Plush Gifts
Jam was holding a suspiciously large bag, filled with objects that strained against the confines of its brown leather. Despite the girl’s organisational habits, the lumps and bumps on the side of the bag made it clear that this project was one that Jam didn’t put much effort in.
The Ravenclaw girl cradled the bag in her arms, occasionally lifting her knee to it for some momentary extra support. Finally, Jam found a bench with no occupants in the Courtyard, where she placed the bag with a sharp breath and a ‘thump!’
There was no guessing what the girl was doing, as she is rarely alone. See, Jam was quite sociable, despite her social circle not being the biggest, and she usually went everywhere with her friends. It was quite odd to see her huffing about alone with a large bag.
Hogwarts had just begun snowing, and the weather was unexpectedly more chilly than anticipated, but Jam was sure that this was an activity she had to take outdoors - she thought it was the only way she could truly be alone and focused. So there she stood, all wrapped up in her cream-coloured puffy jacket and red scarf, wearing headphones that she had somehow crafted to work as earmuffs.
The girl unzipped her bag hastily, pulling out a crochet hook, a pair of scissors, and rolls and rolls of yarn. Some of the yarn overflowed on the bench, leaving a mess of coloured thread on the ground. There was an assortment of pinks, blues, reds, and purples, but still no indication of what exactly she was doing.
The brunette pulled out a list from a pocket of her bag, scanning it once more for any errors or mistakes. The list wasn’t long, but Jam knew the process in accomplishing the tasks would be. The list read,
It then struck her she wanted to put her skills in crochet to use. The girl had packed one extra large bag for her crochet materials when she came to Hogwarts, since she had no idea just how much free time she would have. This is the first time she has crocheted anything since she arrived at Hogwarts, however, which pointed out how little need she had to bring all of her materials along.
The girl put yarn to hook, meticulously creating the gifts she had in mind. Jam was finished with the first one in about an hour. It was a little doll with clothes matching her friend, Elodie’s. Jam reached into her leather bag and fished out a CD, burned with Elodie’s favourite songs. The brunette placed it in between the doll’s tiny arms, and set it aside.
Jam was finally done with her gifts for her friends. It was starting to get colder and Jam shivered in her jacket. The girl hurriedly packed up her bag, scooped up the dolls, and made a run to the inside of the castle, where she knew it would be toasty warm and she would be greeted by the company and comfort of her friends.

These were the names of her friends which she had considered to be her closest, and she thought it was a good idea to gift them for their friendship with her. The girl had thought of everything she could possibly do for them. She thought of writing poems, playing instruments, even buying them gifts with the little money she had, yet she felt none of them would be good enough.- Elodie Norman

The 11 year-old smiled in satisfaction as she stared at her creation. She was really hoping her friend would like it. She then repeated the same thing for her other friends’ dolls.Visuals!
