The crowds are waiting
The names being shouted
Some parents cheering for their child
While others had unfortunately doubted

I walked across the stage
My name having been said
Looking at the crowd
seeing my pa nodding his head

I accept my accomplishment
with pride I walk
Having spent years working
not even having time to talk

Such a small piece of paper
just a few words
so much meaning
and yet so little

"Mylo, could you please come down? Your pa and I can't seem to figure this out." He had just finished off his latest drawing as they heard his dad asking them to come down. This was something that happened more often than you would think, and Mylo could already guess what it was going to be about. His pa had been talking about this new computer program that would help him make sheet music out of his composed piano pieces. This way he could easily distribute it to his students, unfortunately neither of their parents were very tech savvy.

"I'm coming! Give me a sec." He shouts back down, putting away his latest creation. As they come down the stairs they notice that they were indeed right, their parents were situated in front of the laptop next to the piano, both looking very confused.

"Hey, could you come and take a look at this? For some reason the laptop does not want to download the software, I know you like your puzzles do you think you could figure this one out?" His pa states, turning the laptop towards Mylo.

Taking a seat Mylo starts looking at the laptop, wondering why their parents were having such a problem with downloading this program. Pressing the buttons to try and download it themselves, thinking they maybe pressed the wrong button or something it seemed to work. The regular messages were popping up and nothing seemed out of the ordinary, and voila! It had worked.

"Done! I have no idea what you guys were doing, but apparently the computer doesn't like you." they state, getting up from the table and making their way upstairs.

"I have no idea what we were doing wrong, I wonder how we're going to cope when they move out."Mylo's pa states as he looks bewildered at the computer screen with the now downloaded software on it.

it is so dark
and it is so cold
I have no idea where to go
the darkness won't loosen it's hold

I can't stop
I can't give up
'why won't you look at me'
it says, sounding smug

I can't stop
I need to run
the darkness will find me
and then i'll be done

I can't give up
I have to fight
I have to turn around
and let the fear take flight

I turn around
the darkness is gone
I have faced it and won
the darkness is gone, and it is done

"Get up! Get up! It's Christmas Mylo, pa is making pancakes. Get up!"

For some reason Andrea had decided that the best way of waking Mylo up was jumping on his bed while screaming at them to wake up. Luckily for her Mylo had just enough self restraint to not completely launch her off the bed. Grabbing her ankles he carefully drops her to the floor. "I'm coming, get off. Merry christmas by the way." rubbing their eyes, trying to wake themselves up.

After having woken up a bit more they made their way downstairs, the smell of pancakes enticing them. As soon as they had made it to the last step the smell was overpowering, and Mylo could feel his mouth watering. "Morning dad, pa, merry christmas!"

"Look who's awake! Merry christmas, the pancakes are nearly done, your sister and dad are in the living room. Go and join them and I'll bring everything in in a moment." his pa says hugging Mylo.

He made his way into the living room and smiled to themselves, Andrea was bouncing with excitement and couldn't wait to open her presents. He'd gotten her a huge unicorn and knew that when she opened it she would pretty much combust with excitement.

Watching his pa bring in the pancakes Mylo couldn't help but be thankful for their family, they were so happy that they could spend these moments with them all and couldn't wait to see everyone's reactions to their presents.
