it was winter break, and Boston's family had made it clear that she would not be staying at Hogwarts. As much as she wanted to see what the castle looked like on Christmas, she did miss her family and wanted to see them all. During the break, family from Mexico traveled to the UK to stay at their house. Their house was cramped, and Boston was sharing a bed with 3 cousins. They had a guest room at the end of the hall upstairs where parents were staying, and a den in the basement where more cousins were sleeping on mattresses. During the day, adults and older cousins were running around the small kitchen to make enough food for the big family, while Boston was given the job of entertaining her cousins. Most of the cousins who weren't in the kitchen were her age, half of them boys and the other half girls. Boston had taken them out of the house and into the snow, where she showed them where her garden used to be and their playground.

The younger cousins were having fun on the swing set, and her cousin Diego sat down next to her. "Is there anything you want for Christmas, prima?" Boston looked at him and thought. She was genuinely happy with everything, her whole family was here. Christmas gifts hadn't crossed her mind, not even once. She found that odd. At 11, it was normal to want everything the world could offer. Ponies, barbies, whatever it is. But Boston had only wanted to see her family, and she got that already. Slowly, she shrugged. "I don't know." She frowned with a laugh. "I actually don't know" Diego clicked his tongue and elbowed her. "There's no way you want nothing. Your Christmas gifts used to be 10 pages long!" Boston shoved him back and laughed. "Noo! It's not that I want nothing it's just that I don't know what I want diego" Diego shook his head and packed a snowball as he spoke. "Alright. How about a new book?" Boston shook her head. SHe already had 5 books she needed to start. "Fine. Shoes?" She shook her head. "Money??" She widened her eyes and shook her head vigorously. "Fine fine... a pet maybe? I don't know Boston help me out!" Boston paused. "actually.. yeah.. I do want a pet."
-a few days later during Christmas shopping-
Boston was shopping with her mother while the rest of the family was at home. It was snowing, and she had directed her mother to Diagon Alley. Her mother was clearly confused and lost."I'm sure you're wondering why I brought you here.." she pointed at the sign next to them, Magical Menagerie. In the window were various pets. Her mother shook her head with a sigh. "Mom mom mom- with my own money. See?" She showed her mom her savings. Her mom gave in and they went inside. Boston scanned the rows of odd pets, her mother seemed concerned. Finally, Boston gasped and her mom came over. Inside the cage were several literally balls of furr with cute faces. Boston felt tears well up. "Mom stop they're so cute." She turned to her mom with a laugh. "You remember the Abominable snowman? I will hug him and squeeze him and call him George? that's what imma do mom." The shop keeper came over, and Boston pointed to a pink pygmy puff.

Once they got to the counter, Boston handed the galleons on the table. "And what would you like to name him?" The shopkeeper asked. "George" she said with a smile.
