Stepping into the library, Viva immediately felt more at ease. It had been a long day. No, make that a long week. I just want this day to be over... But she still had homework to do, so here she was. Viva had been planning to get her work done in the common room, but there had been so many people in there, loudly chatting and hanging out after a day of classes. It had been too much for her brain to handle. At the very least in here, it's mostly quiet, she thought hopefully as she looked around. The only sounds were a few soft whispers and the occasional rustle as a page was turned.
Trying her hardest to breathe slowly, Viva wound her way between the many shelves of books until she found a table. Almost all the other tables were taken, people were apparantly having the same thoughts as her and wanting to work somewhere quiet. Plopping her book bag down beside her, she sat down and sighed. Okay... what do I need to get done tonight? Viva grudgingly pulled out her potions textbook and began to work on an essay about powdered moonstone and its uses in potions.

I trotted into the library in good mood. Spending time with Lily ALWAYS makes me feel good. She was so perfect for me, and I was so lucky to have her. Humming a tune, I looked around the library. Students were everywhere, along with the musty smell of books and the quiet of the library. Well, mostly quiet. Students were gathered around tables, doing homework, essays, or perhaps just reading. If someone did talk, it was in quiet whispers to their table mates. I glanced around again. I didn’t see anyone I knew, but I wasn’t discouraged. I wandered around for a bit, looking for a table to sit at. I saw older students, clustering around a table or person, all looking down intently, and I saw a few younger students there too. I didn’t have anything to get done, I suppose I just wanted a place to relax, think, maybe find a book to read. I perused the shelves hoping to find something that would catch my fancy. A book about potions, a book about famous wizards and witches, a book about famous inventions, a book about lost magical items, none of this really appealed to me at the moment. Finally, giving up, I turned away. Perhaps I would just go sit and think to myself for a bit. I didn’t have anywhere to be, so I could relax before heading back to the Slytherin common room. I walked in between students and tables, looking for someplace to sit. All the tables were full, there were a lot of students here today. Frustrated, I decided I might just head back to the common room after all, when something caught my eye. I saw a younger girl sitting by herself at a table. She was deep in thought, but I wanted to introduce myself. Walking over softly, I got close, and said in a soft voice, “Hi, could I sit with you? Everywhere else is full.”

Viva was scratching her quill agitatedly against the parchment. "Moonstone, also known as the wishing stone, is mainly known for the vital use of its powdered form in the Draught of Peace." She stopped herself and stared down at the parchment blankly. What else can I say? Every thing she had ever learned about moonstone flew out of her head. Leaning forward and resting her head on the table, she closed her eyes, so tired.
Suddenly, A boy was standing nearby. Viva jumped as he asked to sit with her, nearly tumbling out of her chair. Her heart was beating fast again. Wha-what? Did he just see me do that? She thought nervously, her hands clenching against the table. "Um..." she stared at the newcomer. Stop acting weird, Viva, she told herself worriedly. There's absolutely no reason to be freaking out like this,"Sure..." Her voice came out in a quiet sort of whisper, and Viva could feel herself getting more and more worked up over seemably nothing. Trying to shift some of her books to the side to make more room on the table, she waited for the boy to do something, still clenching her hands against the table.
