Busy platform
So, first day observations? One word. Busy. The station was busy, the platform was busy, and Felix had no doubts that the train was busy too. The Hogwarts Express was, in itself, hugely impressive to Felix. An enormous, bright red steam engine, it towered over the smaller kids around him.
He didn't have long to admire it, though, before he was shoved into the flow of students and families heading towards the train. Felix pushes his way through the people on Platform 9¾. He wasn't especially polite when he knocked into someone, but, to his credit, Felix didn't walk into that many, and there were a lot of people.
He doesn't like people, but he did like people-watching, and these people were even more interesting than most. Many wore pointed hats, most of the adults and some of the children were in long robes, there were a lot of kids crying as they said goodbye to their parents or siblings, and, overall, much more exciting to watch than the average school scene. Felix noted a few who seemed like first years, knowing that he might be in classes with them.
His dad had offered to come and wave him off, but Felix had refused, and left Amandus behind in the main station. Felix knew that, at some point, he might be homesick, but at the moment, he was enjoying every second away from his family. Turns out he didn't have to wait until his moving out to be away, after all.
He pivots on his heel and walks towards the train.
