Ash was standing at the King's Cross near the barrier between Platform 9 and Platform 10 with her elder brother, Alex. They stood there, confused, looking around in the hope of finding a Platform that said Platform Nine and Three-Quarters. Alex asked many people about it but all they did was glance at him weirdly.
'What are we going to do now?' said Alex anxiously. Ash's eyes suddenly lit up when she saw a boy carrying the same trolley as hers. 'Let's ask him.' she said, holding her brother's hand. But before they could even start walking, the boy ran into the barrier between Platforms 9 and 10 and disappeared. Ash and Alex blinked. 'What was that?' Alex muttered. Ash touched the barrier and she couldn't feel anything unusual. 'Where did he disappear?' she said. It was then when a girl, having the same trolley as Ash had came rushing towards the barrier. She glanced at Ash. 'If you're going To Hogwarts, do it fast or you're going to miss the train. Time's almost up! she said panting before running and disappearing into the barrier. Alex gasped. 'I think I know how to do it now.' Ash said, looking at Alex. 'Are you sure you're going to do that? Okay. Just don't break your nose. And good luck!' said Alex, giving Ash a warm smile. Ash waved Alex goodbye. She took some steps back, closed her eyes while holding her trolley tightly and ran towards the barrier as fast as she could. She kept running and opened her eyes when she didn't crash with anything. She was there, Platform Nine and Three-Quarters. Finally! Ash touched her nose to check if it broke, luckily it didn't.
In front of her was standing a big, scarlet train, and there it was written in clear words- Hogwarts Express

May had lived under the shadow of her best friend, Kaitlyn, since before she could remember. Being from a pure-blood household, she had been taught the ways of a true wizard, and even though everyone around her would tell her not to talk or hang about with anyone who didn't have the same blood status, she didn't listen to them once. There must be many half-bloods and muggles who were braver and stronger than her! But when it came to Hogwarts she knew everything. She had read all the books in her library, and re-read them again! She knew all about the train and the journey to Hogwarts, thanks to her older brother Marcus, she had been on Platform 1 and 3/4 3 times, so she knew exactly how to get through. May's parents were too busy to drop her off, so like every year she went with her brother, the only difference was, that she was going to Hogwarts with him. You go first, what if I go and something happens? said Marcus with a firm voice But- May hadn't even gotten to the main bit of her sentence when she felt a gentle but firm push on her shoulder, her brother had just pushed her into the barrier! But just as she was leaving, she caught sight of a girl who seemed like the same age as her, with short black hair and sun-tanned skin, waiting with a boy, slightly older than her. They seemed lost. She hoped they'd find their way into the barrier. Her brother then came behind her and ushered her on, they were going to be late. She was about to tell him that she was going to go back to help the girl on the muggle platform when she saw the girl coming through the barrier. Maybe their paths would meet again.

Ash Speaking| Ash Thinking

The train oddly looked cool- it was cooler than the trains they have in the muggle world, and Ash realised she was grinning like an idiot only when it had started to fade away. It was replaced with a blank look when her brain began reading out those questions in a speed rap.
What on earth am I supposed to do next- just board the train and get a seat? What if there's another train I'm supposed to take? AND WHAT IF I'M LOST?
She had started to feel like a desperate, lost child.

For her own sake, she couldn't do anything but get some help. At that moment, Ash again saw her-
the pretty girl having long, brown hair, a few blonde strands upfront. She was the one Ash had seen before passing through the barrier. And she seemed kind and polite, so Ash, without thinking any more, began taking steps in the girl's direction, hoping she'd get some help.

There were a lot of people like Ash, who had trolleys and trunks like her, except that Ash also carried a backpack which had a lot of chocolates, her sketchbook and other stuff related to art.

Finally, Ash now stood in front of the girl, and now that they were face to face, Ash noticed that the girl stood taller than her.
"Hi!" said Ash with a slight smile. "Actually, I'm going to Hogwarts, and it looks like you're going there too. So... is this the train we've got to take? Or is there any other? I dunno what I'm supposed to do so- could you help me out?"

@May Snow

May had seen this train for longer than she could remember. She had come for the first time when her cousin was 11 and she was just 3, then when her brother had started, she was 8 and insisted on coming to drop him off. It was the most boring train ever. Muggle trains fascinated her, with all the fancy seats and weird things that had holes in them and produced cold/hot air.
What was it called again... an A/D? An A/S?" she thought. "AN A/C, that's it!

She realised that the train was going to set off soon and she ought to have got a good seat, so she walked straight through the crowd towards the door, but not without about a million stares. She was a pureblood, one of the most known ones in the whole country. Her family were rich and had mad contacts with many important people in and out of the Wizarding World, some that the other children's parents had tried to get for years. She would definitely have people trying to be fake friends with her for their parents' sake.
She tried to ignore everyone and thankfully it worked. She calmed down, and almost didn't realise when a girl with short black hair and hazel eyes approached her, and she realized, that she was slightly shorter than she was which was normal since she did have long legs.
THE GIRL FROM THE BARRIER!

"Hi! Actually, I'm going to Hogwarts, and it looks like you're going there too. So... is this the train we've got to take? Or is there any other? I dunno what I'm supposed to do so- could you help me out?"

"Of course!" said May, thankful it wasn't someone trying to ask her about her ansestor. "I've been here quite a few times, yeah, this is the train we're meant to take, It'll lead us straight to Hogwarts."

"Thanks! Im Ash, Ash Brown, nice to meet you!"

"I'm May Snow, Pureblood, Nice to meet you too."

"Oh..." said Ash, a little colour fading from her face. "You're.. a pureblood."

"Yeah-" May suddenly realized what she was trying to say. "No no, I don't think half-bloods or muggles are lower than us, I think everyone in and out of the Wizarding World is equal."

"Oh Good!" Ash said, tugging at May's jumper, "Well, lets get on the train, we have to get the best seat!"

"Yeah, also, can we not sit with the other purebloods? Let's just say, they... know me."

"Alright," Ash said as they entered the train. "How about that one, its big and empty lets take over it."

She practically sprinted towards the compartment, draging May with her and slammed the door behind them.

"WOO, WE GOT IT," cheered Ash

May watched, stunned, how could Ash be so social? It was difficult for May; to her, Books were better than people all day any day and everyone knew that. Maybe it was good to be friends with someone who didn't know how rich she was. Maybe she could finally have a real friend.

"You're really fast Ash!" complimented May. "And your drop-dead gorgeous, got a boyfriend yet?"

Ash Speaking|May Speaking

While Ash asked the girl her weird doubts, she lowkey realised how she was not having any difficulties speaking to someone she didn't know, and it was quite a bit of a surprise for her. It was, because she never really spoke to other kids in the muggle world except her brother. It was not like she didn't want to, but everyone ignored her because of her 'unusualness'.
As kind as the girl seemed, she was! And she was lovely!

"Of course!" said May "I've been here quite a few times, yeah, this is the train we're meant to take, It'll lead us straight to Hogwarts."
"Thanks! I'm Ash," said Ash. It was the first time she introduced herself to someone after her very first day at the muggle school. "Ash Brown, nice to meet you!"
"I'm May Snow, Pureblood, Nice to meet you too." said May.

Ash really liked her name. But when she mentioned pureblood, Ash remembered something from Diagon Alley when she was there to buy her Hogwarts supplies. There was a boy in the Ollivanders who asked her if she was a pureblood. And as soon as he came to know she was a muggle-born, he sneered at her and left the store muttering "mudbloods", which kind of hurt Ash.
"Oh..." said Ash, remembering the incident. "You're a pureblood..."

"Yeah-" May began, but soon stopped as if she'd read Ash's mind. "No no, I don't think half-bloods or muggles are lower than us, I think everyone in and out of the Wizarding World is equal."

So May wasn't like that, in fact, she was very good! Ash wished they could be friends.
"Let's get on the train, we've got to get the best seat!" Ash held May's hand.

They found an empty compartment and it was theirs now.
