Writing To The Impatient Family SOLO

The Outfit

A solo of Bea going to write a letter to her family. First person.

I had been to busy to even remember writing a letter to my family. My parents were going to be furious.
I'd promised to write a letter every two days and reply to each letter they sent but I hadn't written in five days.
I'd better write quickly otherwise they will be extremely mad with me.

I reached into my tote bag and pulled out a pot of ink, parchment and a quill.

What was I going to say?
What would get me in minimal trouble for not owling them?

I screamed internally.
I scribbled a quick note:

Dear Mother and Father,
I apologise for not answering your owls, I've been busy with school work.
I'm okay, hope you're okay,

I knew that wouldn't be good enough for my parents so I scrunched it up and stuffed it into my bag, impatient.

What could I write?

I'd always been hopeless on what to write unless my parents asked me some questions.
That was one part of myself that I never understood. I was so sociable when it came to talking to people ordinarily but writing owls I always struggled with.

Just anything 'writing' and 'family' was always something I didn't understand.

I pulled out another bit of parchment and wrote another little note not much different to the first and ended up putting it back in my bag.

I tried again and wrote:

Dear Mother and Father,
How are you? I'm okay, bit tired but otherwise fine.
My classes are very fun, I've gotten lost a few times but I know where most of my classes are now.

I'm not sure if I have a favourite class yet, their all quite fun!

How are the cats? Mischievous, as usual I bet. Anything interesting going on?
Sorry for not replying I've been busy with all of the homework I've been getting.

That was all I was going to write.
After I scribbled my parents address on the envelope I found our family owl hidden with the other owls.
He stuck out his leg and I tied the letter and off he flew.
