"Parseltongue" @Ulysses DrakeThe ballroom was filled with the sounds of loud conversations, elegantly dressed ladies and gentlemen interacting with each other while taking every chance to flex their wealth. Standing in the corner was Elisa looking as elegant as she possibly could in her dress , however, her face lacked color, All that could be seen in it was anger, the young girl felt betrayed as her mother had left her alone to go talk to some of her colleagues
As she took a sip of her juice, she looked around the crowded yet grand ballroom, observing every single guest, it all felt too annoying to her, everything in the room seemed to bore her, no matter what.
Elisa's impatience grew with each passing moment, being in the ballroom seemed like some torture to her, the fake laughter of the adults were a cherry on top of her anger, Elisa badly wished to either run out of the ball or just rip her ears off but Elisa knew that if she causes any more trouble, she would be taken out from Hogwarts in her 1st year itself and nor did she wish to get more into her parent's bad side
The young girl's anger continued to grow as time passed, she could feel her hands squeezing the glass to the fact that if she would put more pressure than the glass would crack.
Elisa could feel her frustration rise as she stood lonely in the crowded ballroom, her anger for her mother kept on increasing as minutes passed, she couldn't understand why her mother even brought her to such an event after all the trouble she had caused just after returning from Hogwarts, After a while, she just couldn't get a hold of her thoughts and mumbled "Why did mother even bring me to a place like this!?".

date. [ 12/30/23 ]—— word count. [ 420 ] —— Ulysses complained the entire day that his mother wanted to bring him to their Winter get-together since Perseus, perhaps purposefully, was too busy readying for their annual draconic showcase at the beginning of the new year. The first year huffed and puffed as this was now the third event that he had to dress up for and Uly was tired of the layers of clothing he was forced to wear. If it was up to him, he would've stayed shirtless in their temperature-controlled home all day and messed around with his little brothers. Instead, he pulled out an outfit that his mother had pulled for him and the Slytherin had a visceral reaction at the silver bolo tie. " Mom, what the heck is this outfit. This is absolute trash. " But, he wasn't going to tell that to her face. Uly knew better at this point and he was going to save the fight for something far more worthwhile than some ugly tie.
They were off to the Unspeakable party and after more pleasantries, compliments on how much of a young man a certain snake was coming, and reminiscing to when he was the size of a starter cauldron, Ulysses slouched himself into a chair hoping that he would simply be left alone now.
" See, isn't this nice, Ulysses? "
Ulysses offered a half-hearted smile to his mom. " You just wanted to parade me around like some little trinket for your coworkers. " He was quick to quip back at her as Bea fixed her long dress, hand on her son's shoulder as she leaned down and fixed some of the curls on his forehead.
" It'd be your father if he didn't throw you like a lamb to the slaughter. Love you sweetie, I have something to take care of but don't get into too much trouble. Alright? " And with a final stare of seriousness, Ulysses deflated knowing that if he made an ass out of himself here, it would be a wizarding war at home and he would be fighting a losing battle.
Finally, the young boy let out a heavy sigh while his eyes scanned the room trying to see if any other poor sap was forced to attend such a stuffy event and that's when he spotted a blonde girl who almost looked like her strands had gone pure white.
" Hey, you! C'mere. " Uly whisper-yelled over to the girl, a finger out and gesturing her offer. If he was forced to behave, he might as well have some company.

Boredom's Serendipity
As seconds passed, the voices in the ballroom got worse and worse to the fact that Elisa couldn't bear it any longer, Deep inside, she wished to storm out of the ballroom without even looking back for her mother but that was nothing more than a small wish, the young blonde knew that if she tries to pull such an action then she would be grounded in her room until the end of her winter break, that would be torture for sure.
As she stood on the corner, looking at the adults who didn't seem to get bored of their boring talks about politics, while looking around, Elisa was forced to smile a couple of times at those who knew her but majorly her face was plastered with an emotionless look,
As the young girl slowly got into her little world, deep in her mind, she was suddenly interrupted by someone, it was the voice of a boy, quite light as a whisper, Elisa quickly turned toward the direction from where the voice came to spot a boy standing near, his face held annoyance, just like Elisa's had previously been, 'Guess he is one of those unlucky souls like me who were forced to come here' she mentally said to herself as she walked towards the boy while continuing to keep on her emotionless look,
"Do you know that you could have framed it a bit politely?" she said in a polite tone while observing the boy, he looked a bit familiar, maybe she had seen him in Hogwarts,
As an awkward silence started surrounding the two, Elisa finally spoke up again, "You forced to come here too?", this was one of the dumbest questions to ask, of course, the boy seemed like he was forced to come here but all the young girl cared about was to remove the awkward air between them, "Is it just me or is this party hella boring?", she asked once again trying to start up a conversation,
The only thing that could entertain Elisa currently was maybe a conversation with someone of her age and to her rotten luck, she spotted no one other than the annoyed boy with whom she was with...
