Bum bum bum bum....DADA! PV Rowan Bellegno Locked

Dennis always enjoyed his DADA classes. Whether it was shooting sparks, blasting pillows, or blowing smoke, DADA always seemed to capture his attention and his imagination. It helped that it was a subject he was pretty good at. Typical kid - like the subjects he’s good at but doesn’t pay attention in the ones he is not. Class had just dismissed and he was packing up his notes, books, and wands. It was the second semester in his first year and he hadn’t found anyone to actually discuss the topics with. There was one Ravenclaw girl, but they got into a shouting match really quick - DADA was definitely not the subject for her.

He looked around the room. He happened to be in a class with more Gryffindors than any other house. They were always a rambunctious lot and eager to prove themselves. It always made class a blast and very interesting. He wondered if he might get one of them to be his practice partner or at least someone to compare notes with. He got up and walked over to the exit, kind of hovering around to see if there was any one he might approach. Looking for all the world, like he was lost and needing help. This was often his best technique for getting another helpful student to approach him.

Hope Pennyfeather had expected to be a Ravenclaw. She was intelligent, clever, cunning, hardworking, and kind. Her father however expected her to be a Slytherin. To be like him. To remind him of himself. But DADA had always been her passion. She loved the thought of helping the world by being a Dark Wizard Catcher. However, being a pure-blood had its disadvantages as well as advantages.

Her father always said she was meant for greater things, her being a Pennyfeather that being an auror was betraying Salazar Slytherin's legacy entirely, that no Pennyfeather would EVER dishonor the ways of, "The only sensible Founder". Though the lectures of her incompetence made her think her dream was impossible to achieve. So she tried to get to know the other Hufflepuffs, however, no one seemed to interested in being friends with the daughter of a muggle-hating pure-blood.

So she tried to help out, she never fell behind on her studies, with being 2nd best in all classes, she had spare time on her hands. Though her father sent letters constantly saying things like, "IT IS NOT ENOUGH TO BE 2ND BEST! YOU NEED TO BE THE FIRST! OR YOU ARE NO BETTER THAN THOSE CURSED MUD-BLOODS!! NO TRUE PENNYFEATHER SETTLES FOR LESS!! IT IS BAD ENOUGH THAT YOU ARE A HUFFLEPUFF!! DO BETTER OR YOU CAN FIND SOMEONE WHO TAKES FAILURES BECAUSE I DO NOT RAISE FAILURES!!!"

Hope nearly ran away. She could not bear the thought that her father would disown her. But she knew that helping someone would be her beginning. So when she saw a boy looking around, her bones tingled with excitement. "He looks like he needs help....perhaps I could be of use...." She thought.
