So it was his second day here and he is still getting used to this place. It was after all of the classes that he got to actually relax. He figured that he should just walk around, get to know the castle more. He might have got lost a time or two, but eventually he found his way outside and into the courtyard.

There were a bunch of kids walking this way and that, but none have really paid him any attention, which was fine by him. Not really having any muggle items on him, as his parents wanted him to have the full magical experience, he was only stuck with magical and wizard things.

He would sit down, leaning against a wall and pull out his wand. He would examine it. Cherry wood and Phoenix feather. Part of being here almost seemed unreal to him, but on the other hand, it didn't. His mother, being a witch, had told him of all the things that she has done as a student here. A lot of the times, from what she has told him, is that she was a troublemaker just like him.

But as for him? He now has to find his own way to make a mark in the wizarding world. But first, he needs to relax.

Genevieve walked outside to explore a little more of the grounds. It was the very beginning of her time at Hogwarts!

She was very excited and also terrified. So many people everywhere, she thought. She was very shy, as well as quiet. No one usually noticed her.

The courtyard was beautiful, snow falling down and carpeting the stone tiles. She realized just a bit too late that she hadn't brought her winter cloak.

Genevieve was shivering as she walked around, looking at the castle courtyard. I wonder when I will start classes, she thought. Honestly, she was glad for the few days she had to just chill and relax. She wanted to get to know the castle a little more, and make friends.

She sighed. She was probably too shy to make friends. Even at muggle school, she was just the weird short quiet girl. Viva kept walking, getting colder and colder. Her cheeks were turning a bright pink from the snowy wind.

She looked down to avoid a gust of cold air, and then bumped into someone. A boy had been leaning against the wall, examining a wand, when she smashed into him.

Viva went tumbling down to the snowy courtyard floor, feeling horribly embarrassed.

Luke Brown was just casually exploring the castle, meeting new people, having fun on his own, when he ran across a teacher. It was his Defence Against The Dark Arts teacher. Since Luke Brown was so nervous for this class, he decided to talk to him.

His first question was: 'hello sir, how are you doing?' The teacher nicely responded that he was doing great. Next, Luke Brown decided to get to know a bit more of the class.

'What exactly will we learn in your class, sir?' he asked. The teacher said: 'Everything about the dark arts and how to defend yourself against it.' Pretty obvious, but Luke Brown didn't care because he was so in love with this class. This is even one of the reasons he is in Slytherin.

'What spells will we learn sir?' he asked. The professor didn't want to answer, because it's not meant for a student to already know some spells before classes start, so he wouldn't have an advantage. Luke Brown agreedly shook his head and said he understood.

When the professor left, Luke Brown was really happy to have such a nice teacher. He really can't wait, but he knows that he should also focus on other classes, like potions and herbology.

Okay, so he might have been too engrossed in looking at his own wand that he didn't see someone crashing into him until, well until they crashed into him. "Whoa!" He would exclaim as he would fall down.

A grimace would appear on his face "Hey, watch where you're..." Looking over, he would see a girl about his age. While he is mischievous in nature, he doesn't really like to fight girls. He forced his emotions to calm down. The rather rude tone he had turned that more of an indifferent one. "Just... Make sure you look where you're going. Walking into stationary people, really." He would shake his head.

Snow slowly fell down as he would realize. "Wait. Where's your winter cloak, you know it's like freezing out here, right?" He would sigh, "Come on, we can talk inside where it is warmer." He would walk over to the door to the castle, one of the many entrances back inside, and undoubtedly, warmer than standing out in the cold.

But the question would be if the girl would follow him back into the castle? Heck, they don't even know each other, though by the cloak that she was wearing, suggested that she is a Hufflepuff.

Viva scrambled to her feet, bright red. She silently brushed herself off, snow falling down and getting caught in her hair. She was too self-conscious to even say anything, even though she knew she should...

Oh my goodness. I can't believe I just did that. Oh, I need to apologize. WHAT is that facial expression he's making?! She realized the boy was glowering, but then he looked at her and his face kind of relaxed. Viva took this moment to study him more carefully. He was not exceptionally tall, a little under five feet, she guessed. His brown hair was being brushed around by the snow and wind, and didn't look the most neat. The strange boy she had smashed into had an almost mischievous air, like someone who wouldn't mind getting in trouble if it was for the right reason.

The boy asked a question about her coat, but Viva still didn't talk, brushing her hair out of her face as the wind whirled it around like a plaything. She shivered as the snow continued to land on her dark hair, contrasting. He walked over to one of the entrances back inside, and Viva silently followed. Why? She didn't know. Maybe because she felt compelled to listen to this stranger she had crashed into.

They walked back into the castle, warmth would welcome them and Leon would look over at the girl. He wondered about her, she hasn't really spoken a single word since their crash meeting.

He would rub the back of his neck, he never really been alone with another girl before. Sure there were other students walking past them every so often, but the silence was really getting to him. That, and he doesn't know really what to say. Leon would finally let out a loud sigh before speaking, "I'm Leon Richardson, first year Slytherin. You got a name? From what you're wearing, I'm guessing that you're a Hufflepuff. Anyways, since you haven't really spoken much are you a mute?"

Leon would wonder how that would work, someone that was mute casting spells. As far as he knows, almost all spells need to be vocalized for it to work, unless if there was some rare trait or ability that would allow people to do so otherwise.

For now, he would be tame, no use trying to start something with someone when it was a mere accident. As he would wait for the girl to answer his question, he would lean against the wall to get comfortable.

Viva glanced awkwardly at the boy out of the corner of her eye. They were now inside the entrance of the castle, where it was getting warmer. There weren't very many people in this corridor, Viva didn't know why. She leaned against the wall, copying the boy, while she was still slightly shivering.

The boy sighed, then introduced himself as Leon Richardson. He asked her a few questions, commenting on how she hadn't talked. When he said that, she blushed. Oh my goodness.

"Oh-uh-sorry! I'm not a mute..." she blushed even deeper, inwardly kicking herself. This is soooo awkward... "My name is Genevieve, but you can call me Viva. Yes, I'm in Hufflepuff," she answered all his questions. "Also-sorry for crashing into you... I was looking down to avoid the wind."

She traced circles on the ground with her foot, staring at the floor. Despite being inside, she was still so cold. Viva shoved her shivering hands into her pockets. Why am I so cold? I hope I'm not getting sick... She brushed some snow off of her robes. Why is this so embarrassing? What is he going to say? I can't believe he thought I was mute...

Leon would listen as the girl, Genevieve she calls herself, introduced herself along with answering that she was in fact not a mute and that she was trying to avoid the wind being in her face. Looking at her, he could see that she was still shivering.

Gritting his teeth, he had a reluctant look on his face as he would take off his winter cloak and handed it to her. "Here. This will warm you up. I'm not taking no as an answer." Leon wondered if it was possible to be nice and rude at the same time. Though he was offering to warm her up, his tone and probably the look on his face probably said different.

And even though he had a tough guy type of attitude, his own metamorphmagus powers saw right through it. His hair would turn into a hue of blue, almost like that of the sky on a warm summer day. Yeah, his default emotion is to be mischievous, but anything else could really make his power show what he is actually thinking. This soft blue hair would be a kind of soft side of Leon as he isn't trying to be a nuisance or anything of that nature. Unfortunately for him, he won't notice.

Leon seemed to grit his teeth a little, as if he was contemplating something... Then, he began to pull off his winter cloak, holding out his arm to hand it to her. Viva's eyes widened as she slowly took the cloak from his hand, marveling at his kindness to someone he had just met. Heck, she had crashed into this boy!

She shivered again as she fumbled with the cloak, clumsily putting it and fingering the beautiful silver clasps on the front. Viva felt much warmer immediately, and smiled gratefully at Leon. "Thank you," she said, meaning it. This boy was strange. He acted all mean and tough, and said strange and somewhat rude things, but then he did nice things like this.

Viva turned towards him, and was about to say something, when she suddenly noticed that Leon's brown hair was turning a soft shade of blue. Wh - what? she thought. What's going on? "Uh-uh-um," Viva stuttered, trying to stop staring at his now completely blue hair. "Your - your hair is... blue!" What is happening? She thought in amazement and confusion. Maybe I'm just crazy! She leaned against the wall, waiting to see what Leon would say.

"Yeah, yeah, it's whatever." Leon would brush off her heartfelt thanks. "Can't have people getting sick from the lack of wearing the proper things for the weather, ya know?" Yeah, he has a soft spot for girls, but he doesn't really want to show it.

Just then, the girl looked at him as if he was from outer space before exclaiming that his hair was blue. Looking up, and indeed in his peripherals, he could vaguely see a tint of blue in his hair. It would be at this time that he remembered how his emotions are, how he decided to be kind was enough for his powers to catch him off guard. Scowling to himself, he would think of pulling a prank on someone later on to make his hair turn back to normal.

"I'm fine. it's just that I'm a metamorphmagus. I know, real mouthful to say. I think it'd be easier just to say metamorph. Or even better, meta." He would sigh to himself, biting the inside of his lower lip to focus. "What I know of what I am, the metamorphs, is that my kind can basically transform to look however we feel like. More experienced ones can obviously do more drastic changes. The newbs." He points at himself, "Can barely keep from accidentally changing appearance unless there is some sort of strong default emotion that they have."
