Hogwarts Bound
Dennis’ family accompanied him to the train station. His father and mother, Quint and Maggie, and his younger siblings, Lizzy and Seamus. He was the first of the three to attend Hogwarts and his family couldn’t have been prouder. Though they were heavily invested in the study of muggles and even lived among them as regularly as a wizard family could, they were still in love with Hogwarts and that made trips to the wizarding world that much more exciting. It was ironic in a way. Dennis was the oldest and the first to go to Hogwarts of his siblings, but he was the last to display any kind of magical ability. Almost one year to the date to be precise.
He had no time for melancholy though with Seamus and Lizzy hanging off either of his sleeves bouncing up and down asking if they can come with him. Quint and Maggie just chuckled and reassured them that they will get their chance one day.
They stopped at a pillar in-between platforms 9 and 10. Dennis looked a little confused before Quint took Lizzy by the hand and they charged into the pillar and disappeared. Maggie took Seamus into her arms and encouraged Dennis that it would be ok. With a shove Maggie helped Dennis wheel his cart full of baggage into the column as well.
Once on the other side it was like night and day. There sat an older style locomotive but as shiny as if it were its first day on the tracks. London station might be busy but if possible Platform 9 3/4 was even more so! Quint watched the kids and Maggie helped Dennis both with his luggage and find a place in line to board the train. When Dennis was settled in line the family came over for their kisses and hugs and goodbyes.
The warning whistle blew and before he was ready, Dennis was pushed onto the train by the other eager students. He found a cabin, not on his own volition but rather to escape the crowded corridor. It was empty at the moment so the ginger boy took the time to get settled in with a snack his mom made him and a book. Soon they would be at Hogwarts and his greatest adventure would begin!
