Honestly, it was rare to have the staff stay the same for long at Hogwarts. That was why Ava wasn’t surprised when the rumor came floating around Slytherin that they had a new transfiguration professor. She hadn’t cared much for the last transfiguration professor, and was hopeful this one would be easier for her to connect with, much as she had done with the previous Astronomy professor. But Professor Baird was gone, and she knew a slew of new staff would be on the way.
It was time to start confirming her reputation. Maybe as a trouble maker, maybe as lovable student. In this class, she was particularly interested in being known by the professor so that she could advance her transfiguration knowledge, as it seemed to be the only subject she did somewhat well.
She arrived at the classroom sometime in the morning of that weekend, excited to meet the professor. She wanted to seem cool still, because being the teacher's pet was anything but. She settled on flinging open the door as way of greeting, and holding her wand in her open hand so that maybe she could appear as if she had spelled it open. Her fingers tightened on the doorhandle, and she twisted the door open and slammed it as far as it would go, making sure it made the appropriate racket that would send the professor searching for the cause.
