WC = 625For Vicente, nothing beats the warmth of celebrating the holiday season at 7 Tregunter Road, where the Hidalgo siblings and the San Martin household gather around the rustic dining table adorned with dishes like Asado de Tira, creamy Papas Duquesa, Chupe de Camarones, and one of the most iconic Christmas dishes worldwide, Roast Turkey served with crispy French fries. The adults engaged in conversation with one another as the children's laughter filled the air after the feast. Amidst the living room, the Hufflepuff boy enjoyed playing Monopoly with his youngest step-cousin, Matias, and his step-second cousins, taking charge as the banker in the board game.
“Too bad,” Vicente remarked with an apologetic smile towards Nieve, “You need to pay your brother, Lucas Jordan, 100 dollars because your thimble piece happened to be in his house.” Lucas snickered beside Nieve, who remained unamused and let out a grumble. “That’s what you get for stealing the property I wanted,” Matias said in his thick Chilean accent, sticking his tongue out in mocking triumph. Vicente could tell that Nieve was slowly getting annoyed with Matias from the tightening of her jaw and the subtle crease forming between her thin eyebrows. "I’ll buy you a cat if you let this slide,” Nieve offered to Vicente, her eyes still glaring at Matias as Lucas took the money from her, "I heard from Tía Teresa that you wanted a pet."
“No, I wanted an owl,” Vicente corrected his step-second cousin, “Well, she said that owls are not pet-friendly, but I’ve seen my friends own one.” Though he knew Nieve wouldn't likely buy him an owl, considering the fact that the nocturnal animal isn’t a legal muggle pet and costs a lot of galleons, he couldn't shake the idea of buying an owl of his own. His reason for having it would be to save him the hassle of constantly heading to the owlery to send letters to his half-aunt.
“That’s even better,” Kiara declared with a grin as she went up to her room, “I have some foods that I think owls will chow down on, you guys can continue the game without me.” Vicente gave her a thumbs up before shrugging it aside, not knowing that Kiara decided to let her lab testing out. The next thing he knew, the mice had spread everywhere in the house while they continued playing monopoly, causing the poor adults to shriek out of disgust with the little furries.
What a menace to society. Kiara would’ve fit in with the students at Hogwarts if it weren’t for the fact that she’s a muggle. Vicente swiftly brought the game to an end when the Tías started shouting a bunch of cursed words with their voices reverberating through the room like thunderclaps and the rest of the adults began to attempt to chase the mice outside the house with the brooms (Not magical brooms, but Vicente thought it would be funny if they used magical brooms and flew away holding the broom for dear life)
The children, who were enjoying the chaos, were corralled to bed by Abuelito Tómas, except for Kiara. She sat nervously in the living room, awaiting the horrendous lecture she knew was coming. The girls and boys parted ways for their designated rooms, with Lucas leading Gael and Vicente to his bedroom on the third floor. Upon arriving at the bedroom, the three boys didn’t do much except change their clothes and say their goodnight to each other before heading to sleep. The remainder of his holiday before going back to Hogwarts was wrapped up in a series of cherished moments, and the mice incident was never forgotten due to the constant teasing Kiara had from that incident, which caused her to become moody for the rest of Vicente's winter holiday.
