a sigh. His wide eyes looked into hers and he huddled tighter to her side.

"But the monsters will eat me." He insisted. The woman was well aware of the so-called monsters that haunted the child's nightmares, but no matter what she said he wouldn't believe her reassurances that they weren't real.

"Look, love." She flicked on the light and the roomwas bathed in the glow of the lightbulb, dispelling any creatures that were lurking in the moonless night. "All good." The boy reluctantly climbed back into bed, wrapping himself tightly in his blanket.

"Don't turn it off," He told his mother softly, and she suppressed a groan. She was exuasted, and she couldn't afford to waste electricity like that.

"What if," The woman slowly turned off the switch and went over to her son's bed. "I stay here," The boy nodded and closed his eyes. She curled up with her son, protecting him from the shadows, and closed her eyes as well. The little boy nestled into his mother, feeling safe and warm. For the first time in a while, he slept. The darkness couldn't hurt him anymore.

7. Love Story
Art Form: Poem

I remember when it happened, dear
The day that it all changed
When my heart deceived my mind
And the stars were rearranged

I wish that I could tell you,
That I no longer cared,
But the right words don't exist
So I turned my back and glared

But the world is too cold, my dear
To care about our feelings
So I guess I have to stay
Staring at these ceilings

Don't tell me that it hurts, my dear,
I know that it will
But nothing's changing if
We keep on standing still

Love can hurt and love can heal,
But only if you let it
And I promise you, my dear
I never will forget it.

9. Spring Into...
Art Form: Haiku
Petals on the grass
Stems are growing from the ground
Spring is here at last

What a lovely thing,
Daffodil, tulip, lilac
Flowers welcome me

Little speckled deer
She stumbles through the forest
Mother by her side

The raindrop will come,
Giving our own Mother Earth,
A chance to bloom
