Before Hogwarts
Her parents, Mariana Lavinia and Matthew Martino were very kind and loving parents that sadly split when Maya was 4 due to an unknown conflict, but still lived together. When Maya was 7, her mother died in a war. She was devastated for a long time but now she is sort of over it.
They moved to Cambridge, England, when she was 2 since they thought there were more opportunities there for education and job opportunities. After her mother died, her father had quite a hard time even though they weren't together anymore. But after a while, he too was over all of it and continued his normal life along Maya.First instance of magic
The first time Maya had experienced wandless magic was when her mother died and she was outside in the rain with her cat. She looked at the ground and when some of her tears fell, tulips started growing, which were her mother's favourite flowers.
