A New Adventure
“Well, we made it!” Lillian said, looking up at her parents with bright eyes.
“Oh, sweetheart, I am going to miss you so much. I can’t wait to hear about all your adventures at Hogwarts! Send me owls every week, at least, dear. I will keep you up to date on the happenings at The Blind Basilisk and everything your father and I get up to while you’re gone. Study hard, my little dragon keeper.” Jasmine Inkwood, Lillian’s mother, pulled her daughter in for a tight hug and kissed her on the forehead. Lillian smiled up at her mother and hugged her back.
“Before we know it, she’ll be a Prefect, maybe even Head Girl, eh? Make your gran proud, and us too. I snuck a little snake charm into your bag, just for luck you know. I’m sure you’ll be in Slytherin just like the rest of us always have been. That drive of yours certainly glows green in my eyes. Get along now, and make some friends on the train in!” Casper Inkwood was a very large man with a gentle glow to him. He knocked a sideways smile to his daughter and gave her a solid pat on the shoulder.
Lillian nodded to her dad, “You’ve got it Pops. I’ll make you and mum proud.” She paused to grab her trunk. “Oh! And Gran too!!” With a quick wave to her parents, she hoisted her trunk on to the train and began to search for a car with space and maybe a familiar face. She hoped that she would manage to sit with some students that were not exploding with excitement, as she was overwhelmed enough with her own. I suppose pure-bloods and those that grew up around wizarding folk are the least likely to be crazed about Hogwarts. I can’t imagine being a muggle and being blasted with such information out of nowhere. She thought to herself as she continued to search for a not-to-friendly face among the open seats. Maybe I can find an empty car to get through some reading as well. But Father did say to make friends.
