Nerves and Excitement
Genevieve had this weird bundle of nerves and excitement at the same time.
Finally. Finally I'm going to Hogwarts!
She'd only been dreaming about this day for years, since the day her oldest sister, Chloe, had gone off to Hogwarts. When Genevieve found out she had magic, it might have been the happiest day of her life.
She looked around Platform 93/4 in awe and terror, at all the many people rushing around. The Hogwarts Express stood there on the tracks in all its glory.
"Okay, sweetie," Mum said as she hugged Genevieve tightly. "You can get on the train by yourself, right? I have to run to work now."
A million worries flooded through Genevieve's head. What if I don't find somewhere to sit? What if no one talks to me because I'm just the weird short shy girl? Out loud she said, "Sure, Mum. Whatever you need."
Mum's blue eyes twinkled as she hugged her daughter goodbye. "I love you, Nevi. You're going to have so much fun and meet so many new friends!" She waved and walked away, leaving Genevieve standing there with her trunk, feeling a little lost.
Genevieve started hauling her trunk up the stairs of the Hogwarts Express, only to trip on the top step. Her trunk went flying, and there she lay, sprawled over the steps of the train.
She felt a few tears begin to form in her eyes. Who would want to be her friend now?

The time has finally game! Tracey is finally going to Hogwarts! Tracey was very excited to be going to a school full of magic. Being a half-blood witch, she grew up in both the Wizarding and Muggle worlds, and her parents had both attend Hogwarts, and now it's finally her turn! Tracey arrived at the station with her parents and went through the barrier with them. She was amazed with how pretty the Hogwarts Express looks.
"Bye sweetie. Have fun at school," Nancy Bailey, Tracey's mother says.
"Remember to owl us whenever you want to. But please do owl us about your house," Stephen Bailey, Tracey's father says.
"Ok, I will," Tracey says.
She gave her parents a hug before making her way over to the train. She hauled her trunk up the stairs and went onto the train. She waved at her parents before going inside of the train and putting her trunk away in a compartment. When she was about to sit down, she heard a noise, like as if someone had fallen. Tracey got out of the compartment that she was in and saw a girl on the floor.
"O-oh no! A-are you ok?" Tracey asks bending down once she was near the girl.

Genevieve hears footsteps approach, and she quickly wipes away her tears, embarrassed that anyone would see her crying. She gets embarrassed very quickly, and cares a lot about what people think of her. It's one of her faults, and she knows it.
"O-oh no! A-are you ok?" A gentle voice asks worriedly. Genevieve looks up nervously and sees a nice-looking pretty girl with dark hair bending down next to her.
"Um... yes." Genevieve stands up slowly from the train steps, feeling quite embarrassed. She shuffles her feet a little. "I just... tripped. My trunk is really heavy," She wants to say more, but her shyness is kicking in. Maybe she could be my friend. We could sit together on the train! Woah woah, hold on Genevieve, let's just wait and see if she even wants to be my friend. I hope she does. She looks at Tracey hopefully.
Genevieve stands there, not knowing what to say or do. Oh my goodness. Why is this always happening to me? The station is filled with the sounds of people, bustling here and there. People are boarding the train, which means it's almost time for the train to leave for Hogwarts!

Tracey was about to extended her hand out to the girl who was on the floor, but she saw the girl stand up, so she let her hand stay at her side and she also got up. She saw the girls trunk that was on the floor and everything clicked in her head.
"O-oh, I see. Uh, would you like to sit with me? I-I could help you with your trunk, a-and we could may-maybe become friends?" Tracey asks.
She wasn't sure if the girl was going to accept what she had just asked, but hopped that she did, since this girl could be one of her very first friends, and who knows, maybe when they arrive to Hogwarts, and if the girl is also a first year, they might get sorted into the same house. But, then again, the sorting hat would probably sort them into different houses based off of which house they represent more, that's what Tracey's mother had told her when Tracey had asked how the sorting hat knew which house was perfect for the students.
"O-oh, I-I'm Tracey Bailey," Tracey says.
She decided to introduce herself to the girl, cause if she did see the girl at Hogwarts, she might be able to remember her name, if she remembers what she looks like, that is. But, Tracey has a decent memory.

"O-oh, I see. Uh, would you like to sit with me? I-I could help you with your trunk, a-and we could may-maybe become friends?" the girl asks.
Genevieve starts to smile, even though she is still nervous and shy. "Really? Thank you." I can't believe I already found a friend! she thinks to herself. Maybe I didn't have to be so worried after all.
The girl speaks again, telling Genevieve that her name is Tracey Bailey.
"That's a pretty name. I'm Genevieve Delacourt. You can call me Viva or Genny, if you like." Genevieve puts out her hand to shake Tracey's. She's not feeling quite as shy anymore. Tracey seems like a really nice person. I hope we can spend more time together! Maybe we'll even be in the same house.
The girls are still standing on the steps of the Hogwarts Express, and the train's whistle blows loudly. "Oh, we should probably go inside and find a compartment," Genevieve says quietly. "I think the train is going to leave soon.
Genevieve starts trying to pick up her trunk again, struggling with the weight. The trunk is old and extremely heavy, packed with all her things for school. She had packed many things, probably overpacked by a lot.

Tracey sees the girl smiling and it makes her happy, so she smiles back at her. Tracey likes making people smile, cause it makes her happy. Tho, she didn't want her hair to turn yellow, since she doesn't like having yellow hair, since she thinks it doesn't suit her.
She heard the girl speak and introduce herself as Genevieve Delacourt.
Y-yes, really. All-also, your welcome! Thanks! You-your name is pretty too, Genny,"
Tracey noticed that she and Genevieve were still on the steps of the Hogwarts Express and she knew that the train would probably be leaving soon, since she heard a loud whistle, which made her flinch slightly, since she wasn't expecting the whistle to be that loud.
"I-I all-already found a compartment before hearing you fall. W-we can go to the compartment that my trunk is in, if you'd like," Tracey says.
She sees Genevieve trying to pick up her trunk, and Tracey goes over to her trunk and picks up the side that Genevieve wasn't holding. She then walks up the steps and into the train. She then walked backwards towards the compartment that her trunk was in, with Genevieve following her. Tracey was amazed with how strong she was, since she lifted her own trunk without needing any help and she is able to help Genevieve lift hers.

Genevieve is very grateful for Tracey offering to help carry her trunk. It's quite heavy, and Genevieve is quite small.
The two girls walk down the hallway of the train, still holding the trunk. Genevieve sees a compartment with Tracey's trunk in it, and helps get the trunk inside. "Ugh. Just a little farther..." She gives a big shove, and the heavy old trunk goes inside.
"Whew," she says, adjusting her robes with a little laugh to herself. The train gives a sudden lurch, and then starts moving. Genevieve races to the window in excitement and looks out, watching the station fade away as the train leaves. She waves until she can't see the station anymore, than looks back at her new friend.
She walks back to Tracey and smiles at her, grinning ear to ear, not feeling quite so shy anymore. She then plops herself down on one of the plush seats, really happy to be on her way to Hogwarts at last. It's time for her journey to begin, and she can't wait!

Once Tracey had helped Genevieve get her trunk onto the train, she made her way over to where her compartment was, while still carrying the girls trunk. Tracey was amazed with how the compartment door was still open and she walked into the compartment. Once Genevieve had her trunk inside of the compartment, Tracey placed the trunk close to hers so the two of them could sit down. As soon as she had sat down, the train started moving and she saw Genevieve rush to the window before sitting down in one of the seats. Tracey smiled back at her and looked out the window. The train had fully left the station, and now they are on their way to Hogwarts. Tracey was really excited now. She wasn't sure which house she'd be put in, so she decided to ask,
"When we get to Hogwarts, what h-house d'you think you'll be sor-sorted into?"
While waiting for an answer from Genevieve, Tracey thought about the house that she could be sorted into, but it was really hard. The only house she knew that she wouldn't be in was Slytherin, since she wasn't sure if she had the qualities of the house that her father was in. She also had a feeling that she wouldn't be sorted into Gryffindor, since she wasn't that brave, and the only two houses left were Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff.

Tracey smiled at her, and asked: "When we get to Hogwarts, what h-house d'you think you'll be sor-sorted into?"
Genevieve thought about this for a minute. She actually had no idea what house she'd be sorted into. "I don't know..." she said thoughtfully. "Not Slytherin, I don't think. Probably not Gryffindor either, because I'm not very brave. Well, sometimes." She looked at Tracey and smiled. The train rocked under their feet as it sped along towards Hogwarts.
"My family members have been sorted into almost all the different houses," she explained as she leaned back against the seat cushions. "My dad was a Gryffindor when he went here. My oldest sister, Chloe, is a Slytherin. She is a sixth year. Then Anastasia, who is in Ravenclaw and is a fourth year. Now me!" Genevieve paused. "I'll probably be a Hufflepuff, or be a Ravenclaw like Anastasia."
She sighed thoughtfully, looking out the window again. "What do you think you'll be? Oh, I hope we're in the same house! You're the first person I've met, but you seem so nice!"
I guess I'm not so shy anymore, She thought to herself. It must be because Tracey is such a kind girl.
