A New Place
Mr. Taylor carefully pulled to Taylor family car into the Kings Cross parking lot. When he stopped the car, the three Taylor's filed out, Mr. Taylor, Mrs. Taylor, and Brenda, their eleven-year-old daughter (they also had a younger son but they left him behind).
"Are you ready my, sweet angel?" Mr. Taylor asked Brenda as he yanked her trunk of supplies out of the car.
"Yes," she lied. The truth was that wasn't ready. Wasn't ready to leave her parents until Christmas, go to a whole new school, and basically start over making friends.
Mr. Taylor handed Brenda her trunk and the family started toward the station. Brenda had butterflies in her stomach but the more she tried to ignore them, the worse that got. Her father held the door open for her and she stepped in. It was buzzing with people and seemed impossible to get through. Even through all the people, she could clearly see the students that must be going to Hogwarts. Their muggle clothing didn't match, they were all between the ages of eleven and seventeen, and they all lugged around huge trunks with owl, toad, rat, and cat cages.
"Excuse me," Mrs. Taylor caught the attention of one of the employees. "May you please direct us to platform ten?"
"That way, ma'am," the employee pointed to the right.
"Thank you, sir," Mrs. Taylor said as Brenda and her father started toward the right.
Before they knew it, they were standing in front of a solid brick wall.
As Mr. and Mrs. Taylor pulled Brenda into a hug, she said, "I'm gonna miss you so much," to her them.
"We'll miss you too," Mr. Taylor replied. Brenda turned and at a bit of a run, went toward the brick wall.
Just as she was going through the wall, she heard her mother shout: "be a good-girl Sweety!"
Please let this work... please let this work... please let this work Brenda thought as she entered Platform 9 3/4.
When in doubt, look in a book.

A New Place
Oakleigh watched as people entered the platform. People watching, one of her own hobbies honestly. She saw a blonde girl enter, clearly a new wizard, muggle born perhaps. Oakleigh put her sketchbook in her bag and walked over to the girl.
"Hello!" She said cheerfully. "I'm Oakleigh. Oakleigh Bell." Her bag was pink with a cat design on it, covered in many different pins. Muggle shows and movies, random art, and some muggle sports and shows. "Are you a muggleborn? If so, I can help you find your way around. I'm only a first year myself, so it's new to me too." She chuckled, dimples forming on her cheeks. Her hair was brown and messy, frizzing everythere.
She had a bright bubbily personality. Oakleigh loved meeting new people, no matter how different they were from her. She looked back at where her trunk was, making sure that it was still there and safe. Her little brother had stolen it an hour before they were susposed to arrive and they took around an hour to find it after they figured out it was missing.
She was wearing a light pink dress, going down to her knees. Her pink mary janes matched perfectly with the outfit. She seemed so much like a hufflepuff.
