Cat lovers
Date: 19 February, 2024, Monday.
Weather: Clear.
Time: Early afternoon.
It was a fine day for Regina SpindleWheel, she was flipping through three books at once in the Hogwarts library, looking for information about a particular wizard who was known for his unique artworks. Though two hours of nonstop reading had made Regina’s mind swirl around and around. She decided to take a small break. The tiny SpindleWheel looked even tinier in her flowing Ravenclaw robes, not that she minded at all.
“Don’t tear it open, aye?” Said her, softly, while holding out a small mouse toy to Cosmo, her silver mackerel tabby, who was sitting patiently next to Regina’s feet, waiting for his owner to finish scanning through the books. The cat took it without hesitation and began batting it quietly under the library table.
Regina glanced around for any hints of her sister’s appearance, unsurprised when she found no one beside a couple of elves and students passing by. Bellus were always late, that was no surprise. The blonde haired Ravenclaw crept under her table and gave her pet cat a few gentle strokes, before sitting upright again to dive back into her books.
“Hmm…” Her gaze shifted from the left page to the right, then left again, then right. After a good ten minutes, she was starting to fall asleep, her cat too.

Seraphina was hiding in the library. It wasn't her favourite place of the castle, but anything else seemed to festive for a day like today. And she had to reckon she had been going more and more for books ever since her first week at the castle.
She felt hot tears in her eyes but she wouldn't let them fall. She knew she was a bit weird. Maybe a touch too enthusiastic about everything, too passionate... But was it truly something so monstrous?
She had been unable to make a single friend at Hogwarts. Not a single one!
And not that she hadn't tried! She had tried to approach people in the train, in her common room... She simply hadn't found anyone who seemed interested in talk with her.
Well... At least it wasn't so awkward in a library. So she held her guide of magic for muggle-borns a little tighter and walked to the tables. She was about to take her usual one in the corner next to the door when something changed her mind.
In a table by the window she saw a ravenclaw girl of her age with a beautiful cat. Both of them looked sleepy. Maybe... Surely a girl who loved her cat so much to take it with her around the castle would be amiable, right?
She just had to take another chance.
So Seraphina took a deep breath and walked slowly to the girl's table.
"Hi...may I... May I sit at your table?" -she mumbled. And just waited for a miracle.

Regina would be asleep if Cosmo hadn’t pawed her on the face when the Hufflepuff began walking towards her direction. Instantly, she was wide awake, alarmed by the approaching stranger.
Her cat’s ears were pinned, he was hissing.“It’s okay Cosmo, only a student,” assured Regina calmly, while keeping an eye on the Hufflepuff so sharply as if she was attempting to commit murder.
“Sure,” she replied hollowly as the other girl asked for a seat. She had noticed the way the girl stutters with her words, maybe she was another quiet girl like her.
During those few months in Hogwarts, she could see lots of shy, introverted girls trying their best in making friends and socializing, hoping to be more comfortable around the school. Regina on the other side, prefers to have little to no friends. 3 friends (if she accidentally made friends with Seraphina) in fact seems a little bit too much for Regina, she would rather keep the limit to 2.
The RavenClaw girl reminded herself to not make any more friends while reorganizing her books quietly. Cosmo, the cat, was tilting her head at the Hufflepuff first-year, curious but uncomfortable about the newcomer at the same time.

Bellus woke up with a jerk. An owl was perched outside the window, hooting at her and waving its wings. It looked very annoyed. It had probably been outside for a while, in this cold weather. Bellus hurriedly opened the window and untied a letter from the owls leg.
Let’s meet at the library,
Regina
It was a letter from her Ravenclaw sister, Regina. She suspected that she would be late, as she hadn’t noticed the owl earlier. Bellus had fallen asleep with her tiredness from the first few weeks of school. She pulled on her winter robes and stepped out of the cozy common room, went down the stairs two at a time and rushed into the library.
“Regina! I’m here! Sorry for…” Bellus started, when she noticed a Hufflepuff sitting nearby, rather awkwardly.
“Hi!” Bellus greeted the Hufflepuff.
Bellus squeezed into the seat beside Regina, who seemed none too welcome towards the Hufflepuff girl. However, Bellus didn’t feel the same as her sister, more or less, she felt the opposite. Yes, Bellus was a little shy but she was still hoping to have someone she could be open with, aside from her sister. She had been trying to make new friends for the past few weeks but had not been too successful.
“What’s your name?” Bellus asked, awkwardly but rather eager to know.

Regina furrowed her brows as her sister squeezed in next to her, she preferred personal space, but she could make some exceptions for her dear sister. She noticed Bellus’s faded speech as her gaze drifted to the Hufflepuff girl. Regina gave her a slight, unnoticeable shrug, quietly telling her that she didn’t know this new girl at all.
The introverted Regina rolled her eyes as Bellus’s awkward question disrupted the silence. Of course, the all extroverted Bellus loved chitter chattering, she hadn’t forgotten about that.
So as an amazing little sister, Regina decided to turn away from the two’s conversation, putting her attention back on her silver cat. She petted Cosmo’s head, soothing him down just by a little bit. Her cat looked very uncomfortable being near the new Hufflepuff girl.
Little did they know, she still kept half an ear on the other two’s chattering. Why? Well Regina SpindleWheel is a girl who always pays attention to little things, that’s what makes her so different from the crowd. She’d remember all of her close-ones’ birthdays, all the paintings she had done before, every student in her class, and even the amount of pumpkin juice her sister drinks before bed.
