Martch 2024

It's almost time for Martch 2024. Last year, we tried a different method from our usual 31 prompts. We wanted to get some feedback from players regarding it. Whether you entered both, one or would be interested in taking part, we'd love to know what your preferences are before we set up this year's challenge! Please use the poll below to indicate your preferences!
This poll will be open for exactly 7 days from the time of posting before it's closed.
For those who don't know what they were - here's a summary of your options:
1. Option 1 - 31 prompts - people can do any art medium they like (At that time, we said no writing due to it also being nano prep month. This may or may not be the same - unknown right now). Coding doesn't really apply to all of the prompts so coders might not be able to utilise this skill here. You can see the previous one here - viewtopic.php?t=18107 (It was formerly called Artober but would be similar).
2. Option 2 - 4 Categories, 10 prompts each - There were four categories (coding, writing, graphics, and other - which was drawing/painting/singing/pottery etc). People can do any number of prompts or any categories they'd like. If you only wanted to do pottery, you'd be limited to the 'other' category, though. You can see the previous one here - viewtopic.php?t=25789
For the above, focus on the actual challenge and which design would be of interest to you. The prompts themselves will differ. Ignore the reward systems as they were changed (and could change again).
Rewards - the next question would be - what motivates you when it comes to rewards? Would you like to be rewarded house points, hio money, items or you don't care about the rewards? Please select the options you like on the poll as this may determine the milestone rewards. We may even remove rewards entirely, which would allow us to do more challenges like this more regularly but you wouldn't get anything except bragging rights!
Questions to answer -
1. Would you like Martch to follow option 1 or option 2? Pick one of the options: "option 1", "option 2" OR "no preference"
2. What rewards motivate you? Pick one of the options: mixed, house points, money, items, no rewards or no preference
There is also the option of not planning to enter Martch if you have no interest in either of these options / would like something else.

Not planning to enter, but not because this idea is 'silly' - on the contrary, simply (1) because of lack of time and (2) the only art I can make is related to narrative writing.
The world is in despair not because there are many bad people, but because there are many good people who do nothing.

Before I could answer the survey, may I ask whether the daily prompt has to be completed on the day the prompt is posted?
Martch 2024
Nope. It is designed so you can do 1 a day if you'd like but if you miss a few, you can catch up later. You don't have to do them in order either. All prompts will be posted on 1st March and it will just be 31 prompts for you to complete sometime between 1st to 31st March.AngelFyre McCubbin wrote: 14 Feb 2024, 14:20 Before I could answer the survey, may I ask whether the daily prompt has to be completed on the day the prompt is posted?

Oh, Excellent. Thank you!

I don't have a strong preference for Martch options 1 or 2, whenever I've participated in Martch/Artober I've thoroughly enjoyed both options.
However-
Option two is much more friendly towards those who practice other mediums. What I would like to see out of Martch, is something all artists of all skill levels and mediums can participate in. Not stuff exclusive only to the fine/visual arts.
While I am not a writer, I was admittedly a little upset that one year where writers were excluded from participating in Artober (now understanding that the restriction was because of nano), but it was nice that they were able to participate last year.
In terms of rewards, they don't really apply to me personally??? I do Martch because I enjoy the challenge prompts offer. But right now it seems like mixed rewards is the most popular answer with the community, so we'll go with that. People seem to especially enjoy items that have a special purpose or open up different areas, and money along with house points will always be popular.
tl;dr: I want to see something everyone can participate in, and I want all the rewards. Now. Give them to us.
Super excited for Martch this year and I'm looking forward to what you organizers will be bringing to the table.
Before me, you rightly tremble. But, fear is not what you owe me. You owe me awe....
