Kaitlyn sat on a mat outside of Hogwarts. She was wearing a simple back tank top and a pink skort. She was barefoot as she was practicing yoga on her mat. Her sandals lay discarded next to her bag with her sketchpad in it and a container with celery and carrots that was partially open. Currently, she stood with her left foot planted with her toes gripping the mat. Her eyes were closed, and her arms stretched wide. Her right foot rested against her left upper thigh. Her breathing was slowed. A deep breath in, holding it for a minute, and then slowly letting it out.

As she balanced, Kaitlyn heard rustling from the nearby Forbidden Forest. She paid it no mind. Then, the rustling got louder. She mumbled in annoyance and opened one eye. She saw a grey bunny. It looked like a baby; it was so small. If she recalled correctly, it resembled an option she saw in one of her magical books. A Mist Hopper, if she recalled correctly. It was nibbling on some grass a mere foot away from her mat. Her other eye immediately shot open, and both eyes grew large. In her attempt to release her position quickly, she lost her balance and fell hard on her rear. “Oof!” She cried out.

Her sudden movement and exclaimation caused the bunny to hop away. Noticing this, Kaitlyn frowned as she looked up. Her rear end was now stung from her fall, and she chased away the bunny. ‘Good job, you klutz,’ she moaned in her mind. Recalling the vegetables she had nearby, she took out a few carrots and broke them into multiple small pieces. She made a small pathway to her mat with the pieces of carrot. Then, next to where she was just exercising, she placed a handful of carrot pieces.

With a smile, Kaitlyn sat on her mat next to the pieces of carrots, placing the remaining vegetables on her other side. She sat cross-legged with her eyes closed again. Her back was straight, and she began to breathe deeply again. A deep breath in. Hold for a minute. Then, slowly let it out. At first, she didn’t hear anything going on nearby. Then, she heard it. A soft nibbling noise. Then, the thud of a hop. A small smile danced on her lips, but she refused to open her eyes just yet. She wanted to wait until the bunny hopped onto her mat.

It only took a few minutes for the small bunny to hop onto her mat; the light thud was felt throughout her body. Kaitlyn opened her eyes to see the bunny sniffing her carrot pile, nibbling away. “Hi,” she whispered as she saw the bunny next to her. “I’m not here to hurt you,” she continued to whisper. She slowly moved her hand to her left, where she left the remaining vegetables, to not scare the bunny. “I have more,” she continued as she removed a small piece of celery.

Kaitlyn slowly moved the piece of celery in the direction of the bunny until it was close enough for the bunny to smell it. After several more moments of eating the carrots, the bunny’s ears fidgeted quickly. Its nose twitched. It hesitantly hopped over to the piece of celery still held by Kaitlyn. “May I pet you?” She asked in a whisper.

Of course, the bunny could not talk. But, she considered the lack of any additional movement a potential yes. She moved her other hand slowly until she reached the bunny. She gently petted its fur. At first, the bunny stopped moving entirely, looking over at her with big eyes. Its nose twitched a bit, then returned to eating the piece of celery as Kaitlyn gently petted it behind its ears.

Kaitlyn giggled softly. “Aw, how cute,” she whispered. She thought of a few names off the top of her head. “How does the name Demeter sound?” She asked, recalling one of the Greek Goddesses from one of her favorite muggle book series. The bunny’s ears twitched again, and it gently nuzzled one of her slender fingers. “It’s decided then. I’ll call you Demeter, and you’ll be my cute little pet,” she giggled quietly.
