GRYFFINDOR vs RAVENCLAW - WINTER 2024
Despite having moderated many games in the past few months for duelling and racing, nothing prepared her for the anxiety she would have coming down to the field today. It was cold, it was slightly snowing, and they were still expected to race in this weather. At least it wasn't pouring with hail and all that, just some light drizzle and chills.Date: February 11th, 2024
Time:14:00
Weather: clear skies and chilly winds
Alyssea pushed herself to place and looked to the crowd. She wasn't just there to make sure the racers would be okay; she had to entertain the people, too. Surely her years in theatre would pay off.
"Welcome everyone to the winter races!" Alyssea made sure to project and not yell. Projecting would protect her voice for the rest of the day. "Today, we have Gryffindor against Ravenclaw! The two victors from the last races! And they've both got some new additions to their teams. Let's see what tricks they have up their sleeve this time. Who's gonna take home the win?"
Alyssea turned to the racers and gave them a thumbs up. "Racers! Mount your brooms and head to the starting line. When I say 'go', then you fly as fast as you'd like." She pulled her jacket tighter as they prepared themselves. "In three... two... one... GO!"
This was going to be fun.

❂《 ⌜ February 11, 2024 ▎ 14:00 PM ⌟▛▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔Raizel had always been this supportive friend and tried to be there for the people who had somehow made her life at Hogwarts… better, even though they might not be aware of it. Things aren't that looking great for this certain Gryffindor but she is still doing her best to get through despite the misfortunes that had befall her. It's her friends that's helping her get through, even though sometimes, she finds the activities quite tiring.
So here she is, watching the broom racing that her best friend, Fang Hui-Ying, is participating in and of course, after that unofficial racing that she hosted, she had become quite a fan of Xailah Alptraum. During that race, the older Lioness had shown her skills to them till the very end and seeing them had somehow reignited her spirit, even for just a day.
There seems to be a lot of new people in the racing team though, with one iconic Legend missing. She will admit, the Legendary Half-Giant, Hugh Lowe, will be missed and she hopes that he's happy with whatever that he had chosen in his life, perhaps his new calling that's different from Broom Racing. Looks like it wasn't only the duelling team that are getting a lot of team changes, maybe even the Quidditch team is in the same predicament but perhaps, that is the fate of the sports teams, especially when one finds a different interest or the sports doesn't feel right for them.
That got this lion cub thinking though, maybe it was time for her to do the same? Duelling was… getting tiring. Despite her diligent practice for the said sports, her interest in it isn't the same as when she started out. There was no thrill but rather, just an empty feeling that's easily filled with frustration. Well, she is taking part in some other activities that's not duelling to keep her from burning out but it is getting harder to keep at it as time goes by. The only thing that's keeping her from leaving the team was that she is no quitter but maybe, it was time to take a break. Who knows, she'll let future Raizel deal with that.
Silently, she began looking for a spot for a greater view, seeing the racers get ready and listening to her cousin's announcements as the moderator for this race. Right, she's not just here for the lions, but for Alyssea Brown as well to watch her mod her first official race. Not a word was said, the girl preferring to be a silent supporter unlike what she used to before.
