The Slytherin Table Closed

Skye was sitting at the Slytherin Table after being sorted she feasted on all sorts of foods, talked with newer sorted people, waiting to meet someone who wanted to be friends. Skye didn't want to seem too desperate to make people her friend, unless they wanted to. This was her first time here, so Skye seemed to be nervous.
Skye got up to get more food, she saw a boy named Tedrick Lee and tried to make friends with him, that's a start. Skye is usually shy making friends at first, but once you get to know her and she knows you, she is more talkative. Skye thought she was pretty kindhearted, caring, and likable person to talk to, Skye could talk to you about anything, and everything, she just had that kind of atmosphere around her, she may be slow at making friends, but she will get there in due time, as her years in Hogwarts continue. Skye loves having friends she can trust with her secrets and question and concerns to. Skye looks all around, and she tries to talk to someone, and tries to make friends with them, Skye feels she is doing good trying hard to make friends.

Amaya sighed as she took a place near another Slytherin girl, glancing around at the heaps of food everywhere, examine it all in a attempt to decide what to get. She didn’t quite know anyone here, so she’d chosen a more spacey area, hoping that she would be fine here.

Amaya carefully began to pile on a balanced selection of various breads, a couple strips of meat, and a small pile of vegetables. Amaya added three chocolate chip cookies and a slice of Chocolate Ice Cream Cake, merely because she’d loved chocolate and she wanted to stuff herself with food she genuinely enjoyed as part of the freedom of being at Hogwarts. She found herself longing for one of the more favored treats, Chocolate Frogs, but couldn’t find any, much to her disappointment.

Amaya began to neatly cut at her selected food, glancing over at the blonde girl sitting next to her. Quickly swallowing the slice roast beef she had been ebbing away at, she turned over to her. She’d been chatting to many other people around them, and Amaya silently resolved to see what she was like for herself.

Hi. I’m Amaya, nice to meet you.

Amaya offered the other girl a small smile, carefully extending a hand.

He calmly sat back in his chair, watching the other tables interact with each other in friendly banter, and sipping a bottle of Dr.Pepper, no need for goblets, they seemed to formal, and were annoying to use. He looked beside him at 'Amaya' as she said her name was. He tilted his head, tiered eyes sparkling with color from the excessive floating candles. He took in her profile with one quick scan and looked to the girl next to her, musing quietly over the info he had gather recently and storing them in their designated mental-rooms. Taking another drought of his 'muggle drink' he looked over at the food lay before him, brushing a strand of white hair behind his ear, he snatched some sushi with a pair of chopsticks, yes, he used chopsticks, got an issue with that? He stuck the small roll in his mouth, without removing his mask, much to a couple other Slytherin's dismay, and seemed to melt into the taste, pure bliss flooding his mouth. Quickly he snatched more sushi in rapid succession, hand and chopsticks moving in a blur, and the food somehow entering his mouth through his mask. He paused in his eating, and took another drink of his Dr. pepper, letting out a large sigh of contentment. He hadn't had sushi in ages, and he had been getting tiered of all the fancy meals with stuck-up business partners of his father's. His half-lidded eyes slid back over to the girl beside him and he took another drink of his soda, and snatched a spring roll, munching on it musingly.

Amaya glanced at the guy sitting next to her. He seemed to be mostly opting for more Asian styled cuisine, shoveling into his mouth as if he hadn’t eaten for days, and Amaya was intrigued by what seemed to be a unwavering mask. Of course, Amaya couldn’t blame him for liking the Asian food. She recalled the delicious food that had been hiding around every corner back in Taiwan, and nodded, ever-so-slightly, to herself.

He also didn’t seem to care as much about keeping up his appearences as the other Slytherins. Much of the rest, including her, were eating neatly and cautiously, not like the other houses who leapt at the sight of food.

His mask never wavered, even for a second.

Amaya grinned. Oh, competition. And Dr. Pepper. Huh. Interesting combination.

Oh, Hogwarts was going to be oh-so-very fun.

Composing herself, she directed a quick, measured glance at the Slytherin boy sitting next to her, let her gaze was wash over him, and moved back to looking at her food.

Hi.

Amaya glanced back over at the other boy once more. Waiting his reply, or rather, any reply, she began to ebb away at more of her dish, satisfied when she was around half-way done with it.

He looked up at the girl beside him, eyes half-lidded and munching on a spring roll. Swallowing he gave her a half wave and an eye-smile. Might as well, he was trying to make 'friends', for his own gain of course, and for connections, ah his father would be proud of him at the moment, his teachings were being put to use once more.

"Hello, and what might your name be?", he closed his eyes, the lids curving up in a happy way, despite his happiness being fake, it sounded genuine, a skill gained over his years of practice, since 'that night', He sipped his Dr. pepper tilting his head to one side and letting his bleached hair fall out of it's confines in his hood, one hand poised holding another roll of sushi, one of the few joys in his life, and the other clutching the bottle of Dr.Pepper as if it were something preciouses, and it was, it was the next comfort he had to Earl Grey. Oh how he missed his therapy cat, he missed sleep, the bags under his eyes showing such evidence.
He glanced over at her plate, inwardly chuckling, he had seen her smirk before, she though this was some kind of competition, he would play along, as his father said, first impressions are important.

Amaya tilted her head to the side in curiosity. Interesting. Oh, so very interesting. Amaya gave him a small, half-wave back.

Amaya, Amaya Bourne. Nice to meet you. You?

A small, reserved smile made it’s way onto Amaya’s face, and Amaya carefully moved her hand so that it was extended towards the boy this time.

Anyways, how are you liking Slytherin so far?

Amaya sliced another piece off of her large slice of roast lamb, munching on it quietly before sipping her pumpkin juice to wash out the taste, and returned to glancing at the other Slytherin.

Looking a little closer at his face, Amaya could only now notice how pale he seemed to be, even underneath the safety of his hood.

Amaya fell silent, wondering why he was so pale, and what she should say. What if he was sick? Was he okay?

Amaya redirected her gaze at the wall, since it was quite interesting, her small smile never wavering and the worry pushed behind her mask. It was these times she was glad of her upbringing, as the mask had always been enough to fake something that she wasn’t. Returning her gaze to the other Slytherin boy, she was careful not to let her gaze settle for too long before carefully sipping more of the Pumpkin juice that had filled her goblet.

He nodded in response to her name, despite already knowing it, it was polite to ask.He looked over at the girl, shoveling some sweet'n'sour pork onto his dish along with Chinese noodles, god he loved Chinese noodles, and sushi, and Dr.Pepper, and dumplings, spring rolls, pot stickers, oh, and Dr. Pepper. He cut off his tiered ramblings and yawned under his mask, the dark circles resting under his eyes prominent on his complexation, his gaze flicked over to the girl and he caught a glimpse of worry cross her face before it was smoothly replaced by the small smile she had before. He didn't bother to point it out, it was unnecessary for the conversation.

"Ah, nice to meet you Amaya, my name's Azaiah Morgos. I hope we can get along", he gave her an eye-smile, before responding to her next question, "Well, I am enjoying the food so far, not much time to fully assess our house. Slytherin was the next best house to be sorted into after Ravenclaw, I probably couldn't deal with the boisterous Gryffindors over there", he gestured absentmindedly to the table in question, "I mean honestly, how can those Lions have so much energy", a small yawn punctuated the sentence, as if proving his point. Wiping a small tiered tear from the corner of his steely eyes he continued, "and Hufflepuff is just too....nice...to many...emotions, which I can't really deal with". He glanced back up to her, sipping his soda of choice, and gave her a hidden smile, which wasn't real of course. Deciding not to continue further he waited for her response, returning to practically sucking up his meal through his...mask. Honestly, how much room does he have in his stomach anyways, He's tiny!

“Gryffindors... Slytherin really is the best house, huh. It’s quite underrated, to be honest. And... I hope we get along as well.

Amaya let some sincerity leak into her voice, and she wouldn’t deny that it was true. She didn’t want enemies at her first year, and... Azaiah Morgos really was interesting.

Amaya sighed. “It is honestly quite sad how much Slytherin’s reputation pulls the house down.

Amaya paused, downing some more of her pumpkin juice, before cozying into her chair, letting out a soft sigh of delighted bliss. Her smile grew a little wider, and her gaze flicked back over to Azaiah.

And while I won’t deny that all the Houses have their good and bad. However, I will say this: I still believe, with all my heart, that Slytherin truly is the best House.

Amaya quickly reigned it in, hiding her thoughts behind another smile. She liked seeming like a innocent little eleven year old, so blank and lifeless. Like a ‘Puff. Someone careless and carefree and such a young little child.

But that was not who she was, and her mask slipped, making her smile became rather spacy. Amaya didn’t notice, staring at the wall blankly, before noticing her slip-up. Amaya dropped the smile, and merely let her expression go blank.

That was better.

So. Excited for Hogwarts so far?” Amaya asked in a small attempt to keep the idle talk going. She made no move to regain a warm smile or anything of the sort, and merely just sipped some more of her drink, glancing at Azaiah a couple times.

A smile crept up his face as he saw her mask drop, though his own, physical, mask hid it. This girl was a bit interesting, he must admit, perceptive, but still grounded in her own beliefs, yes she might get far in life, if she keeps it up anyhow.

he munched on a rice ball thoughtfully, not reacting to her social mask dropping, though he'd seen it. Musing over responses in his vast mind he sipped his drink once again.

"Yes, Slytherin is an amazing house in it's own right",His face suddenly turned into a deep, menacing scowl, "Sadly, the multiple foolish purebloods in the house are too egotistical to even focus on reputation, sometimes even their own grades, and selfishness runs rampant,"His face went neutral again and he ate some more noodles absently, "though some of this is the other houses' faults, treating many Slytherins like villains and not even bothering to stop and look closer at the individuals. Discrimination against the house is what really seems to cause it to produce villains, it's as if they forgot that Merlin, one of the greatest wizards in history, came from this house. Fools,"he said this all with a mildly disgusted look in his eyes, before his lazy aura came back and he dropped a sushi roll onto his mask, which, like the other times, seems to somehow reach his mouth.

"as for your second question, no, I'm not looking forward to future years, I know this is all necessary, but my life will most likely be a living hell, with the insomnia and panic attacks I'll probably get, and, due to the fact that pets aren't allowed, I don't have my therapy cat to calm me down and let me sleep," He let out a weary sigh, and lolled his head back over to the girl,

"though I'll probably get through it, my grades won't be the highest thanks to lack of sleep, but even then I'm still a prodigy, and will most likely get higher-then-average grades." he said this all impassively, no bosting, just as if stating a fact. He went back to blissfully eating his meal and swallowing his favorite drink.
